Chapter 6: [6] Beast666 and Beast777
This was Aleister's unique 'magical armament'—Spiritual Tripping, a magic that forcibly implanted the caster's meditative imagery into the observer's mind.
Simply put, the caster performed a guiding gesture, and the target, driven by instinct, would spontaneously associate the gesture with a weapon, power, or force. The magic would then materialize that imagined effect and inflict it upon the target.
It was a spell that allowed the victim to be killed by their own imagination.
Aleister pointed his finger-gun at Roy, first making him instinctively think of a pistol—a weapon he knew well. But then, sparks erupted from Aleister's finger, and the numbers '50, 21, 35' appeared.
These mystical digits connected to Roy's mind, expanding his thoughts and imagination. In Roy's mind, that small pistol had already transformed into an anti-materiel sniper rifle.
For Roy in his current state, an anti-materiel rifle was more than enough to bisect him and end his existence completely.
As if that weren't enough, Aleister raised his free left hand, summoning a silver-white staff shaped like a spiral tower into his palm.
The Blasting Rod—this magical armament originally belonged to Aleister's mentor, Allan Bennett. After a certain incident, the deceased Allan Bennett bequeathed it to Aleister.
Neither the 'Blasting Rod' nor 'Spiritual Tripping' had particularly exaggerated abilities on their own. But when these two magical techniques were combined, they unleashed unimaginable power.
As an auxiliary spell, the 'Blasting Rod' amplified the imagined force of 'Spiritual Tripping' tenfold. This was one of Aleister's trump cards—the reason he dared to oppose a 'Magic God' as a mere mortal.
The 'Magic Gods' capable of distorting all rules possessed knowledge beyond human imagination, and thus wielded immeasurable creativity. Under the guidance of 'Spiritual Tripping' to channel this imagination and the tenfold amplification of the 'Blasting Rod,' even a 'Magic God' would find it unbearable.
Roy never expected Aleister to hold him in such high regard. Perhaps astonished that Roy had 'deciphered' the secrets of The Book of the Law, Aleister had almost immediately resorted to his trump card, determined to eliminate him in a single strike.
But Roy felt no honor or pride in this. In his perception, the power of what should have been an anti-materiel sniper rifle, amplified by the 'Blasting Rod,' had nearly transformed into an intercontinental ballistic missile.
An anti-materiel rifle alone would have been enough to kill Roy, let alone resorting to such an exaggerated method as an intercontinental missile just to eliminate an ordinary person.
The terror of death surged from the depths of Roy's consciousness like a volcanic eruption, overwhelming his thoughts. Boundless despair nearly drove him to complete madness, as the evil from the endless abyss sought to drag him into the void from which there was no escape.
He would die—he would die. Even a master with the 'Mind's Eye' could find no sliver of survival in such a hopeless situation.
Roy was just an ordinary fifteen-year-old boy. He only knew the most basic suggestive magic, completely ignorant of any stronger, systematic spells.
And the enemy he faced was the greatest magician of the twentieth century, the pioneer of modern occultism, a mythic figure who sought to eradicate magic single-handedly and dared to oppose the entire world—Aleister Crowley!
Aleister's enmity with the world was no exaggeration but a stark reality. Every magician in the world was his enemy, and even the Magic Gods—beings capable of reversing life and death, altering rules, and distorting the world—had long been inscribed on Aleister's list of foes.
The disparity was despairingly vast, yet to ensure absolute certainty, Aleister had immediately deployed one of his strongest means—crafted to oppose the Magic Gods themselves!
"BEAST666!!"
Only now did Aleister speak his magical name. In the modern magical world, this signified a fight to the death.
BOOM——————
Roy's thoughts shattered instantly, his consciousness scattering like an entire ocean vaporized in an instant.
It was as if an ordinary human had been struck directly by an intercontinental missile—amid the raging flames and shockwaves, all that remained were minuscule fragments of his corpse, if even that.
A kaleidoscope of images flashed through Roy's mind—scenes from his over twenty years of mundane life before crossing worlds, fragments of his time in London with Laura after the crossing, living a warm yet arduous existence.
Each image was so vivid, as though Roy had relived his entire life in an instant.
He knew—this was what people called the final flicker of consciousness before death.
Until the very end of the scene, Roy's consciousness arrived at a book—"The Book of 777," the magnum opus that encapsulated Aleister Crowley's thoughts.
The ideas within this book were largely products of Aleister Crowley's imagination, akin to a peerless master in martial arts novels creating a secret manual—yet even its creator had never attained its highest levels.
Aleister was no different. "The Book of 777" was more like his vision for his own path, a realm he himself had yet to reach.
And in the moment before Roy's death, his mind seemed to undergo an infinite sublimation. The contents of "The Book of 777" became fully integrated within him, transforming into knowledge that was wholly his own—
"BEAST777, I shall transcend the evils of humanity!!"
A Magic Name was the reason a magician wielded magic, etched into their heart like a guiding beacon—an unshakable creed they must never forget.
At this inevitable moment of death, Roy, through the knowledge recorded in "The Book of 777," finally grasped the path he must steadfastly follow. He would bear the title of 'God' to carry the 'Evils of Humanity,' becoming the genesis of creation and the apocalypse of revelation!
As Roy uttered his 'Magic Name' within this imaginary phase, his form finally manifested in this dimension.
When Aleister saw Roy's true appearance, his expression cycled through an astonishing array of emotions—shock, disbelief, realization, calm, bitterness, and finally, tragic despair.
Clang—
The Blasting Rod slipped from Aleister's grasp and fell onto the barren ground of this void. He collapsed to his knees.
"No——————————"
Hearing Aleister's heart-wrenching scream, Roy found himself inexplicably wanting to laugh.
Who would have thought his life would end so abruptly like this?
Just then, Roy seemed to hear a sigh, followed by a faint whisper—
『Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law』
Roy's consciousness sank into oblivion.
