Multiverse with the Ultimatrix

Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Ultimate Swampfire vs Drowned Part 2

Ultimate Swampfire`s eyes locked onto Drowned, watching as her lips parted. She unleaded a torrent of blackened water from her throat. It surged towards him in a massive wave, its liquid mass coiling like living shadows, rushing forward with unnatural speed.

Swampfire reacted instantly. "Root Wall," he said as he slammed his hands into the earth.

The maze trembled as thick roots bursted upward and created a barrier between him and the incoming flood.

The black water crashed against the natural wall, splitting apart, its corrupted energy splattering in all directions, pooling onto the corridor's stone floor.

The dark liquid seeped into the maze, creeping like an unnatural tide, It slowly flooded the narrow passageways.

Ultimate Swampfire's fingers twitched. He could feel it. There was something different about the water.

"Vine Thorn Release," he added from the wall another vine appeared. He lashed the vine forward, sending a storm of piercing projectiles hurtling toward Drowned.

Drowned barely hesitated. She tilted her head back and unleashed the compressed blast of blackened water at it. The sheer pressure obliterated the incoming thorns, scattering them into the depths of the maze, their fragments sinking beneath the rising waters.

Ultimate Swampfire looked around. The black water kept rising.

Drowned looked at the blackened water. She noticed some of it was disappearing and draining into the ground. Her expression darkened, her eyes flickering with irritation. She couldn't feel the water anymore once it merged into the earth. It was as if something had altered its nature entirely, stripping it of her control.

She looked at the deep pools of water. Suddenly figures began to emerge. Their blackened skin gleamed, their red claws twitched, and their faces remained nothing but bone-white skulls.

Drowned's voice rang out. "Arise, my army," she said. The Dead Water groaned, their hollow sockets pulsing with eerie light, their limbs twitching with unnatural movement.

"Charge," she added. The creatures surged forward. Their clawed fingers scraped violently against the root wall, tearing at the organic barrier with relentless ferocity.

Then Drowned leapt forward. Her trident carved through the protective wall.

Ultimate Swampfire saw her once again.

"Dark Pool," she said as from the palms of her hand she created a massive whirlpool of black water.

Ultimate Swampfire was caught immediately. His body dragged into the vortex. He was spinning uncontrollably as the dark currents pulled him deeper into its depths.

Within the swirling abyss, the Dead Water moved. Drowned raised her hand, issuing a silent command.

The Dead Water creatures leapt. They divided into the whirlpool, their movements unnaturally swift, as they swam toward him. Their claws extended.

Ultimate Swampfire's eyes darted. One of the creatures reached him first. It swung its taloned hand and struck his body. The sharp claws scraped against his hardened body.

Then, Drowned entered the whirlpool herself. She cut through the water effortlessly and swam towards him. She aimed her trident at him.

She thought even though he was trapped within her domain, the water refused to infect him. He was different and somehow resistant to her corruption.

She closed the distance. She raised her trident. She was prepared to drive it straight into his chest.

Ultimate Swampfire's flames flickered. "Blue Spores," he said as he exhaled sharply and sent a dense cloud of bioluminescent spores bursting from his mouth. The spores ignited upon contact, the energy reacting violently as they exploded within the whirlpool, disrupting its form, sending shockwaves of water scattering outward.

The vortex collapsed, the pressure vanishing instantly.

Drowned was thrown back, her body flung out of the shattered whirlpool, her feet skidding against the ground as she barely regained her balance. She straightened, her grip tightening around her weapon, eyes locked onto Ultimate Swampfire.

Ultimate Swampfire landed on his feet. He looked at Drowned. "Who are you talking about?" he asked. He thought her story was that she had lost a loved one and then went rouge killing everyone. "He is lying to you," he added. He thought Barbatos must have told her some lies. However, he thought Barbatos would not know about this and why would he attack him.

"Dead Water Colossus," Drowned as she summoned from black water. The Dead Water came out. She shaped them into a towering figure, its form shifting and twisting, a grotesque titan. It was a dark, eerie figure composed of a tangled mass of black, tendril-like material. Its skull-like head had hollow eye sockets and an open mouth. The tendrils extend chaotically from the head and body.

The Colossus lumbered forward, its massive form casting a shadow. The ground trembled beneath its sheer weight. It swung a colossal arm, aiming to crush Ultimate Swampfire.

Ultimate Swampfire reacted instantly. "Flamestreak," he said as his arms ignited, coated in a kerosene-like gel as he unleashed a torrent of blue flames.

The firestorm roared forward, colliding against the Colossus' chest and sending him flying back. He crashed against the maze wall, its frame cracking the stone.

Drowned then leapt into the air. Her trident spun before she swung it downward, aiming straight for Ultimate Swampfire.

Ultimate Swampfire dodged the strike at the last second. The weapon missed by inches.

Drowned adjusted instantly and used the trident as a pole to launch herself. She kicked Ultimate Swampfire who staggered backwards.

Ultimate Swampfire looked at the Colossus who had gotten up. Its huge fist slammed into the ground, the force sending cracks splintering across the battlefield, the maze itself shuddering under the power.

"Vine Attack," Ultimate Swampfire as massive root-like plants erupted. It snaked towards the Colossus in a coordinated attack.

The vines wrapped around its legs, constricting as their thorns dug into it and restrained the beast's movements.

"Dead Water Leviathan," Drowned called as she wove her creatures together. She merged the writhing masses into a singular monstrosity. The towering behemoth formed into a gaping maw. Its jagged teeth are shaped from the undulating abyss of liquid death. The Leviathan surged forward, its jaw snapping hungrily, swallowing the air with unnatural force as it lunged toward Ultimate Swampfire.

Ultimate Swampfire's eyes narrowed. "Blue Bomb," he said as the blue pod on his arms swelled rapidly. It grew until it dwarfed his own frame. With a powerful heave, he launched the pod straight into the Leviathan's open mouth. The explosion tore through the creature, ripping its form apart as the concussive blast scattered Dead Water in a violent eruption. The monstrous mouth distorted, then collapsed into a chaotic swirl, dissipating into vaporous mist.

Drowned snarled. "Dead Water Serpent," she said as she used more Dead Water into a new creation. The fluid horror coiled into existence, a sinuous beast formed of churning darkness. It slithered with ghostly grace.

Then, the Colossus broke free. The earth trembled beneath its awakening, stone cracking as its massive bulk tore through the wines.

Ultimate Swampfire turned sharply.

Inside the Ultimatrix, a large green river flowed. There were several figures. "We have some new faces now," said a human looking man. He had pointy ears and could see sharp fangs coming from his mouth. He was wearing a large cape. He could see the green river flowing rapidly. "It is time to turn it up," he added.

Ultimate Swampfire looked at the figures. The Ultimatrix symbol started to glow. "Blue Pyro Bomb," he said as the sphere in his palm ignited. its flames radiating in scorching waves. He hurled it forward, the fireball expanded violently mid-flight. The explosion was instant. It was a engulfing, searing blast that consumed the corridor. The Dead Water Serpent disintegrated in a spiraling inferno. The shockwave shattered the Colossus. Drowned was sent backwards. Her form scorched as she crashed against the maze's walls, steam hissing off her burned figure.

Drowned did not expect that heat to be this high. She was panting. Her body was scorching. She thought her only weakness was light and heat; however no flames were strong enough. She thought no it was just not flames.

Meanwhile, the goddess looked at the scene unfolding from her place. She watched Drowned lose. It was not a surprise. "You will not be Dungeon food for now," she said as black smoke cloud engulfed Drowned and she disappeared.

Ultimate Swampfire changed back to James. James thought that was a tough fight. He thought the flames and attack were stronger. He looked to see the black smoke engulfing Drowned. He thought it had to be Monty.
