[Multiverse] Reincarnated Into A Mixed Anime World!

Chapter 6: Miko Yotsuya!

The next day, Kosuke Kurosaki woke up, only to find that no one was around.

After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he made his way to the kitchen and saw Sayu Ogiwara wearing an apron. Her hair was tied in a ponytail, and she was cooking breakfast with intense focus.

From the side, her delicate face and slender figure looked stunning.

"Good morning, Kosuke!" she greeted him sweetly, flashing a polite smile.

Kosuke grinned in return, walking over to her. "Good morning, Sayu."

She continued cooking, skillfully flipping eggs in the pan. The sizzling sound echoed in the room, and in no time, a golden, fragrant fried egg was ready. Kosuke couldn't help but admire her precision.

After a while, two steaming bowls of egg noodles appeared on the table.

"I'm starting!" Kosuke declared, eagerly grabbing his chopsticks.

The aroma wafted up, and he took a bite. His eyes lit up with delight. "This is delicious!"

Sayu, sitting across from him, smiled sweetly as she tucked into her noodles. "I'm glad you like it."

After finishing the noodles, Kosuke indulged in some noodle soup, feeling fully satisfied. Seeing the joy on Sayu's face made it all the more worthwhile.

Kosuke then turned to Sayu. "Go ahead and clean up your room after you wash the dishes. Your room's the one next door."

Sayu nodded, her eyes sparkling. She had always longed for a space to call her own, a private area to decorate as she liked. Her own room, her own space—it was a luxury she'd never thought she'd have again.

As she stood in her new room, a wave of emotion washed over her. Was this really happening? Would she be allowed to stay here? Would her unknown past be a problem?

Sayu thought back to how Kosuke had treated her, offering kindness and warmth when she needed it the most. Unlike her cold family, Kosuke had made sure she was cared for. He didn't have to do any of this, yet he had. And for that, she felt a deep sense of gratitude.

Tears welled in her eyes as she made her decision. She would do anything to repay his kindness. As long as Kosuke needed her, she would be there.

After breakfast, Kosuke left, instructing Sayu to look after the house. He had a task to do—picking up his custom school uniform, which was supposed to be delivered to his door but had faced some delays. The courier company had apologized profusely, claiming that their trucks had broken down and asked him to pick it up at the branch instead.

Sighing, Kosuke decided to go out and collect it himself. He took the train to the courier company's branch, and after some searching, he finally found his uniform. The staff apologized again, and Kosuke was gracious, brushing it off.

He couldn't help but think it was odd that all the trucks were out of commission at once. With no other option, he took the package and left, secretly mulling over the strange occurrence.

On the way home, he stopped at a popular soy sauce barbecue shop and ordered a portion of braised pork. He planned to bring it back for Sayu to try. The dish was flavorful and savory, with a taste that lingered and made him crave more. It was the kind of food that was comforting when shared.

While waiting in line, Kosuke noticed a girl standing in front of him. She had two pigtails, a flower hair accessory, and thick glasses. Something about her seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.

As the line moved, he got his order and left. But something was off. Suddenly, a foul odor hit his nose—like the smell of something rotten. He looked around and saw a girl standing near the tram door. Her legs were pressed tightly together, and her body trembled slightly. Kosuke narrowed his eyes.

Her skirt—was it wet?

[Ding, triggering task: Psychic Girl's Fright.]

[In front of you is a girl who can see evil spirits. She has been harassed by one, and if the spirit realizes she can see it, she may be taken away. Because of her fear, she's even had an accident. Help her expel the evil spirit, and you'll receive a skill or item as a reward.]

Kosuke's eyes widened as he recognized the girl. It was Miko Yotsuya. He had seen her before, but now, it made sense. The girl could see spirits, and something was clearly wrong.

Kosuke stepped forward, closing the distance between him and Miko, who was shivering in fear. The spirit loomed closer, its red eyes staring at him with hunger. Kosuke locked eyes with it.

"Get lost, you stink," he said, his voice firm.

The spirit recoiled, its entire body twisting unnaturally. It opened its mouth, ready to strike.

But before it could, Kosuke activated his skill.

[Ding, attacked by a creature (evil spirit), damage doubled rebound!]

The moment the evil spirit bit, it let out a horrifying screech. Its teeth shattered as the damage was reflected back at it. The spirit vanished in a burst of darkness.

[Ding, Psychic Girl's Fright, task complete.]

[Congratulations, you've earned the entry skill: Spirit Eye.]

[Spirit Eye: This entry automatically triggers when encountering a spirit. Each charge allows you to release a spiritual attack.]

Kosuke looked at Miko, who was still frozen in shock. The spirit was gone, but Miko's skirt was still wet.

He sighed and, with a gentle smile, removed his jacket, wrapping it around her waist.

"The jacket's for you. No need to thank me."

Miko blinked up at him, still stunned. Kosuke walked past her as the tram door opened, heading out with his package.

As he stepped off the train, he couldn't help but smile. He had done what needed to be done.

And just like that, the world seemed to return to normal. Back home, Sayu was waiting, and Kosuke couldn't wait to share the meal he had brought for her.
