Chapter 3: Buying Sayu New Clothes!

As Sayu Ogiwara finished dressing, Kosuke Kurosaki grabbed a bath towel from the closet and wrapped it around her body.

"Alright, go take a shower and put these on," he said, handing her a shirt and a pair of shorts. "We'll go out later and get you some clothes for everyday use."

Sayu stared at him for a moment, then realized his intentions were innocent. Her face flushed.

"Yes... I understand."

She quickly ran into the bathroom, her face red, as if escaping from the situation.

Kosuke touched his nose, feeling awkward. He really didn't want to do anything to her. If he had just brought Sayu back to satisfy his own desires, what would that make him? No better than a gigolo, right?

What he wanted was a warm, happy life. And he wasn't the only one who should be happy. Sayu deserved happiness too. That was why he wanted to help her untangle her emotional knots.

[Ding! Task triggered: Untangle the emotional knots of the runaway JK girl, Sayu Ogiwara. Completing this task will reward the player with random skill entries and items.]

The task notification appeared, and Kosuke smiled. At least his system wasn't one of those annoying, restrictive ones. No punishments for failure, and the freedom to complete tasks at his own pace.

After a long while, Sayu came out of the bathroom, now wearing Kosuke's shirt. It hung loosely on her, showing off her slender legs beneath the large shorts. Her oval face, slightly flushed, exuded a blend of innocence and allure.

Kosuke couldn't help but glance at her a few times before turning his head away. He coughed and said, "This is just temporary. Don't wear this outfit outside, okay?"

Sayu pouted playfully. "Okay. I'll only wear it for you."

She was genuinely touched by his kindness. Though she didn't know how long it would last, she wanted to return his affection in any way she could.

"Come here," Kosuke called out. "Let me dry your hair."

Sayu sat obediently on the small stool, her expression still a little nervous. Kosuke dried her hair skillfully, and she couldn't help but wonder if he often helped girls with their hair. But she didn't voice her thoughts. After all, with her status, she couldn't complain. Kosuke was doing her a huge favor by letting her stay with him.

As he worked, her mind wandered to her past. Despite all the pain and confusion, she couldn't bring herself to end it all. Kosuke's care for her, though unexpected, made her feel something she hadn't felt in a long time: warmth.

"Alright," Kosuke said as he finished drying her hair. "Let's go out."

"Oh, by the way, I'll introduce you to my family along the way."

Sayu nodded. "Okay."

As they walked out, Kosuke began explaining, "I'm a freshman at Sobu High School, and school starts in about five days. My parents are gone, and I'm the only one left at home. I inherited Sakurasou from them."

"What's Sakurasou?" Sayu asked, curious.

Kosuke smiled. "It's a place where I live, but also my main source of income. The tenants who live there pay rent, and there's a school nearby called Suimei University of Arts High School. The people who live at Sakurasou are all students there."

Kosukw recognized the name "Sakurasou." It was the same as the one from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.

Kosuke continued, "There are five people living in Sakurasou now, including you and me. Kanda Sorata lives on the first floor; he's a guy who loves cats. He was forced to live at Sakurasou by the school administrator because of his obsession with cats. On the third floor, there's Senior Kamiigusa Misaki, a genius animation producer. The second floor is occupied by Akasaka Ryunosuke, a boy who looks like a girl and is a tech geek who doesn't leave his room much. There's also Teacher Chihiro Chigoku, the original manager of Sakurasou. My parents bought Sakurasou from her family after they lost it in a gambling deal."

"So, you're the landlord now?" Sayu asked.

"Yes," Kosuke nodded. "From now on, you'll be living on the second floor, right next to mine. Your job will be to take care of the housework and help with my meals. Is that okay with you?"

"Yeah, that sounds fine!" Sayu answered, relieved. She used to do all that at home, and it wasn't a big deal. In fact, she was a good cook.

Her past was full of disappointments. No matter what she did, her mother never appreciated her. But Kosuke's care, his willingness to take her in, made her feel important. It was more than she ever got at home.

Kosuke looked at her and then lowered his voice. "There's one person I want you to avoid. Don't talk to him, alright?"

"Who?" Sayu asked, confused.

"His name's Mitaka Jin. He's... a player, and he's dating six girls at the same time. It's said that just looking at him on the street can make girls pregnant."

"Really?" Sayu gasped. "That sounds dangerous!"

Kosuke chuckled. "I'm kidding. He's not that bad, but he is a flirt. I just don't want him near you. And... well, I'm a little possessive, so I'd prefer you to stay away from him."

Sayu's heart fluttered at his words. It was a little overbearing, but it felt good. She smiled softly and nodded.

"I won't let anyone else get close to me."

Kosuke smiled back. "Good."

The atmosphere between them lightened, and they both enjoyed the walk to the nearby supermarket. Kosuke bought Sayu several outfits for everyday use, along with some coats and underwear. He even bought ingredients for dinner. After spending 58,000 yen, they made their way back to Sakurasou.

When they arrived, Chihiro Chigoku, the beautiful manager, was drinking from a bottle of wine. She rolled her eyes when she saw them.

"Kosuke, are you trying to be like Mitaka? Bringing a girl back to Sakurasou?"

Kosuke smiled and shook his head. "I can't compare to Mitaka, who dates six girls at once. This is Sayu Ogiwara. She'll be living here from now on. I've hired her as Sakurasou's new management assistant."

Chihiro raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure she's just an assistant and not your lover?"

Kosuke shrugged. "Well, she's both, I guess. It's none of your business."

Chihiro waved it off. "Come on, Miss Ogiwara. I'll help you get settled."

Sayu looked to Kosuke for approval, and he nodded.

"Go ahead, Chihiro's a good person. You'll get along with her just fine."

Chihiro grinned. "I like what you said, Kosuke."
