Chapter 31: Plans into Action
A few weeks had passed by. It was a New Year with the same goal. Marco and his friends had two evil rulers to put a stop to. Christmas Eve showed that they're still making nefarious plans towards their goal, so Marco and his friends had to step up.
However, there were certain changes to this group dynamic. The first major change of course being between Luz and Anne. As of the prior Christmas, both girls had an intimate moment under a mistletoe, and new feelings began to arise.
Anne was definitely curious about dating Luz, but she had several doubts about it, mainly how their friends would react. Luz similarly felt some conflict, and she knew she had to address these feelings, and do so sooner than later.
With the holidays done, everyone from the Calamity Trio, to the Hexside Students, to Giggs, along with the Plantars and Clawthornes had returned to Mewni Castle, waiting in the Throne room for Star, as the girl had some big things to discuss.
"Okay everyone, I have some good news to share," Star began. "My mom's memory is slowly, but surely, starting to come back. Soon, she should be back to her old self."
"That's great Star!" Marco said. "How close would you say she us?"
"Uh...like, maybe...seventy percent? Seventy five the highest," Star said. "Point is, she's getting there, she just needs a liiiiiitle more of a push."
"This is great, we're really happy for you Star," Anne said. "I know it must be tough knowing your mom was in that type of condition, but you're pulling her out of it."
"Anything we can do to help?" Luz asked.
"Might be harder since my mom didn't really know a lot of you that well, but just keep being friendly," Star said.
"While bringing her memory back, have you kept her up to date on everything that's happened since she's disappeared?" Marco asked.
"A little, some of what I have to say might be lost since she has no context to really understand," Star said. "She knows we're at war with The Emperor's Coven and Newtopia though."
"Does she know about Eclipsa?" Marco asked.
Star shook her head, "She's starting to remember her, but I didn't want to tell my mom that Belos killed Eclipsa, not yet at least."
"Could she really be dead?" Marcy asked. "What if Andrias was just trying to trick us?"
"Why would he?" Sasha asked. "What does he have to gain?"
"I don't know, he's obviously not one for honesty," Marcy said.
"He is honest, he's just selective about it," Sasha said. "Or the type to find a loophole around his lies."
"And Hunter doesn't know about any of it, right?" Gus asked.
"He wasn't there when it happened," Marco said. "He knows as much as we do."
"Yeah, he was too busy trying to find and kill the rest of us," Marcy said.
"Has he had anything more to say since we captured him?" Amity asked.
"No, he's keeping quiet, the little punk..." Star lamented. "Until he decides to open is yap, we're stuck guessing."
"What if Eclipsa is faking her death?" Higgs asked. "She is known to be deceitful."
"Higgs, don't rely on current texts, they manipulate history to their advantage," Star said.
"I still say we bring the fight to them," Sasha said. "Storm Newtopia and The Boiling Isles and kick some ass. That sounds like a great idea, don't you think so Higgs?"
"Seems alright to me," Higgs said.
"That's going to get everyone killed," Star said. "Attacking the enemy in their home territory is never a good idea."
"Maybe, but they also might not expect it," Sasha said. "Plus, we have the power for it."
"We wouldn't know where to strike," Star said. "Look, why don't we wait for my mother's memories to return to normal before making grand plans?"
"That might take too long," Sasha said.
"Too long? She's practically right there," Star said, using her index finger and thumb to show the distance. "See how close that is? Yeah, she's just about there. Gotta trust me on this, Sasha."
"...Okay fine," Sasha said. "But this could cost us an advantage. We just got a big win over Andrias during the Christmas parade. Right now he's likely hurting."
"All we did was blow up one of his robots, he probably has more," Star said.
"Which is why we need to go and attack now so that he doesn't have time to use them!" Sasha said.
"Dial it back a bit, Sash," Marco pleaded.
"I can't, I'm tired of dragging things out, then is it any wonder why we get ambushed so many times?" Sasha asked.
"Hey it works," Marco said. "Instead of us risking our lives going to them, they're coming to us, and losing. One way or another, we're taking down their ranks."
"Yeah, better to fight on our turf than there's," Luz said. "Last time we were in Andrias's turf, we lost, and Marco nearly got killed."
"Eclipsa went to Belos's turf, and she actually got killed," Anne reminded.
"Where we want to admit it or not, Belos and Andrias are very powerful, going against them is a terrible idea," Marcy said. "Not without some assistance."
"Then let's get assistance," Sasha said. "We'll build an army! Get every ally we can and lead an assault! I don't care if it's at Andrias's Castle or Belos's, we need to bring the fight to them!"
"Sasha, we have an army," Star reminded.
"No offense Star, but a lot of your knights are borderline useless, not counting us of course," Sasha said. "It would be smarter and much more efficient if me and my friends here built an actual army to lead a charge.
Star shook her head in annoyance, "I admire your persistence, but I need you to be a team player. The smartest thing is to wait for my mom to recover. She's much more familiar with war and she will know how to lead us to victory."
"Yeah, so let's drop it for now," Marco said. "We need to stay on the same page."
"...Ugh, you do what you want, I'm going to find Grime. Let's go Higgs," Sasha said, using her scissors to leave Mewni with her friend.
"Sasha wait!" Anne called. Too late, Sasha had left. "She's so impatient."
"Star, remind me again why you knighted her?" Eda asked.
"Yeah, she's not exactly our friend, if anything she'd rather ditch us and go by her own rules," Sprig pointed out.
"I knighted Sasha to keep her under control," Star said. "I figured if she was under my watch, we wouldn't have to worry about her weird antics, but clearly she's still defiant. It's fine, I can give her an earful later."
"So, what are your plans now?" Eda asked.
"I'm going to see my mother," Star said. "Eda, maybe you and Lilith can help me out with something. My mom likes tea, and the more relaxed she is, the easier her memory comes back."
"I'm not much for making tea," Star said.
"At least make some small talk with mom, that helps too," Star said. "It helps that you were one of the last people my mom saw before her memory completely went poof."
"You got a point there," Eda said. "Alright, I'll see what I can do for her."
"Great, let's go," Star said, leading Eda away to find Lilith.
Nearby, Hop Pop had an idea pop into his head, "You know, I should cook something for Queen Moon, it would most definitely help with her memory problem."
"What are you going to cook?" Sprig asked.
"Something gross probably," Polly said, much to her grandfather's annoyance.
"Oh hush now," Hop Pop said, making his way to the kitchen. "I'll be right back with something Moon will love!"
"...I hope Hop Pop doesn't accidentally kill her," Polly said.
"Don't say something like that!" King scolded.
"You know, I feel like we could be doing our part too," Sprig said. "If we don't take initiative, we'll be left out of so many adventures."
"Well we are just kids, and of course the teenagers want to hang out with other teens," Polly said.
"Kids or not, I have some ideas, come on!" Sprig said, leading his friend and sister away.
Meanwhile Marco and his friends were thinking over some ideas from the meeting.
"I do have to admit, her army building idea sounds like it could work," Amity said. "We've done better with close allies than random soldiers."
"Uh, are you sure about that? You didn't have a lot of luck against Meteora," Maddie said.
"Hey, things were going well until Belos showed up," Amity said. "Yeah some of our side got their souls taken but we pulled through by the end."
"And to be fair, some of our allies at the time were kind of useless," Anne said. "Like, what exactly did Pony Head do other than sass everyone?"
"That chicken guy was certainly annoying," Luz said.
"Kelly was helpful," Marcy said. "So was Tom, a little at least."
"Hey, where is Tom?" Anne asked. "Why wasn't he here with Star?"
"Oh he said he needed to focus on himself a bit because he feels like all he does is think about Star," Marco said. "So he and Janna went somewhere together."
"Tom and Janna?" Luz asked. "Where could they have gone?"
"I'm not sure, Janna said something about a junkyard," Marco said. "I try not to figure that girl out."
"Think Tom's doing okay around her?" Anne asked.
"Don't worry, they're probably having fun together," Marco said.
Meanwhile.
Janna was seen gripping for life on a giant boot as a bird eventually ended up releasing it. "No, no, no, no! Stupid biiiiiiird!"
Back in the castle.
"Yeah, they're just fine," Marco said. "But I am more worried about Star."
"We can check on her," Willow offered. "By 'we' I mean myself, Gus and Maddie."
"Yeah, at this point, we're practically Star's retainers," Gus said.
"You three do hang around Star a lot. Honestly I'm really happy you're keeping her company," Marco said.
"It's our pleasure, Star's a very nice girl after all," Willow said.
"If anyone's a loyal friend, it's Willow," Amity said. "She's very easy to talk to, and she is great at hairstyling."
"Ooh! You should try that for Star," Luz said.
"I would, but that's a lot of hair," Willow said. "I've never worked with anything that long. Plus it's already pretty and I don't wanna mess with it."
"Besides, it's silly and pointless," Maddie interjected.
"It's not silly, it's just a fun things girls like to do," Luz said. "And some guys, probably."
"Look, you three talk to Star, and maybe figure out how far along Moon's coming," Marco said. "Star says she's almost there, but that might be more her hoping than actuality."
"Yeah, we'll do just that," Gus said, then turned to his friends. "Let's go."
"We'll be back soon," Willow said, leaving with Gus and Maddie.
Marco took a deep breath, "Okay, what else is on our agenda?"
"Let's see, the war against Belos and Andrias, Queen Moon's condition...ooh, what about Hekapoo?" Luz asked. "No one's seen her or her brothers in weeks."
"Yeah, that's a little suspicious," Anne said. "Where would we even start searching for them?"
"They're probably somewhere in the Neverzone," Marco said. "At least Hekapoo might be."
"Let's take a trip there, we'll look nice and sexy again," Luz said.
"I guess that can work," Marco said, grabbing his scissors. "Come on."
Marco led the girls into the Neverzone, ready to find Hekapoo.
Meanwhile Hunter was still in his cell, a lost look on his face. He wasn't too alone as Cloak-Bot was imprisoned as well, but he was decommissioned, so he couldn't even talk to him.
He heard some footsteps, then turned to see some unexpected visitors, "What do you want?"
Standing outside the cell were Sprig, King and Polly.
"We're here...to see you," Sprig triumphantly declared.
Hunter did not look amused, "Yeah, I can see that, my question is why are you here?"
"Oh right," Sprig cleared his throat. "We're going to need some answers from you Hunter."
"If that truly is your name," King said.
"Yeah, it is," Hunter replied.
"Good, we're already on the same page," Sprig said. "Now, Hunter, what can you tell us about Emperor Belos?"
"He is a powerful man who will reduce this castle and everything you love into nothing while he makes his triumphant mark all across this and many other worlds!" Hunter said.
"Uh...wow, did you like, rehearse that or something? Because that was very dramatic," Sprig said.
"Yeah, you almost sound like our grandpa," Polly said, much to Hunter's annoyance.
"Hey! I am NOT some old man!" Hunter said.
"Didn't say you were old, dofus," Polly said. "You just sounded overly dramatic."
"Look, I have nothing to say about my uncle, other than he's going to conquer the realms," Hunter said. "Given that he has access to the Human Realm after so many years, consider your days numbered."
"That's the thing, if he has access to the one place he wanted to go to for so long, why hasn't he acted out his plan?" King said.
"Well this is the same guy who worked with someone waited until we hand delivered the Music Box to him just to do something he could do with a pair of scissors," Sprig said.
"The box is more than just a dimensional transport, it powers his castle and his armies!" Hunter said. "He could send his castle to another realm if he wants to!"
"You know, that does make a lot of sense," Sprig said, tapping his chin. "Still doesn't explain your uncle."
Hunter groaned in annoyance, wishing these three kids would just leave, "Look, my uncle is postponing his plan because he needs to assist King Andrias so that...wait why am I telling you any of this!?"
"Because we asked so nicely," Polly said.
"I'm not letting you trick me into revealing my uncle's plan!" Hunter shouted.
"We're not trying to trick you, we're asking you straightforward questions," Sprig said.
"Yeah, you're the one who's blabbing," Polly said. "Probably happy to have someone to talk to since you seem pretty lonely in here."
"First of all, I'm not lonely!" Hunter insisted. "Second, don't try to turn this on me! I am not going to betray my uncle! He's the one who took me in when I had no home, far as I'm concerned, he's a great man."
"Yeah, a great man who has not once come to check on you," King said. "I guarantee if it were Luz who got captured by Belos, Eda would do everything in her power to bring her back home. Not just her, Amity too! Honestly it's safe to say that Anne Boonchuy and her friends, along with Marco Diaz would storm the place and burn it down."
"Same if Anne got captured," Polly said. "There isn't anything Marcy or Sasha wouldn't do to get her back."
"That goes for us, and the rest of her friends," Sprig said.
"Face it, your uncle doesn't care about you as much as you care about him," King said, Hunter's eyes widening in disbelief. "And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this to rub it in your face. Honestly, I feel sorry for you. When I was alone, I was lucky to be taken in by a kind old witch lady. Sprig and Polly here are lucky they had their grandfather to take care of them after their parents died. You unfortunately, got stuck being raised by a megalomaniac who tossed you aside the moment you were useless to him."
Hunter seemed lost in thought, fear running through his mind at the idea that King's words may have had a hint of truth to them. "No..." Hunter shook his head defiantly, "No! You're wrong! My uncle wouldn't abandon me when I need him the most! He's just biding his time, that's all! Figuring out the perfect revenge against all of you!"
"Hunter, come on, I know this is hard, but you're lucky now," King said. "You have a chance to start over, you gotta take it!"
"You messed up, but so has Sasha, and everyone forgave her," Sprig said. "You can make peace with everyone, and have a new family."
"There's literally a former henchman for Toffee living peacefully in Wartwood because Star gave him a second chance," Polly said. "She might give you one."
"Are you nuts? She tried to kill me!" Hunter said.
"To be fair, you ticked her off by taunting her about her recently dead great grandmother," King said. "Despite that, I still think you have a chance at forgiveness."
"It can't hurt to try," Sprig said. "I can talk to Anne, she'll put in a good word."
"So will Luz," King said. "She said you two got along well in Latissa, she really thought you two could have been friends."
"Well she was wrong, now do me a favor, and get out of my sight, I'm done with the three of you," Hunter said.
"Hey, we're trying to be nice here!" Polly said. "How stubborn can you be!"
"Take it easy, Polly," King said, then turned his attention to Hunter. "We'll go, but I really hope you think about what I said."
"...Yeah, sure..." Hunter said.
"Sprig, Polly, let's go," King said.
"Right behind you, King," Sprig said, following his buddy alongside his sister.
Hunter sat against the wall, still thinking over King's words. "No way that little demon is correct. I know my uncle, he'll be here soon."
Meanwhile in the Neverzone, Marco and the girls have been asking around regarding Hekapoo, but so far, no luck. Every town they've gone to has not seen or heard of the monster girl.
"Geez, it's been weeks and no one's even seen any sign at all of Hekapoo," Anne lamented.
"Given the time differences, decades have passed by without anyone knowing," Luz said. "Could Hekapoo have really hidden for that long? Or is she just not in the Neverzone?"
"Hard to say," Amity said.
"Have we checked everywhere?" Anne asked.
"Much as we could in..." Marco scratched his head, "Geez, I don't even know how long we've been in here."
"Me neither," Luz said. "I really lose track of time in this place."
"Should we head back?" Anne asked.
"Eh, why the rush? Days in here is only a few seconds in Mewni, I think we can stick around a bit longer," Marco said.
"That's good," Marcy said, wrapping her arms around Marco. "I kind of missed your sexy abs."
"Don't worry, one day I'll have them for real back home," Marco said. "I just need to grow up a bit."
"You'll get there," Amity checked her breasts. "I hope this is a good sign as well, gotta look sexy if I want to pull off an even sexier girlfriend." Amity glanced at Marco, "Or the one guy I will make an exception for."
"And just like that, everyone's horny," Anne said.
"Well we are teenagers in adult bodies, hormones are going to run wild," Luz said.
"You know, Marcy and I are going to catch up a bit," Marco said, a blush forming on his face. "You three...figure out what you want."
"Let's go," Marcy said, leading her boyfriend away.
"And there they go," Anne said. "I'm wondering, if Marcy gets pregnant, what happens when she goes back to Earth?"
"That's a good question," Luz said. "Maybe since it's because it was here that the rules change a bit? That's my best guess."
"Well while those two have fun, maybe the rest of us should go back home," Anne said.
"Actually, Anne, I need to talk to you," Luz glanced at Amity, while sporting a blush on her face. "In private."
"Oh, um...okay," Anne turned to Amity. "We'll be right back."
"That's fine," Amity said as Luz left with Anne. Despite knowing that they wanted privacy, Amity couldn't help but wonder what the two had to talk about. Seeing Luz's blush also had her curious as she elected to follow the two in secret.
Anne and Luz went to the side of a large rock, not too far from a nearby town, figuring this was a good place for them to privately speak.
"What's on your mind?" Anne asked.
"Anne...we haven't talked much about this past Christmas, haven't we?" Luz asked. "And what happened under the mistletoe?"
"Uh..." Anne's face began to turn red. Of course she expected this to come up, she just hoped she could avoid it a little bit longer. "Yeah...that was quite a bold move. Not that I blame you, after all, tradition says that you kiss under a mistletoe."
"Anne, you and I both know that this was more than just tradition," Luz said. "Or rather, I know that it wasn't just tradition. That mistletoe was not the main reason I kissed you. You and your beauty mixed with your kindness is why I kissed you."
"I had a feeling..." Anne said, feeling flustered. "Not to sound like a narcissist or anything, I'm not saying I'm sexy, but I did have a strange feeling that you kissing me was less about tradition and more about desire."
"We didn't get to talk much since I went to spend some time with my mother," Luz said. "And even when I got back, I kept it all business but, I guess now's as good of a time as ever to tell you how I feel.:
"Okay, then tell me," Anne said. "How do I make you feel?"
"You, Anne Boonchuy, make me feel happy," Luz began, taking the girl's hand. "Since I met you, I knew we would form a close bond. It's like I see you, and our souls become linked. At first I figured, we're two girls who got transported to another world, like an Isekai anime. Over time, I grew to really admire you. Your confidence, your friendliness, how you always tried to see the best in others. You were always so brave, you never let anything stop you and you had this incredible determination."
"Really making me blush here," Anne said, her face as red as a tomato.
"Sorry, but these are my honest feelings," Luz said. "It may be too soon to say this, but I'm in love with you, Anne Boonchuy."
"Whoa...yeah, little too soon for that," Anne said. "Don't get me wrong, I'm very flattered, but we've only known each other a few weeks now. Maybe longer in here but..."
"But nothing, despite my hazy memory, the times I remember vividly are the times I spent with you," Luz said. "And yes, we've only known each other for several weeks, months even, but I know what I want. And that's you, Anne. I want to be with you."
"What about Amity?" Anne asked. "You two had something, I can tell. I don't want to get in the middle of that."
"I will admit, I did have feelings for Amity, and I really did believe we were going to have something together," Luz confessed. "But...over time, you just kind of took over."
"Luz, come on, you've known Amity longer, if you're going to take a chance, take it with her, not me," Anne said. "I would make a terrible girlfriend! I'm very immature, I freak out a lot, I probably have a fear of commitment. I'm just going to break your heart."
"You know, you keep telling me you're not worthy, and it's just making me love you even more," Luz held Anne's hand tighter. "It means you're concerned about my feelings, and that you care enough about me that you would rather I be happy elsewhere than with you." She pressed her forehead against Anne's, looking the girl in the eyes. "But, I know what my heart wants, and I know what you want too."
Anne looked aside, still feeling doubt, "I...Yeah, I can't deny that you're very pre...you're absolutely beautiful, and you would make an amazing girlfriend. But...I just can't help but feel like I'm screwing Amity over."
"You're not," Luz said, pulling back a bit. "Listen, I know this might break her heart, and it hurts because I do care enough about her feelings that I don't want to be the reason she's sad. But she's a strong girl, and I know she will bounce back. She might find someone better than me."
"That would be so hard, you're amazing, probably too good for me," Anne said.
"No Anne, I'm the one who's lucky, to be with someone like you," Luz said. "I will face the consequences later, I will tell Amity myself. Will she cry? Probably. Will I feel terrible? Absolutely. But, I have to follow my heart, and unfortunately for you, it turned your direction. If you truly don't feel the same, then I will let this be. But if you do want to, then you're going to have to be selfish. I know that's hard for you, but you have to be ready to take one more risk."
Anne really thought it over. Despite her hesitation and self-doubt, mixed with knowing this would hurt someone else, she couldn't deny that she felt something special with Luz. She didn't know how she beat out Amity, but she wasn't going to think about it.
"Luz...I want to be your girlfriend," Anne said. "Will you take me?"
Luz's eyes teared up, the girl nodding her head in happiness, "Yes, I will! I will take you Anne Boonchuy!" Luz then brought Anne in for yet another kiss, one of even more passion and confidence, one that Anne was more than willing to return.
Unknown to them, Amity was around, and had heard everything. Seeing the sight of Anne kissing Luz was enough proof to her that her hopes of being with Luz were gone. To say she was heartbroken was an understatement, as she had to hold back some tears. Despite that, she did try to feel happy for them.
"If you love something...let it go," Amity said to herself. "Luz, I just want you to be happy. Anne...I trust you to make her happy. You girls can tell me when you're ready."
Amity made her leave while Luz and Anne maintained their kiss, breaking it off after several seconds.
"So...no regrets?" Anne asked.
"None, this is exactly what I want," Luz said. "Te amo, Anne Boonchuy."
"Gonna assume that's Spanish for 'I love you'," Anne said.
"You're catching on," Luz said, briefly nuzzling her nose against Anne's. "So, Marco and Marcy might be busy for a while, why don't you and I spent a little more time together, alone?"
"Sure, doing what?" Anne asked.
"Well...your sexy leaf costume is giving me some interesting thoughts," Luz said, placing her hands on Anne's hips. "Are you wearing underwear by any chance?"
"Whoa, dial it back a bit," Anne said, the girl blushing. "I'm flattered but I'm not ready to take that leap."
"Right, sorry about that, my mind started racing," Luz said.
"It's fine, your costume's pretty sexy as well, especially with how your butt looks," Anne said.
"My butt, huh?" Luz asked, seductively turning around and adjusting her cape to give Anne a full view of her not yet exposed butt. "Looks like you got a dirty mind too."
"Any chance we could go on a date first? I want to do this...naturally so to speak," Anne said. "Take it slow, I want the old-fashioned romance."
"I don't blame you," Luz said, feeling a little embarrassed at the moment. "Maybe we should leave this place, I don't think either of us are emotionally mature enough to handle these adult feelings."
"Yeah, if we're not careful, we're going to end up as sex hungry as Marco and Marcy are," Anne said.
"Isn't it just Marcy?" Luz asked. "She's very flirty."
"Marco's a guy with a super hot girlfriend, he wants it just as much, he's just better as showing restraint," Anne said. "Probably helps that he's had at least once girlfriend prior to Marcy, mixed with the fact that he's basically got a harem which includes Kelly, Janna, Hekapoo and Star."
"Whoa, harem?" Luz asked. "Wait, since we hang around Marco, are we his harem too?"
"...Okay, we really need to be careful coming into the Neverzone now, because I guarantee, we're all going to end up sleeping with Marco at one point or another," Anne said. "I guarantee that's going to happen, and when it does, I'll have called it."
Luz giggled to herself, "I think you've been watching too much harem anime."
"Like you don't," Anne teased, then grabbed the dimensional scissors. "Come on, let's head back. It'd be much faster than waiting for Marco, Marcy and Amity."
"Wait, should we go find Amity? She mind be a bit lonely if Marco and Marcy are going to...you know...bond."
"She can leave herself if she wants," Anne said. "We'll all be reunited in less than a few minutes anyway, let's go."
Anne opened the portal and leapt to Mewni, with Luz right behind her.
Meanwhile as Marco and Marcy were on their way somewhere private, the eager boy heard a familiar voice. "Marco!? Marco Diaz!?"
"Huh?" Marco turned to see a muscular ally of his. "Brunzetta?"
"Brunzetta?" Marcy turned to the lady. "Wait, I think I've seen her before."
"She's one of the most popular warriors here, so you might have," Marco said, getting the lady's attention. "Hey, Brunzetta, good to see you."
"Yeah, likewise," Brunzetta said, taking note of Marcy. "Who's your friend here?"
"My girlfriend, Marcy Wu," Marco said.
"Girlfriend huh? For how much longer?" Brunzetta teased.
Marcy furrowed his brow, "I have absolutely no intention of letting Marco go."
"I know, I was wondering when you'd be promoted to wife?" Brunzetta asked.
Marcy's face turned red, "Wife? Well...I have thought about it."
"It won't work where we're from, not for a few more years anyway," Marco said.
"Years huh? Well try not to keep this beauty waiting, I can tell she wants to make things as official with you as possible sooner than later," Brunzetta said.
"I'm aware, when the time comes, I promise to make her the happiest girl in the multiverse," Marco said. "For now, we're just enjoying life as is."
"Yeah, married or not, I just want to be with my big, strong Marco," Marcy said, hugging her boyfriend tightly.
"Still, what a treat to see you," Brunzetta said. "So, here on business?"
"Sort of, we were looking for Hekapoo," Marco said.
"Hekapoo? I saw her and those boys pass by several weeks ago with some food, they looked kind of down," Brunzetta said.
"Wait, they passed by?" Marco asked. "Do you know where they went?"
"Some cave up those mountains, no one's seen them in forever," Brunzetta said. "Anyone who's seen them says they're usually wearing some type of hoodie to disguise themselves. Like they don't want to be found."
"So people have seen them?" Marcy asked. "Everyone we met so far said 'no'."
"Either they genuinely didn't know, or they were looking out for them," Brunzetta said. "Those three seem to not want a lot of contact."
"I'm not surprised, last time we were with them on a quest, things went down and they made quite a few enemies," Marco said.
"Well, if you're going to see them, better make it quick," Brunzetta said. "Who knows if they're going to stay or get on the move again."
"Alright, looks like we're going to have to get a move on, thanks Brunzetta," Marco said, then turned to his girlfriend. "Let's go, Mar-Mar."
"Right behind you," Marcy said, following her boyfriend.
As Amity returned to town, she took a look around to see if there was anything she could do. "Well, Anne and Luz have each other, Marco and Marcy have each other. Maybe I should go home. Or at least check one last time to see if anyone's found Hekapoo."
"Amity!" Marco called, getting her attention. "There you are. Good news, we may have found out where Hekapoo is."
"Wait, really?" Amity asked. "Wow, that's amazing!"
"We ran into a friend of Marco's, she told us everything," Marcy said. "Let's find Anne and Luz and make one final journey."
"Uh, Anne and Luz are...really busy now," Amity said, the girl blushing. "I don't think they want to be bothered, they probably already left."
"That's weird, but it's fine, we'll let them know later," Marco said. "Come on, I'll get Nachos and you girls can ride with me."
"That's so awesome! We get to ride Nachos!" Marcy cheered as she followed Marco.
"I still find it strange he named his goat that considering Janna hypnotized him into hating Nachos," Amity said, following the two. "I should find a way to undo that for him."
Meanwhile in Wartwood, Sasha was explaining the situation and her plan to Buff Frog, "So I'm thinking since you have experience leading armies and fighting villains, that maybe you can help Higgs and I. We want to bring the fight to Andrias and Belos, hopefully destroy them both, but we can't do it alone."
"Yes, I see," Buff Frog said. "Does Star Butterfly know about this plan?"
"She thinks it's too dangerous, but I think we can pull it off," Sasha gestured to the girl beside her. "So does Higgs!"
"Yeah, totally," Higgs said. "We're two of Mewni's best knights after all."
"And we have Grime too," Sasha said, gesturing to the Toad.
"The Toad army will fight to the end," Grime promised.
"So, what do you say?" Sasha asked.
"It sounds risky, I do not wish to do anything that Star Butterfly does not agree with," Buff Frog said. "But if you can round up good army, and get her word, I will join you."
"Ugh, alright, I'll get back to you on that," Sasha said, making her leave. Grime, Higgs, let's go."
"Right behind you," Higgs said, following Sasha.
"Sure thing," Grime said, also following Sasha.
The three made their way out of Wartwood, both Higgs and Grime noticing Sasha's demeanor of frustration, each of them worried for the girl.
"This is total bullshit, how are we going to end this war if we don't strike now?" Sasha asked. "Like seriously? All we have to do is kill Belos and Andrias. Or at least one of them to handicap the other."
"To be fair, taking down Kind Andrias would be quite difficult, that's why we had to be sneaky about it weeks ago," Grime said. "And from the sound of things, Belos will be just as, if not, more difficult."
"I still say we go for it," Sasha said, surprising her allies. "Just the three of is."
Grime looked genuinely worried, "Sasha, I've always admired your guts, and how you are so willing to stare danger in the face with the snarkiest of grins. But, I must admit, this is too much."
"Are you kidding? Star wants to wait for her mother to get her memory back, it will take forever!" Sasha shouted.
"It may be the best course of action," Grime said. "Star is a very intelligent young girl, she knows what she's doing."
"I don't believe this, you're on her side now?" Sasha asked, stomping away. "I hate this so much!"
"Wow..." Higgs turned to Grime. "Is she always like this?"
"It's her greatest virtue, and her biggest flaw," Grime said. "Sasha has a soldier's determination, and experience beyond her years. But, she must know when to fight, and when to wait."
Higgs was understandably concerned, looking ahead in Sasha's direction, "I'm going to make sure she doesn't do anything foolish. You should head back to Wartwood."
"Honestly, I do not like it there, everyone keeps starting at me, like I'm going to hurt them," Grime said. "Like really, you invade and attempt to enslave a town once and they never let you forget it! So immature."
Higgs awkwardly raised her eyebrow, "Yeah...totally. I'm gonna go check on Sasha now."
"Yes, you do that," Grime said as Higgs left. He was left to ponder. "Perhaps Mr. Flour has those cakes I like, he's usually a friendly fellow."
As Sasha walked ahead, Higgs ran to catch up to her, "Sasha, wait up! What are you planning?"
"I'm going to Belos's castle, and ending it," Sasha said, surprising Higgs.
"Did you forget about what he did to Eclipsa?" Higgs asked. "You're going to get yourself killed!"
"I'll sneak up on him, I'm good with stealth," Sasha said, grabbing her scissors. "You can go home, but I'm ending this."
"No!" Higgs said, grabbing Sasha's arm.
"I'm not changing my mind, so if you want to keep that hand, then let me go," Sasha warned.
"At least let me join you," Higgs said.
"...I can't ask you to do that," Sasha said.
"I want to, I just don't have the conscious to ditch you," Higgs said. "I look after my fellow knights."
"...Fine, but stay close to me," Sasha said. "Are you good with stealth?"
"I've never done a stealth mission, I've only practiced," Higgs said.
"Well experience is a better teacher, and you're about to go from a tricycle to a motorcycle," Sasha said. "Think you can handle it?"
"Uh...I don't know what either of those things are, but I'm going to say 'yes' regardless," Higgs said.
"Alright, then lets go it," Sasha said, opening the portal.
Back in the Neverzone, Marco had flown himself along with Marcy and Amity to a cave in the mountains, right where Hekapoo and the Magic High Commission were said to be.
"This is it," Marco said. "You girls ready?"
"Ready as we can be," Amity said.
"Let's do it, then," Marco said, heading inside.
The three cautiously walked through the cave, keeping their weapons and battle items close, just in case trouble lurked.
"Stay close, if a monster's here-" Marco was interrupted when a giant cave monster tried to attack. "KILL IT!"
The three wasted no time attacking, Marco with his sword, Amity with her abomination and Marcy with her crossbow.
More monsters began to come from the other side, much to the annoyance of the trio.
"I hate this place sometimes," Amity said, sending abomination glove punches at the enemies while Marcy improvised with a piece of stalagmite and beat the monsters down.
Marco brought out his mace to finish a few off, keeping a distance. "I swear this trip better not have been for nothing!"
"Watch out!" Marcy called, gesturing to some oncoming monster bats.
Fortunately a few of them were encased in crystal while some magical scissors clipped the wings of the rest, with a magic blast sending them and the other monsters out of the cave.
"Whoa...that was close," Marco said, the boy turning around, coming into contact with some good news. "Finally, took me long enough to find you three."
Standing at the other end were the trio of Hekapoo, Rhombulus and Omnitrax Prime.
"Looks like we have guests," Omnitrax said. "Familiar ones too."
"Yeah...Is that you Marco?" Hekapoo asked.
"Hey H-Poo, it's been a while," Marco said, doing a gun click at the girl.
"...Yeah, it's definitely you with that lame cool guy attitude," Hekapoo lamented, taking note of the girls. "And it looks like you brought a few friends."
"Hi, it's me, Marcy, do you remember me?" Marcy asked.
"Yeah, you're Marco's girlfriend I think," Hekapoo said. "Assuming you're still together. Knowing Marco's luck, I can't make an accurate prediction."
"Wow, that's hurtful," Marco said. "Marcy is still my girlfriend."
"Well...to be fair, we did break up for a bit, but it didn't last," Marcy said, the girl blushing. "I was too in love with Marco to stay away."
"Wow, lucky you then Marco," Hekapoo said, then took note of the other girl. "And you...um. I don't remember which one you are."
"Amity," the girl said, "Might be my hair since in this dimension, it's more of my natural brown than purple, but I'm the witch girl from The Boiling Isles."
"Oh right," Hekapoo said. "Wow, you and Marcy grew up really well. If this is your future then you have a lot to look forward too. All the boys will be all over you."
"Well I'm taken, so sorry other boys," Marcy said.
"And I'm gay, though Marco's the only boy I'd make an exception for," Amity said. "But he's taken."
"Would have been an honor being the only boy you'd be straight for," Marco said. "Granted, does sexuality work like that?"
"Well you do dress like a girl sometimes, and you pull it off really well," Hekapoo said.
"Wow..." Marco said.
"How'd you find us?" Rhombulus asked.
"A friend of mine spotted you in town, she said you three were up here," Marco said.
"Looks like we could not disguise ourselves that well," Omnitrax said.
"I told you I needed a better hood, my head shape is very complicated," Rhombulus said.
"Well, you're here, so why did you come?" Hekapoo asked.
"To bring you back home," Marco said. "It's been weeks, or probably years for you. But still, it's been a long time."
"Yeah, we've been wondering about you," Marcy said. "We wanted to see how you were."
"Well, you saw us, now leave, we have no intention of going back," Hekapoo said.
"Why don't you?" Marco asked.
"Don't be stupid, you know what would happen," Hekapoo said. "Last time we were there, we helped Sasha and Grime betray you and Andrias. We were going to take over Amphibia, The Demon Realm and Mewni."
"There's no way Star would want us back after what we did," Rhombulus said. "If we went back, she'd probably throw us in the dungeon or something."
"You're not wrong," Amity said.
"Amity!" Marco scolded.
"Hey we need to be honest," Amity said. "Otherwise they won't trust us."
"Well thank you for the honesty, because now we know not to go back," Hekapoo said.
"Come on, just try talking things out with Star, maybe she'll forgive you," Marco said. "She forgave Sasha, and now Sasha's a knight."
Hekapoo's eyes widened in surprise, "Wait, really?"
"Yeah, we're all knights now," Marcy said. "Me, Marco, Amity, Luz, Anne, and the rest of our friends."
"Sasha even made a new friend named Higgs," Amity said. "She's a local Mewman but Sasha seems to like hanging out with her so far."
"Wow, so she became a knight huh?" Hekapoo asked, feeling happy for her friend. "Good for Sasha, I'm so proud of her. I'm happy her training's paid off."
"A lot has happened since Andrias betrayed us, and joined with Belos," Marco said. "I nearly bit the dust, we had to deal with The Golden Guard and his robot ally, both Belos and Andrias pretty much slandered Mewni while bragging about Meteora being the next heir to this empire they're after."
"And...Eclipsa's dead," Amity said.
Hekapoo's eyes widened, "She's what!?"
"She went after Belos, and he killed her," Amity said. "That's what Andrias told us."
"Whoa...I did not expect that," Hekapoo said in disbelief. "And right now, Belos still has Meteora."
"Yeah, he does," Marco said.
"So, he and Andrias tried having you killed a few times then, that's a bit troubling," Hekapoo said.
"We need to turn the tables against them somehow, and we need all the help we can get," Marco said. "If you know anyone else who might be able to help, then let us know."
"There isn't anyone else who can help," Omnitrax said.
"Yeah, Glossaryck only created us," Rhombulus said. "Well he also created Lekmet, but he's dead."
"There was another?" Marcy asked.
"Yes, and he's no more, thanks to Toffee," Omnitrax said.
"Geez, the more I hear about Toffee, the more I'm happy we won't have to deal with him," Marcy said.
"You should be," Omnitrax said. "He was quite dangerous after all."
"Isn't there anyone else?" Amity asked.
"There's also Reynaldo, but he retired after Queen Rhyna cast a spell on him," Rhombulus said.
"What did the spell do?" Marcy asked.
"It made him only speak in riddles," Rhombulus said. "It got really annoying."
"That's...such a dumb spell," Amity said in disbelief.
"Point is, he's useless," Rhombulus said. "So there's no one else who can help."
"There is one other person," Hekapoo said. "We can free Globgor."
Rhombulus began to freak out, "Are you kidding me!? We can't free that guy, he'll demolish us!"
"Globgor? Isn't that Eclipsa's monster lover?" Marco asked.
"Yeah, they had a secret romance despite Eclipsa being betrothed to this other guy," Rhombulus said. "It's how Meteora was born."
"After Globgor did away with Eclipsa's husband, he was encased in crystal," Omnitrax Prime said.
"Wait, he killed Eclipsa's husband?" Amity asked.
"Well it was his idea to trade Eclipsa away," Rhombulus said.
"Yeah, according to Star, you traded her to the Pie Folk, which is how Festivia Butterfly came into power," Marco said.
"I remember Festivia, we practically raised her," Hekapoo said. "She was a great Queen."
"You raised her to hate monsters though," Marco said.
"Yes, I'm aware," Hekapoo reluctantly admitted. "Look, I know we screwed up. We shouldn't have done what we did to Eclipsa, Globgor or Meteora, and maybe betraying you was a bad idea. But understand that our job is to keep Mewni safe, and we'll go to any lengths to do so."
"I know, which is why you can still make up for what you did," Marco said. "You have a chance to prove why you exist, to keep Mewni safe from danger. We need you, Mewni needs you. Please, you gotta come back."
"...Let us think about it," Hekapoo said.
"I suppose that's fair," Marco said, then gestured to the girls. "Come on, let's give them some time to think."
"I suppose that's fine, Moon still needs to recover," Amity said.
"Did you say 'Moon'?" Hekapoo asked.
"Hm? Oh yeah, Star found Moon on Pie Folk Island," Marco said. "With help from King River."
"Along with my friends, Willow and Gus," Amity said.
"Maddie helped too," Marcy said.
"Wow, so that's where she was?" Hekapoo asked, chuckling to herself. "How ironic that she returned to the home of her ancestors."
"How is that place?" Rhombulus asked.
"Well according to Star, there was nothing but a bunch of annoying scammers," Marco said.
"Yep, sounds like the Pie Folk," Rhombulus said. "Those guys freaking suck."
"Makes you trading Meteora to them that much crueler," Marcy said.
"Hey, at least we gave Festivia a better life," Rhombulus said. "I kind of miss that girl."
"As do I," Omnitrax said. "I miss a lot of the past Queens."
"Right, you've guys have been around forever," Marcy said.
"For hundreds of years, and that's a lot of Queens," Hekapoo said.
"My favorite was probably Solaria, she ruled!" Rhombulus said. "Uh, both literally and un-literally."
"Un-literally is not a word," Omnitrax said.
"What are you, my grammar teacher?" Rhombulus snapped back.
"Well, it's great that Moon's back, leaving that magic dimension is not easy," Hekapoo said. "Maybe we will come back, for at least one more run."
"Sounds awesome," Marco said, making his leave. "We'll leave you to it."
"Thanks for hearing us out," Marcy said, joining Marco.
"See ya," Amity said, waving good-bye as she made her own leave.
Hekapoo waved them off, a smile forming on her face. "Some things just don't change."
As Marco left the cave with the girls, the boy grabbed his dimensional scissors, "Mission accomplished, let's head home."
"Wait, what about our...alone time?" Marcy asked.
"Oh, you still want to do that?" Marco asked.
"Duh! I want your abs!" Marcy said, seductively hugging Marco. "Don't deny me your abs!"
"Hey, take it easy will you!" Marco said, a huge blush on his face. He turned his attention to Amity, the girl feeling slightly awkward. "Sorry, I know this is weird.:
"I think it's cute, Marcy's a lucky girl," Amity said, hiding the awkward. "Also you're a lucky guy, so it perfectly evens out."
"I think Marcy wants some alone time," Marco said. "Will you be fine..."
"Yeah...of course," Amity said, feeling a bit down. "You two are dating, and you should express your physical love to each other."
"See, she totally gets it," Marcy said.
"Okay..." Marco couldn't help but notice a sad demeanor on Amity's face. "Are you sure you'll be alright? It looks like something's bothering you."
"Nothing is, I'm just...yeah, it's really nothing," Amity said, pulling out her scissors. "I'll just uh..."
"Marcy, hold on," Marco said, Marcy respectfully backing up as Marco turned to Amity. "Listen, I know you don't like talking about your emotions, but if something's bothering you, then you can tell us. We won't judge."
"It's just, seeing you two together, it reminds me of something I can never have," Amity said. "I want to be happy, but the pain's still there."
"Are you...are you jealous of me and Marcy?" Marco asked.
"No, it's not you," Amity said. "I do envy both of you though. Marco, you already know how I feel about you. Marcy, you're a cute girl and one I wouldn't mind being with either."
"I'm flattered," Marcy said, now blushing herself.
"It's something else, but don't worry, it's nothing I can't handle," Amity said, about to leave. "I won't hold you off any longer."
"Amity," Marcy said, getting her attention. "Why don't you come with me and Marco a moment."
"Yeah, we can hold off a little longer for you," Marco said, wrapping his arm around Amity. "You're special to us after all."
"Thanks..." Amity hugged Marco herself. "Gotta say, you're pretty muscular. I don't care that much for a guy's big muscle, but I can feel the strong heart that guides them.:
"Come on," Marco held both girls close to him. "Let's find someplace private to talk."
Outside in Mewni, Luz and Anne had just hopped out of their portal.
"So, when they come out, will it even be in the same spot?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, they just need to imagine it and...oh, here they come now," Anne said, gesturing to Marco, the boy stepping through the portal with both Marcy and Amity, his arms wrapped around each girl, all three sporting blushes on their faces.
"Oh good, you made it," Luz said.
"We didn't take long, did we?" Marco asked, holding both girls close to him.
"No, you're fine," Luz said, finding Amity's expression rather curious, same with Marcy. "Uh, did something happen in there?"
"We just...talked," Marcy said. "Very intimately I might add."
"I just had a lot ot say, and suddenly, the three of us just connected," Amity said.
"Marcy and I helped Amity feel like part of us," Marco said.
"...Did something happen that we don't know about?" Anne said.
"It's a long story, but we do have something even more important to share," Amity said.
"Yeah, we found The Magic High Commission," Marco confirmed.
"Whoa, really!?" Anne asked. "That's so awesome!"
"Yeah, where'd you find them?" Luz asked.
"On top of a big cave," Marco confirmed. "They might come help us."
"Might?" Hekapoo asked, the girl stepping through with her brothers. "No, we're definitely coming to help."
"You made it!" Marco said.
"Yeah, we thought it over, and we want to make things right," Hekapoo said.
"We're with you all the way," Rhombulus said.
"It is our duty," Omnitrax said.
"That's amazing, wait till we tell Star!" Marco said.
"Actually, we need a bit more time before we got and talk to her," Hekapoo said. "Me and the boys will make preparations, but we need to approach Star with caution."
"Oh, that's fine," Marco said. "We're really glad you came."
"Well, you made a good argument," Hekapoo said, opening another portal. "I'll keep in touch."
"If anything changes, let us know," Rhombulus said as he and his team went through the portal.
"Wow, that's amazing!" Marco said, the boy looking elated. "Things are going well, we just need to wait for Moon to recover and we're back in business."
"Soon this whole mess will be behind us, and we can finally focus on making ourselves a better future," Amity said.
"...What will happen after we defeat Andrias and Belos?" Marco asked. "Does our adventure just end?"
"Only this one, we still got plenty more to do together," Anne said.
"Yeah, we're all friends after all," Luz said. "Maybe we can do more traveling, all across the multiverse."
"I'd like that," Marco said. "We should go find Sasha and let her know, she'll be happy to see her friend."
"Sounds good, but first, Luz and I...well, we should tell you something," Anne said, this getting her currently secret girlfriend's attention. "It's about something that very recently happened, at least it started around the Holidays."
"You want to tell them now?" Luz asked, the girl now very worried.
"Well yeah, these are our best friends, they should be the first to know," Anne said.
"Yeah but..." Luz glanced at Amity.
"Don't worry, I'm here with you," Anne said, taking the girl by the hand. "We'll do this together."
Luz still looked very nervous, but despite that, she took a deep breath and nodded her head. "Okay, I'm ready."
"So...what's going on?" Marcy asked.
"Yeah, what did you want to tell us?" Marco asked.
"Luz and I..." Anne held her hand tightly as she shut her eyes. "We're dating now!"
Despite her fears, Luz was quick to confirm it, also shutting her eyes in the process "That's right, Anne's my girlfriend, and I'm hers."
The three standing before them stood speechless. Amity knew, but Marco and Marcy didn't. Despite how awkward things may have looked, Marco was the first to react with a slow hand clap.
"Uh...congrats I guess?" Marco asked.
"That's it?" Anne asked. "No shock? No surprise?"
"Oh, we're definitely surprised, we're just still processing it," Marcy said.
"Yeah, I knew you two were close but, I didn't think you'd get that close," Marco said. "But, good on you. Uh, now you're a couple."
"So, you're cool with it, Marcy?" Anne asked.
"Why wouldn't I be? I like Luz, and as long as she treats you well, then I have no complaints," Marcy said.
"Marco?" Anne asked.
"I have no reason not to be okay with it, and even if I wasn't, that shouldn't matter," Marco said. "If you care about each other, screw what others think, just be happy."
"...Amity?" Luz asked, dreading the girl's reaction.
To her surprised, Amity didn't seem that sad. She could see a little disappointment in her yes, but she wasn't crying like she expected her to do.
"Luz, I really care about you, and you know that," Amity said. "As such, I want you to be happy. I can see that Anne makes you happy, so that's all that matters."
"But...didn't you feel...I mean, I thought you, well, you know," Luz said. "You weren't too shy about admitting that I was cute and..."
"Luz, it's fine," Amity said. "If I had to lose out to someone, I'm glad it's Anne. She's a great girl, and I know she'll treat you with the love and respect you deserve."
"Amity, I hope you're not just saying that to be nice," Anne said. "I really like Luz, and I'm not exactly willing to give her up. I would totally understand if you hated me for it."
"You're my friend Anne, I could never hate you," Amity said. "Luz and I just weren't meant to be, and I will be just fine moving on. She's a cute girl, but she's not the only one out there. It's fine, really."
"If you're sure," Anne said, still a little weided out.
"Look, I might get a little jealous at first but don't mind me," Amity said. "Just promise me you'll treat her well. I won't forgive you if you break Luz's heart, Anne."
"I won't," Anne said.
"Good," Amity said, placing her arm back around Marco. "You two have my full admiration, I will support you all the way."
"So will I," Marco said, bringing not only Amity close to him, but Marcy too.
"Same here," Marcy said.
"Now, let's go find Sasha," Marco said, leading Amity and Marcy away, leaving Luz and Anne curious.
"...Think the three of them...you know?" Luz asked.
"...Yeah, that place really does mess with the hormones," Anne said.
"That would explain why Amity was so chill, but how good would Marco have to have been to make her that chill?" Luz asked.
"Well, Marcy probably helped," Anne said. "Then again, this is just an assumption, might not have even happened."
"Yeah, sure," Luz said.
"Anyway, let's go find Sasha," Anne said.
"Wonder what she's up to right now?" Luz asked aloud.
Meanwhile in The Boiling Isles, Sasha and Higgs were sneaking around Belos's castle, managing to avoid all of the Coven Guards as they made their way to his throneroom.
Belos was looking over some documents while Meteora played with some toys beside him. She seemed to be at peace while Belos worked, the man looking irritated.
"Why must Odalia make these contracts needlessly complicated? Perhaps I should ask Terra or Raine to handle this," Belos said.
"Excuse me! Emperor Belos!" Ludo called.
"What is it?" Belos asked.
"Remember how you once desired to revive Toffee?" Ludo asked.
"Yes, I recall," Belos said, still looking over his documents.
"I think I know how we can," Ludo said, getting Belos's attention. "We'll use...TIME TRAVEL!"
"...You want to use Time Travel?" Belos asked.
"We go back in time to a point where Toffee was younger and mold him to being even better than he once was!" Ludo said.
"Interesting...and do you have a method of Time Travel?" Belos asked.
"Well...in a matter of speaking...no," Ludo said, the Kappa barely dodging a strike from Belos. "But-but, I can figure it out!"
Belos turned his hand back to normal, but not without maintaining his glare, "Do not in here unless you have an idea you actually thought through!"
"Yes, sorry sir, won't happen again!" Ludo said, frantically escaping. Once he was far away enough, the kappa grumbled in annoyance, "Foolish Emperor, if I could bring Toffee back, I'd love to see you two destroy each other out of sheer ego."
Despite his frustration, Belos's curiosity was raised as he contacted Newtopia, "King Andrias?"
On the other side, Andrias was munching some potato chips that some of his robots secretly snagged while chugging some soda and reading a book. "Ugh come on, what kind of plot twist was that!?"
"Andrias!" Came Belos's voice again, snapping Andrias out of it.
"Oh um, what is it Emperor Belos?" Andrias asked.
"Quick question, do you know anything about Time Travel?" Belos asked.
"Time Travel?" Andrias asked. "I am familiar with the concept, why do you know how to?"
"No, Ludo suggested the idea without thinking it through, so I was hoping maybe you would have a solution," Belos said.
"Sorry, that's beyond my expertise at the moment," Andrias said.
"Figures, sometimes I wonder why I even have henchmen if they're going to give me such useless ideas," Belos said.
"I know that feeling, it's like, they come up with theories and expect us to do all the work," Andrias said. "Anyone can come up with theories and ideas, but at least put it in motion. Like what are we even paying them for?"
"They're lucky they get anything at all, if anything they should be grateful I spare their life, " Belos said.
"That's what I'm thinking!" Andrias agreed.
While the two were chatting, Sasha turned her attention to Higgs, "On three, I leapt in and strike Belos with my sword, and if he's still alive, finish him off."
"Okay," Higgs said.
"Here we go, one, two and-" Suddenly Sasha was lifted by her neck, courtesy of one of Belos's vines.
"Looks like I have myself a little intruder, Andrias," Belos said.
"Intruder?" Andrias looked through the portal. "Ah, if it isn't Marcy's friend, Sasha. The girl who tried taking over my castle with that traitor, Grime. Remind me how well that turned out for you again?"
"Screw...you...!" Sasha struggled to speak.
"You were foolish to come here alone," Belos said, slamming the girl down. "Or were you hoping to get as lucky as you thought you were weeks back?"
"Take this!" Higgs went to attack but Belos knocked her away with ease as he sinisterly approached Sasha.
"I haven't forgotten that after all, you made my Coven look bad, but once I convinced everyone it was a fluke, things got a little better," Belos lifted her up again with his magic, generating a magic claw. "I could end you right now, further restore glory to my coven..."
"Oooh, wonder what's going to happen next?" Andrias asked, munching some chips as he observed from the portal.
"But...I think it might send a stronger message to keep you alive," Belos aggressively tossed Sasha against a pillar. "For now at least." He called out to his assistant. "Kikimora!"
"Sir!" Kikimora came running in with haste. "Did you need something?"
"Keep that girl imprisoned here for the moment," Belos said, gesturing to Sasha as he turned to Higgs. "I have other business to attend to."
"An intruder, I know just want to do with you," Kikimora said.
"This isn't over, I am going to-" Sasha was then wrapped up with a spell courtesy of Kikimora, the little imp satisfied with her work.
"Wonder if I should..." Andrias shook his head, "No, she won't make a good host. Hopefully she makes for good bait."
"As for you, my dear," Belos said, getting closer to Higgs.
"Back off!" Higgs ran at Belos with a dagger, but he effortlessly knocked her back, slamming her against the wall.
"Do not worry, I do not intend to take your life, I simply want you to send a message to Queen Star," Belos said, generating some magic. "Of course, after I am done with you, perhaps you will beg for the sweet mercy that is death."
"No...NO!" Higgs pleaded as Belos's sinister laugh echoed through the area, his magic slowly taking over.
Sasha's plan was a complete failure.
