Chapter 452: [450] Incident
Looking at Beatrice, whose figure was undeniably stunning, both Yuiri and Shio lowered their gazes.
When it came to feminine allure, there was no denying that they couldn't compare to Beatrice. They were mere unripe apples, while Beatrice was a perfectly ripened peach. There was no contest.
"Alright, if it's about charm, a woman like you—believe me, I could have as many as I wanted," August remarked, his tone casual but laced with authority.
"Really? I believe you," Beatrice responded with a smirk, nodding knowingly.
In any place, strength equaled privilege.
The two women before him had been sent by the Lion King Organization to Kojou, much like how two other agents had been sent to August's side. It was simple—if you had power, people would naturally seek to be in your favor. This was just how the world worked.
Not wanting to continue with idle chatter, August turned his attention back to the two women.
Under August's intense gaze, Yuiri slightly lowered her head, her shy nature making it difficult to meet his eyes. The attention of such a powerful man made her feel self-conscious.
On the other hand, Shio met his gaze with curiosity. Like most women, she was drawn to strength, and a man like August, with his overwhelming presence, naturally made a greater impression than someone like Kojou, who lacked the same power.
"Well, if you want to stay, then stay," August finally said, his voice calm and resolute.
"Thank you so much!" Yuiri exclaimed, bowing deeply in gratitude.
"Thanks," Shio echoed, though her voice was more reserved.
August waved them off, dismissing their thanks as he stood up to leave. There was someone waiting for him upstairs—Kanon, after all.
Though she was still young, and August had no desire to harm her, being with her brought him an unparalleled sense of peace. That feeling, a sense of tranquility that he cherished deeply, made him reluctant to part from her.
With August's departure, the atmosphere in the room immediately became awkward. Beatrice, Yuiri, and Shio exchanged unsure glances.
"Well, since the master has spoken, I'll show you to a room. You can stay here—after all, this entire building belongs to him," Beatrice offered, breaking the silence.
"Wait… the whole building belongs to him?" Shio asked, her voice filled with surprise. Though she didn't engage with the outside world much, she knew that an entire building was no small thing. It had to be worth a fortune.
"Yep," Beatrice replied, nodding. "It was actually a gift from the Lion King Organization to him as an apology."
"Apology?" Yuiri's brow furrowed.
"That's right. Your junior, Yukina Himeragi, claimed she was sent to monitor the master. That didn't sit well, and they almost killed her. In the end, your leader, came with those two women to apologize to him."
"Leader? You mean Shizuka-sama?"
"That's the one. But she's been defeated by the master twice."
"Impossible…"
Yuiri and Shio were stunned, their faces reflecting sheer disbelief. Koyomi Shizuka's name was synonymous with the Lion King Organization's top-tier combat strength. The fact that she had been defeated twice by August was hard for them to wrap their minds around.
Beatrice couldn't help but laugh at their reactions.
Bringing these two women back had been her carefully considered decision, and the goal was simple: to cause discomfort for Kojou Akatsuki, ideally to anger him completely.
This was the task August had given her, and she was determined to fulfill it perfectly.
Besides, they were two beautiful women—if they weren't taken into the harem, having them as a small treat was hardly a bad deal.
Not to mention, the mere fact that they were the "Blood Servants of the Fourth Primogenitor" made them highly valuable.
And in the future, once the word spread that the Fourth Primogenitor couldn't even protect his own mediums, that August had taken them, it would be a devastating blow to his reputation worldwide.
Stepping on the name of the Fourth Primogenitor, August would rise to become the new king.
Meanwhile, back on the top floor, Kanon and Natsuki were waiting for August.
"August-nii~"
As soon as August entered, Kanon joyfully ran toward him, wrapping her arms around him in an excited embrace.
Natsuki, who was nearby, visibly frowned at the sight. In her eyes, Kanon, this young girl, had completely lost her composure. She had fallen under August's spell just like every other woman driven mad by love. To her, it seemed no different from the others who let their emotions cloud their judgment.
August, holding Kanon's small hand, sat down opposite Natsuki, a playful yet knowing smile gracing his face.
To anyone watching, he seemed like a successful man with a girlfriend, teasing a single person from a place of smug satisfaction. He didn't say a word, but his expression spoke volumes, as if everything had already been said.
"What's the deal with those two women?" Natsuki was the first to break the silence.
"Those two? Beatrice brought them back. I had asked her to put some pressure on Kojou, but I didn't expect her to bring them back with her."
"Are you sure you didn't have a hand in it?"
"What would I want with them? While I do have a fondness for women, I'm not desperate."
"I think you're close enough."
August didn't bother to argue. He knew that no matter what he said, Natsuki wouldn't take the bait. In her mind, he had already been labeled a lecher.
However, Natsuki didn't seem overly concerned by this accusation. She viewed both Yukina Himeragi and the two women as nothing more than agents of the Lion King Organization. She had no fondness for them, and seeing them suffer didn't bother her at all.
"By the way, there have been several vampire attacks recently on Itogami Island."
"Huh? Why are you telling me this? I'm not an Anti-Demon Officer."
"You jerk, I'm asking if you know anything about it. Any leads?"
Natsuki knew about August's terrifying perceptive abilities, which was why she sought his insight on the matter.
"Vampires being attacked?" August raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, three incidents so far. All occurring on the outer edges of Itogami Island, in areas where the underworld operates."
"Could it be the demon faction's gangs?" August asked, contemplating the situation.
The demon faction was notoriously unstable, especially when so many of them congregated on Itogami Island. This often led to the formation of gang-like factions, populated mostly by beastmen and vampires who wreaked havoc on the island every day.
"No, I've investigated it. All of these vampires had their familiars taken."
"Infighting among their own?"
"Not exactly. While these vampires were severely wounded, they're still alive."
Suddenly, August's mind clicked. Vampires attacked, their familiars taken, and the vampires still alive—this situation sounded all too familiar. It mirrored the very first event he had encountered.
