Multiverse Gacha

Chapter 398: [396] Knows Everything!

The Empire, at the headquarters of the Jaegers.

Here, the former Jaegers and members of Night Raid had all gathered together to form the new Jaegers.

The only difference was that the Three Beasts were no longer present. All three had taken up positions as generals within the army.

As the most trusted and direct subordinates of Esdeath, they had been dispatched to the military to take over the forces that once belonged to General Budo and the Prime Minister.

With the addition of the dark seeds August had bestowed upon them, the Three Beasts had risen to become formidable powerhouses in this world.

"According to the latest intel, the Revolutionary Army has formed alliances with the southern tribes, western tribes, and northern tribes," Akame said calmly.

Najenda, now the new Prime Minister, had become the leader of the Jaegers, specifically the faction made up of former Night Raid members. While they were all part of the Jaegers, they retained their own smaller group dynamics.

"The northern tribes? Didn't Queen Esdeath annihilate them? Fifty thousand soldiers were massacred, and another forty thousand buried alive. Where did they get the forces for this alliance?" Dr. Stylish asked, puzzled. To him, Esdeath's wars were masterpieces of art.

"True, the capital of the northern tribes was destroyed, and many clans perished. But the northern territories are vast, and there were plenty of tribes that weren't involved in that war. Those remaining clans have now united into a new tribal army," Najenda explained.

"They should've been wiped out entirely back then. Then we wouldn't have this problem now," Kurome muttered, her tone ice-cold. She had no sympathy for the tribes, having spent years in the assassination unit targeting not just imperial traitors but also members of these tribes.

"Kurome…"

"That's enough, sis. I don't want to argue with you."

"I…"

Akame lowered her head, their sisterly conflict unresolved even now.

The others in the room remained silent. It wasn't their place to intervene in such personal matters.

"Those tribes were spared on purpose by Esdeath. Without the northern tribes, there would be no war," August, who had been silently listening, suddenly explained. Currently, August was the nominal leader of the Jaegers, not Esdeath.

"What?"

Everyone froze, especially the former members of Night Raid, who found his words hard to believe.

"And as for the war, you don't need to concern yourselves with it. That's Esdeath's domain. Your focus should be on maintaining order in the capital," August continued.

"How could that be? War isn't child's play, Lord August," Akame interjected.

"No, for Esdeath, a war like this is child's play," August replied matter-of-factly.

"According to reports, this alliance between the Revolutionary Army and the tribes has amassed an army of around 1.2 million soldiers. This isn't a battle that one individual can resolve," Akame argued.

"How many wars have you been part of, Akame?" August asked suddenly.

"I… I've never fought in a war," she admitted reluctantly.

"Then you don't understand. At Esdeath's level, numbers no longer matter."

Silence fell over the room.

Not just Akame, but everyone present was stunned into speechlessness.

How powerful must someone be to take on an army of 1.2 million singlehandedly? Was Esdeath even human? Or was she a god?

"Enough. There's no need for any of you to meddle. This war is a gift I've prepared for Esdeath. No one is allowed to interfere," August declared.

"A gift?"

"Exactly. Don't you know what Esdeath loves most?"

Of course, they knew. No one in the Empire was unaware of their queen's preferences.

First, war. Second, torturing and breaking her enemies to the point where they wished for death.

As queen, her subordinates had made it their mission to cater to her interests to win her favor.

"Besides, don't think you're off the hook. The remnants of Honest's faction are still out there," August reminded them.

"The remnants of Honest's faction?"

"Yes, his son, Syura, has gathered a group of Teigu users and joined the Revolutionary Army alliance," August revealed.

"The Revolutionary Army accepted Honest's son?"

Akame, Leone, and the others were floored. Was this still the Revolutionary Army they had once served? How had it come to this?

"How do you know Syura joined the alliance?" Mine asked skeptically.

"I guided him there. If the alliance lacked high-level combat power, they might not even have the courage to start the war," August replied nonchalantly.

"Wha—"

Again, August was at the center of everything. It seemed like nothing happened without his involvement.

The truth was, August had sent one of his devil maids to manipulate Syura. With the power of a high-ranking devil, finding and recruiting infamous criminals who wielded Teigu was child's play.

For August, this upcoming war between the Empire and the Revolutionary Army alliance was a necessity.

A war of this scale, with millions involved, would generate an unfathomable amount of negative energy if it ended in total annihilation.

That energy would allow August to restore his power to the Satan level. Although he had already cleansed the capital of countless nobles and elites, barely regaining his Demon King strength, the sheer amount of negative energy required for further advancement was astronomical.

"Oh, and about Syura—he wields the spatial Teigu, Shambhala. It allows him to freely traverse locations marked with spatial nodes. If you plan to take him down, you'll need to either kill him in one blow or sever the hand holding the Teigu," August added.

"You know even that?"

Wave, shocked by August's knowledge, could only gape.

"Of course. And for the record, Syura is easy to recognize. He has a black complexion with a white X-shaped scar on his face. He also commands five other Teigu users, who are…"

As August detailed each of Syura's subordinates, everyone present was stunned.

For assassins like Akame and Kurome, intelligence was the decisive factor in any battle.

And here August was, effortlessly laying out every critical detail before the fight had even begun.

At that moment, even Dr. Stylish dared not entertain any rebellious thoughts. He felt like August was waiting for him to make a mistake, just so he could eliminate him.
