Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Extraterritorial Demons
"Supreme Sorcerer, what's going on this time?"
Su Xiuyu couldn't help but feel a bit guilty every time he faced the Ancient One. After all, she had generously taught him the mystic arts of Kamar-Taj, and he had never really repaid her.
"Nothing too serious," the Ancient One replied calmly. "Today, I'm taking you to see some extradimensional demons—creatures from beyond this universe, from other dimensions."
"Alright," Su Xiuyu agreed without hesitation. He was intrigued by the idea of encountering life from other dimensions. Right now, he lacked a worthy opponent. While the Ancient One was powerful, Su Xiuyu didn't feel comfortable sparring with his teacher. As for Odin, the so-called God King, he hadn't had the chance to meet him yet.
The Ancient One opened a swirling portal and stepped through it, motioning for Su Xiuyu to follow.
On the other side, an endless, dark expanse stretched before them—filled with grotesque, chaotic creatures from countless dimensions. Calling them "demons" was almost too kind. They were hideous, with forms that screamed "villain" at a glance.
"Don't mind their appearance," the Ancient One said, reading his expression. "These beings are obsessed with devouring and consuming each other. Aesthetics mean nothing to them—they evolve purely for survival, not looks."
"...I didn't even say anything. How'd you know what I was thinking?"
"I had the same reaction the first time I saw them," she said with a smirk.
Su Xiuyu let out a breath, feeling oddly reassured. Apparently, it was hard not to judge appearances—no matter how enlightened someone claimed to be.
"There's a protective magic circle set up here that keeps these greedy predators at bay," the Ancient One explained. "But over time, their numbers build up. If we don't occasionally clean them out, the pressure on the barrier will eventually cause it to collapse. Today, I want you to help me with the purge."
Su Xiuyu nodded. It was only now that he realized the burden the Supreme Sorcerer carried. These dimensional demons seemed endless, constantly drawn toward Earth from across the multiverse. No wonder the Ancient One didn't concern herself with Earthly politics or wars—compared to the survival of the entire planet, those were minor nuisances.
"I just have one question," Su Xiuyu said, eyes narrowing. "How much strain can the magic circle take? Can I go all out?"
"I'll reinforce it. Don't hold back," she assured him.
"Good." Su Xiuyu closed his eyes, centering himself. In an instant, he entered Sage Mode.
"Wood Clones!"
Ten identical clones burst out and spread in different directions.
"Wood Release: Tree World Descent! x10!"
Under normal circumstances, just one Sage Mode clone could unleash a Tree World Descent that covered hundreds of kilometers. But now, with ten performing it simultaneously, the dimensional plain ahead was instantly swallowed by a growing forest of titanic trees.
Still, the horde of demons was nearly infinite. The moment one wave fell, more emerged from the dimensional rifts beyond, surging forward like a tide.
But the trees weren't just static defenses. Fueled by natural energy and empowered by chakra, the vast forest continued expanding, feeding on the ambient energy of this strange dimension. The demons might not wield chakra, but Wood Release didn't discriminate—it absorbed their vitality all the same.
Far off, the Ancient One observed in silence. While this wasn't the most elegant technique, it was highly effective against low-level dimensional invaders.
"Wood Release: Tree World Descent! x10!"
"Tree World Descent! x10!"
"Tree World Descent! x10!"
The repeated waves of Wood Release created an unending sea of green—a sprawling jungle consuming the battlefield.
Then—
"Bug!"
A monstrous demon emerged from a spatial rupture, towering and grotesque. Its clawed limbs swept through the jungle, clearing a massive path with a single motion.
"Damn, that's ugly," Su Xiuyu muttered. "Looks like it was randomly mashed together in a character generator."
"Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique! x10!"
Ten massive wooden dragons—each easily a kilometer long—erupted from the earth. One of them wrapped around the towering demon and swallowed it whole.
"Hashirama's jutsu really is insane," Su Xiuyu muttered, watching his clones rampage across the battlefield. Even so, the speed of their extermination barely kept up with the incoming demon waves.
"Sage Art: Wood Release—True Thousand Hands!"
Su Xiuyu's real body went all in. The colossal wooden Buddha loomed above them all, so massive its top faded into the sky. Like a relentless machine, it swept its countless arms in every direction, annihilating anything that approached.
The Ancient One looked on, expression unreadable.
"Ninjas truly have incredible potential," she said softly.
Of course, she misunderstood—Su Xiuyu was far beyond an ordinary ninja. At this point, he had already stepped into the realm of the Six Paths. Compared to a typical shinobi with a mere few decades of life, he was something else entirely.
Time dragged on. Even with Su Xiuyu doing most of the work, he was beginning to feel the mental toll. It wasn't exhaustion from chakra depletion or physical strain. It was boredom. Days of nonstop slaughter, surrounded by an unchanging, eerie landscape—more monotonous than any desert—had worn him down.
Yet now, the vast battleground was blanketed in a forest stretching as far as the eye could see.
Then, the unexpected happened.
The demons—those mindless, fearless beings—started to flee. They bolted in every direction, terrified of something far worse than Su Xiuyu.
"Su, stay sharp," the Ancient One warned. "Dormammu is coming."
These other demons were just cannon fodder. Dormammu was the real threat.
A deep, dark voice echoed from the abyss.
"Long time no see, Ancient One."
A massive face took form from the swirling black void—the lord of the Dark Dimension, Dormammu.
"Well, well… If it isn't the Ancient One. And who's this? Your little successor?"
Dormammu sneered, voice dripping with mockery.
"Boy, take my advice. Give up now. You think you'll fare better than her? Even the Ancient One has secretly used dark power. Do you think you'll come out of this clean?"
It was an obvious attempt to sow distrust between Su Xiuyu and the Ancient One. But Su Xiuyu didn't even flinch.
He already knew. He had long been aware that the Ancient One used dark energy to prolong her life.
With a ding, a black tin staff materialized in Su Xiuyu's hand. His hair turned stark white—the Six Paths Sage Mode activated.
"Dormammu, trying to negotiate with me now?" he said, voice cold. "You're wasting your breath."
"Think carefully, mortal," Dormammu rumbled. "I can offer you eternal life."
Dormammu wasn't angry—yet. That momentary surge of energy from Su Xiuyu had unsettled him. He could sense it. This man might actually be on his level.
But bargaining… was always the first move.
-------------------------
"Eternal life? Dormammu, come on—don't try to fool me with that nonsense. You think you're Death or Eternity now? You don't even possess eternal life yourself, so how dare you promise it to me?" Su Xiuyu's voice was calm, but laced with scorn.
Dormammu's massive face rippled in the void. "So, you know of Death and Eternity... But so what? I am Dormammu!"
"Susanoo!"
With a roar, the Susanoo materialized—powered by the Six Paths—and surged to a size that rivaled small celestial bodies. Fully formed and radiating energy, the giant construct raised its blade, a weapon infused with both Six Paths chakra and Kamar-Taj sorcery.
The blade came crashing down on Dormammu.
"Aaagh! Insolent mortal, you've angered me!" Dormammu howled, pain lacing his voice. The attack didn't seriously injure him, but it clearly hurt, and that was enough to piss him off.
In retaliation, Dormammu unleashed a torrent of dark energy the size of an asteroid from his distorted face. But the Susanoo raised its shield and blocked the devastating wave. Though Su Xiuyu remained unharmed, the surrounding dimensional demons weren't as lucky. Dormammu's reckless outburst wiped out hordes of them—collateral damage of a cosmic tantrum.
The battle had only just begun.
Su Xiuyu and Dormammu clashed fiercely in the void, their conflict shaking the very fabric of the dimension. Stars dimmed, and time itself seemed to blur under the sheer pressure of their attacks. Though there was no sun or moon here, if there were, they'd have been eclipsed by the chaos.
Back on Earth, the Ancient One stood silently, maintaining a layered protection spell. Her priority was preventing the destruction from spilling into the mortal realm. In truth, this was the easiest time she had ever had dealing with Dormammu. Sure, she could use the Eye of Agamotto to trap or deter him, but landing a decisive blow? That was never her strength.
Su Xiuyu, on the other hand, specialized in overwhelming power—massive area-of-effect techniques and wide-scale destruction. Against a singular planetary-level foe like Dormammu, he held his own. A general among gods.
For an entire month, their battle raged within the dimension, with neither side able to claim victory.
"Mortal... enough." Dormammu finally spoke, his voice heavy with exhaustion. "Keep this up, and you'll be the only one to lose. I am the ruler of the Dark Dimension. My energy is limitless."
He was bluffing—mostly. While he wasn't in danger of death, the pain was real, and worse, he'd burned through a significant portion of his dark energy reserves. Energy he had spent eons collecting through planetary consumption. And unlike the Vishanti, Dormammu still had limits—painful ones.
Then Su Xiuyu smirked.
"Dormammu, take a closer look. Recognize this?" He raised Susanoo's shield and invoked a sacred spell from Kamar-Taj. "Shield of Silas."
That's right—he had no issue mixing Six Paths chakra with white magic. If the Vishanti had a problem with it, well, they'd have to take it up with him personally. Worst-case scenario? He could always dip into dark energy. Plus, his Otsutsuki lineage meant his chakra recovery speed was absurd. He wasn't running out any time soon.
"You dare wield light and dark together?" Dormammu's voice trembled, more out of frustration than fear. "Mortal, do you truly want to die here? Then follow me. Come into the heart of the Dark Dimension. Let's finish this."
With that, Dormammu withdrew. He didn't wait to see if Su Xiuyu would accept the challenge. He needed to recover.
Of course, Su Xiuyu didn't chase him. Dormammu's true form was anchored within the Dark Dimension. Facing him there would be suicide.
Still, the clash wasn't a waste.
Su Xiuyu had tested his limits. His strength now stood at a single-universe level—comparable to Ancient One, perhaps slightly superior in raw combat ability, though likely a tier below Odin due to the Asgardian's combat experience and vast arsenal of magical relics.
Asgard was definitely worth checking out.
"Thank you for your help today," the Ancient One said softly, her hands pressed together in a gesture of respect. "If you weren't uninterested in the title, I'd have named you the next Sorcerer Supreme."
"You're being too kind, Master Ancient One. Honestly, I knew you could have handled it. I just used this chance to test myself. I didn't really 'help' much."
"I see. Then let me answer your questions—ask them freely."
"Alright. First… if I use the power of the Vishanti extensively, will I offend them? Second… you seem indifferent to your own life. Is there truly nothing left in this world worth holding onto?"
The Ancient One was silent for a moment.
It was rare—perhaps unprecedented—that someone saw through her so clearly.
"I've lived for hundreds of years," she finally said. "Protected this world longer than most civilizations have lasted. Even with dark magic prolonging my life, my body is rotting. My mind weary. And every moment I draw power from the Dark Dimension, I walk a tightrope—one misstep, and Dormammu could claim me. It's exhausting."
She paused, then added in perfect Mandarin, "And yes, perhaps I'm simply tired of seeing the world change again and again."
Su Xiuyu blinked. "You know Chinese?"
"Why wouldn't I? I've had centuries to learn. Kamar-Taj is nestled in the Himalayas, after all. Mandarin is hardly the hardest language I've studied."
"My apologies," Su Xiuyu chuckled. "I didn't mean to sound surprised."
He hesitated for a moment. "But… if you ever truly feel done with this world, come find me. I think there are still endless mysteries to uncover. Dying would be… boring."
The Ancient One smiled gently and bowed. "I'll consider your offer seriously."
With that, they parted ways.
Su Xiuyu opened a portal and returned to Earth.
The moment he arrived, a blur of red hair tackled him.
"Xiu Yu! You've been gone over a month!" Uzumaki Mito pouted, her arms wrapped tightly around him. "You said you'd be back soon!"
"Yeah… things got a little out of hand." He scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
Chisato stood nearby, her face flushed but silent. It was clear she'd missed him too.
Su Xiuyu smiled and sat down with them, recounting everything that had happened—his duel with Dormammu, the scale of the battle, the month-long standoff.
Mito and Chisato were shocked. They had always known Su Xiuyu was powerful, but this? Battling a literal dark god to a standstill? It was on another level entirely.
"So… you're really at planetary-level strength now?" Mito asked, wide-eyed.
"Yeah. Comparable to the Sage of Six Paths. I'd call it a planetary class of power. Of course, even at this level, there are vast differences in strength—wider than the gap between a Genin and Hashirama. But yes, I've reached the Six Paths tier."
Mito fell silent for a second… then blurted out, "Does that mean it'll be even harder for us to have kids?"
The room went dead silent.
She instantly turned crimson, regretting the question the moment it escaped her lips.
Su Xiuyu chuckled and gently ruffled both her and Chisato heads.
"Don't worry about that. We've got time. Plenty of time. Let's grow stronger together—and let life happen naturally."
