Then she pointed at Jian Manhui, "This one's impressive, a top lawyer, renowned in the legal field."
And pointing at Kang Xiaolan, "Her? Used to be a spoiled rich girl with nothing to do, now demoted to a cook."
Kang Xiaolan immediately glared at Yan Yirou with furrowed brows.
Yan Yirou ignored Kang Xiaolan's menacing gaze and continued, pointing at Gong Yining, "This one's also extraordinary, a famous ballet dancer."
Su Wanxia suddenly felt a sense of how time changes everything. Six years ago, each one was a carefree girl, and now they've all made something of themselves. Time, indeed, is a weapon that can change everything.
"What about you, Wanxia?" Yan Yirou asked Su Wanxia in return.
The others also widened their eyes, looking at her.
Su Wanxia was known not only as the beauty of Hill University but also as a prodigious talent.
She smiled slightly, instantly dazzling the others with her charm. A beauty queen through and through, her smile had the power to overturn states and cities.
"You all know I've always loved the architectural field. After going abroad, I focused on design and naturally ended up working in this industry."
"Wow."
"Wow," her friends gasped in admiration.
"Wanxia, you have real determination, always sticking to your dream," Yan Yirou said admiringly, truly from the bottom of her heart. "Hehe, as long as you persevere, there's always a chance to achieve it," Su Wanxia mused.
"But, seeing you all again, I'm really happy," Su Wanxia raised her glass, "Thank you for not forgetting me."
"Wanxia, we'll be friends for life," said Yan Yirou, also feeling sentimental. It's not easy to find such close friends in a lifetime.
"Let's toast to friendship," Jian Manhui called out loudly.
"Cheers."
"Cheers."
After the meal, Su Wanxia was very happy. For the first time in six years, she felt a sense of relaxation, as if all the burdens on her mind and body had vanished, leaving her feeling incredibly light.
After dinner, they sat around chatting idly. Jian Manhui suggested they go out to Happy tonight, but Su Wanxia declined as she wanted to go home first, to the place she had not seen in six years.
Leaving Yan Yirou's house, Su Wanxia drove toward the East District of C City.
The East District of C City was where the nobility lived, with its row upon row of luxurious villas giving Su Wanxia a strange feeling of unfamiliarity.
She mocked herself with a wry smile, realizing so much had changed in six years.
Parking her car in front of a villa, she looked through the glass at her home, which she had missed for six years, and felt a bittersweet emotion spreading throughout her body.
After collecting her emotions, she got out of the car and gently rang the doorbell.
A minute passed before the door clicked open, and Su Wanxia's heart skipped a beat as well.
A woman in her thirties peered out and was momentarily stunned to see Su Wanxia, then smiled broadly and politely asked, "Miss, may I help you?"
"Liu Sao, who is it?" A familiar, gentle voice called from inside.
Footsteps approached the door, and when Su Wanxia's mother saw who was outside, she was instantly stunned, her mouth agape in disbelief.
Seeing her mother, who had obviously aged a lot, Su Wanxia's eyes turned red. She rushed forward to embrace her mother's shoulders, her voice choked with emotion, "Mom, I'm back!"
Her mother finally came to her senses, tears streaming down her face: "Xiaxia, is it really you? You've come back. Do you know how much your dad and I have missed you?"
"They were too cruel, not letting us contact you. We didn't even know if you were alright over there."
```
"Xiaxia, we're really useless," Su's mother said, her voice choked with tears as she clung to Su Wanxia as if she might disappear.
"Mom, it's okay now, haven't I come back?"
"It's good you've returned, it's good," Su's mother finally released Su Wanxia and wiped away her tears.
She turned to Liu's wife, who was standing by in confusion, and instructed her joyfully, "Liu's wife, this is Wanxia; she has returned from abroad."
Su Wanxia smiled at Liu's wife.
Liu's wife then said, "So it's Miss, I thought she looked somewhat familiar, she really does resemble Madam."
Su's mother's face was full of smiles, "Of course, hehe, Liu's wife, please tidy up Wanxia's room properly. It's been unoccupied for so long, many things are no longer in use."
"Yes, Madam, I'll go clean up right away."
Su's mother pulled Wanxia to sit down in the living room and looked her up and down.
From time to time, she would remark that Xiaxia wasn't as chubby as before, but that she had grown even more beautiful.
Su Wanxia felt overwhelmed with happiness, resting her head on Su's mother's shoulder, she softly said, "Mom, to be honest, how have you and Dad been all these years?"
Su's mother let out a soft sigh, "We've been very well, it's just that we've been uneasy without you by our side."
"The Mu family hasn't troubled our Su family anymore, and the business has been slowly improving over the years."
Having said that, she looked at Su Wanxia with some concern, "But, Xiaxia. The day after you left, Yingchen came to our house."
Su's mother cautiously glanced at Su Wanxia, and seeing that her daughter showed no signs of distress, she continued, "He wouldn't believe that you had gone abroad, no matter what we told him. He stayed from morning until night, waiting for you, and when he still didn't see you, he left in a daze, and then he never came back."
Su Wanxia maintained her smile, seeing her mother worried, and said calmly, "Mom, let's not talk about the past; I'm doing very well now."
Then she coquettishly wrapped her arms around Su's mother's neck, "Is Dad at the company? When will he be back?"
"Hehe, you! He will be back at 7 o'clock tonight," Su's mother affectionately tapped Su Wanxia's nose, glad that her daughter could let go of the past.
"In a while, Liu's wife will go out to buy some groceries, and I'll cook your favorite dishes for you."
"Great, I haven't had them for six years, I've been so looking forward to it," Su Wanxia said with a pitiful look.
"You're 25 and still act like you used to, always whining and pretending to be pitiful."
"So what if I'm 25? Can't I act spoilt anymore?"
"Of course, you can, you can be spoilt at any age," Su's mother was helpless against her daughter's charm.
"Mom, I'll go upstairs and help Liu's wife tidy up the room."
"Let's go, I'll come with you."
Su Wanxia stood up, carrying the suitcase she brought back from overseas, and headed upstairs with Su's mother.
It took about an hour to tidy up the room and put everything in order.
Then Liu's wife went out to buy groceries while Su's mother helped sort and put away the things Su Wanxia had brought back.
She looked up to see the golden invitation Su Wanxia had just taken out of the suitcase.
Su's mother was puzzled, "Xiaxia, you just got back today, where did this invitation come from?"
Su Wanxia's cool nature surfaced in an instant as she waved the invitation in front of her mother, acting mysteriously, "Mom, guess?"
