Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Bygones
Three people took their seats.
Shen Hongyi looked toward Tang Yan and tentatively said, "Mr. Tang, do you know Jin Mo?"
Tang Yan's thin lips parted slightly, his gaze fixed on Jin Mo with harshness.
"I wouldn't say I know her, I've just heard of her."
How could he forget this annoying woman? His peaceful junior high school life had been thoroughly disrupted by her.
Jin Mo lowered her eyes, feeling a sourness in her heart. Tang Yan's presence undoubtedly reopened her wounds, making her realize how embarrassing her current situation was.
She bit her lip and looked up again, a faint smile on her face, "Mr. Tang, thank you for choosing Shuxin Interior. Let me now introduce the plan to you. We initially set it to a European style of decoration, mainly in white..."
"Sign the contract," Tang Yan interrupted Jin Mo.
Jin Mo and Shen Hongyi were stunned.
"Regarding the villa's decoration, you can decide on your own. I have only one requirement, that is all of the designs must be completed by Jin Mo alone."
Tang Yan glanced at Jin Mo indifferently.
Shen Hongyi, having been in the business for many years, had never encountered such a straightforward client, but this project was too large for one person to handle, and would be very strenuous.
Being experienced, he could see the unclear relationship between Tang Yan and Jin Mo. Whether to take this project or not depended on Jin Mo's decision. If she was unwilling, he would not force her.
Jin Mo looked at Shen Hongyi's inquiring eyes, feeling conflicted.
Originally, Jin Mo did not want to design the villa for Tang Yan because she had once had feelings for him and did not want to let him see her current desolate state, preserving the last bit of her pride.
But...
The debt collectors and threats from the small loan company, along with the basic expenses at home, all told Jin Mo not to let go of this opportunity.
Taking this project would alleviate her difficulties.
"Thank you, Mr. Tang, for your appreciation."
Jin Mo looked up into his eyes, which were cold and clear.
Tang Yan signed the contract, and after exchanging phone numbers, they hurriedly left.
In the car.
Jin Mo, sitting in the passenger seat, took a long breath.
"A few years ago, the Tang Family experienced a massive fire. The CEO of the Tang Group, Tang Jingli, and his wife and child perished in the blaze. Afterwards, Tang Yan emerged as the heir to the Tang Group, which is now very famous both domestically and internationally."
Shen Hongyi's words confused Jin Mo, "What are you trying to say exactly?"
"I mean, Tang Yan is not suitable for you. He's a wolf, and you, just a little rabbit." Shen Hongyi smiled meaningfully, causing a sudden tightness in Jin Mo's heart.
More than one person had said that Tang Yan was not suitable for her.
However, in the past, she was the wolf, and Tang Yan the little rabbit.
Memories seemed to flash back to when she was fifteen. The Jin Family was then the leading wealthy family in Ningjiang City, and Jin Mo herself was a domineering, pampered young lady.
To mention how prestigious Jin Mo was, even in the elite gathering at Renhe School where each term's tuition fee was hundreds of thousands, she could walk sideways.
In school and at home, being a cherished girl, she gradually developed a spoiled, overbearing, and unruly character.
A saying circulated at Renhe: if you want to stay, never offend Jin Mo.
The day she met Tang Yan was one afternoon.
Following Jin Mo was a group of close girlfriends, wearing short skirts, their hair tied in ponytails, making up a picturesque scene at Renhe.
Who doesn't like a good-looking wealthy woman?
Anyone close to Jin Mo could skip decades of toil.
As she walked past the basketball court with a lollipop in her mouth, she saw Tang Yan.
The fifteen-year-old boy, radiating youthful energy, had just finished a slam dunk, looking sleek and handsome among a bunch of still-short boys, conspicuously standing out.
In that moment, Jin Mo distinctly felt her heart beat faster.
