Chapter 345: Rank 3 Beast.
The two of them are in a cooperative relationship. Arthur killed and served as infantry while Thor served as the armored tank.
The two of them have serve different purposes and have different specialties, which is one of the reasons why Arthur was willing to work with Thor.
Thor provides something that he doesn't possess. This makes them better when they work together.
Arthur marched through the forest looking like a blue humanoid wolf. He had a white robe loosely draped around his shoulders.
There was a giant golden sword in his hand and a golden boy on his back. No beast could survive a single hit from him. That changed until they encountered their first rank 3 beast.
The rank 3 beast was a bull. It was leading a herd of cattle to escape from something. Arthur and Thor were in its way, so it rushed towards them to mow them down.
Arthur narrowed his eyes at the bull and said to Thor, "Watch and back me up if necessary."
Thor nodded and backed off with Roar to watch from a distance.
As for Arthur, he stuck the giant sword into the ground. The sword was as tall as him, so half of its blade was stuck in the ground in order to put the handle of the sword at the level of his waist.
After freeing his hands, he took out his golden bow and began to charge it. He used lightning to charge it, which caused the arrow formed within it to be blue.
His internal energy was the wood element, but he could convert it into lightning by using the lightning mark in his mind. This is something that no one in the entire history of the Blood Skull sect has been able to do.
The blue arrow cackled and created sparks as he pulled the bowstring of the arrow back. Then the arrow flew after he let it loose.
The arrow broke the sound barrier many times. This isn't because he is very powerful. The speed of the lightning is an innate property of it due to the nature of the element that it was made from.
For the bull, it heard a loud thunderclap and saw a flash of blue light. The roar and the flash got larger in its vision as if a comet was about to strike it. Then half of its vision disappeared as the blue arrow sank into its eye.
The bull moped in pain and anger. But it didn't stop rushing towards Arthur. It only stuck its head low and presented its huge horns as a shield to protect its head.
As soon as it did this, a blue comet streaked through the air and smashed against its head. The comet failed to penetrate its skull and just exploded.
The explosion of the blue comet caused a lot of lightning to be discharged. But the worst thing the lightning could do was scorch the bull's fur and make it angrier.
Arthur saw this and ignored the bull at the head of the stampeding herd. Instead, he turned his focus to the cattle running beside the bull and began picking them off one by one.
The bull was powerful enough for him to deal with. He didn't want to be surrounded by the other cattle in the herd during the fight. He also didn't want the herd to trouble Roar and Thor during his fight.
As soon as he made his decision, blue comets flew through the air and smashed into the herd. The roar of the air as the sound barrier was broken again and again became incessant. The roar of pain coming from the herd only made things worse.
There was only one rank 3 bull in the herd. The rest were rank 2 beasts, so they couldn't shrug off lightning arrows with the power of 200 units.
The body of rank 2 beasts is still at the tenth transformation of the first mortal coil. The reason it can show greater power is because this weak flesh can be reinforced by life force. Unfortunately, their life force wasn't powerful enough to defend them from Arthur's power.
The lightning arrows struck the cattle and melted their life force before entering their flesh and burning it. Even if the beasts in the herd didn't die with a single hit, the lightning would paralyze them and cause them to become stumbling blocks to the beasts behind them.
Being a stumbling block is the best scenario for any of the rank 2 beasts that he targeted. For most of them, the arrow directly bisected them.
A beast was hit in the shoulder and immediately lost feeling in half of its body. The arrow went through the shoulder and chest all the while burning everything it passed by.
When the arrow was done, there was a large gaping tunnel that led from the shoulder of the beast to its guts. Despite the massive injury, there was no bleeding because the wound had been cauterized.
This beast wasn't lucky. It became one of the many who died and also became stumbling blocks to hinder the progress of the whole herd.
In the 30 seconds that it took the bull at the head to reach Arthur, 21 large rank 2 beasts had been killed and their bodies had been used to separate the herd from the bull.
Arthur put away the bow and grabbed his giant sword. He pulled the sword out of the ground and said to Bull, "It's just you and me now."
The bull was as big as a two-story building, but he wasn't afraid. He did take the fight seriously, though.
He had to take the bull seriously because he could sense that the bull was ten times stronger than a peak second mortal coil cultivator. So he activated his divine lightning armament.
His blue fur lit up, and lightning began to snake across it. His eyes began to glow a blue glow, which caused the lightning flickering across the fur and around his body to become more violent.
