The Pinnacle
[Tai Lung's POV]
I was running low on chi and it would do no good to continue fighting recklessly so I took the time to go to a secluded place and I began trying to find a way to refill my chi.
The momentum of the battle was on our side but it won't last long. Numbers mattered, especially in the long run and the enemies - cultivators - were annoyingly durable and had obscene stamina due to thier techniques. A long-drawn battle was favourable to them.
But my side would be exhausted by the time night fell.
So I needed to figure out a way to grasp victory before my allies became tired and exhausted like me.
It might sound stupid - to train in the middle of a war but I beg to differ. It was the best time because when everything was on the line, when your success could dictate life and death, that was when you made the most progress.
That was when you make a breakthrough.
"Let's see here now." I said and sat down on the cracked earth hidden behind two fallen towers.
I had not delved into the nature of my chi as much as I should have. I was like a swordsman who worried more about how to swing a sword rather than how it was made.
But to achieve what I wanted, I needed to go back and delve deeper into mastering chi. Just knowing how to control it was not enough.
I had two chis, which was neither a new discovery nor a strange fact to me. I knew exactly why I had two different chi and I had known about this for over a year now.
And yet I had never delved deeper into it. I never tired finding out what advantage or disadvantage this gave me other than doubling my original chi.
I started by trying to move my chi throughout my body like I had seen Samudragupta do. It was quite difficult, as I had to control two separate chi that were completely different in nature.
I spent a few minutes trying to achieve results but other than feeling my sore muscles heal and enhancing,I did not get the result I was hoping for.
So I focused harder.
I was facing the unique challenge of controlling two chi at once which made it difficult for me to cultivate. Where a normal cultivator struggled, I had to struggle twice that.
This was annoying,
I clicked my tongue. If I wanted to cultivate properly, I would have to deal with this problem first. I racked my brain and closed off the rest of the world, looking for answers.
The solution that came to my mind was rather simple.
Why not just fuse them?
If I was having difficulties controlling two of them, why couldn't I just make them into one? Both of them were undoubtedly my chi anyway and I was Tai Lung.
One soul with two lives.
So I tried doing that. It was difficult at first, like trying to connect the same pole of a magent, they repelled each other.
They were oil and water, they just wouldn't mix no matter how much I tried. But I was far from giving up as I found another way.
I closed my eyes and focused only on the chi inside of me. A mental image of my chi appeared in my mind. There was a blue chi in the middle and it was covered by a white chi, giving it a shell.
I controllee both chi and started dragging them around. My aim was to circulate them ans create a vortex that would alwoly merge the two energies. And that was what I did.
it took time and mental energy. My two chi started circulating and there was no longer an outer or inner chi. They both spun around each other like two fish trying to eat each other's tails.
They made the symbol of yin and yang.
It was the coexistence of two energies that should never meet. They originated from two entirely different worlds.
While my white chi was more attuned to fueling my techniques, the blue chi was always better at healing. They were complete opposites, they should have never been one.
A human and an animal.
Good and bad.
Two sides of the same coin.
Defying logic, they were one.
I felt heat travelling up my body and strength I never knew I had returned to me as if I always had that kind of strength.
I felt every cell in my body rejuvenated and as two of my chi spun together, the feeling only got stronger and more intense.
They felt like an engine, creating newfound energy as they revolved around each other. I did not know what was going on so i opened my eyes in surprised but I was only greeted with a more shocking scene.
"What?" I muttered out as I saw my hands. My fur was releasing a glow of white and blue. A sizzle of lightning coursed throughout my body.
I couldn't help but smile as I examined my body. I did not know what was going on but it felt good. It felt right.
The glowing of my body got brighter and brighter until it felt like I was overflowing with strength. It was too much.
It did not hurt, the only feeling I got was completeness. Like I was finally what I was meant to be. I looked to the sky, the light of my body became blinding and I released a roar.
And with that, my body exploded in a brilliant light of blue and white lightning. It came out like a wave and lit up the darkening sky.
The battlefield got quiet after the explosion. Everyone looked towards me with myriads of emotions but all were curious about what just happened.
I laughed.
"Hahahahahaha." I couldn't hold myself back from laughing like a villain when I finally realized what I had in my hand.
Infinite power.
I kneeled down and then revolved the chi inside of me again. They circled against each other in a yin-yang symbol and when i felt power course through my body again, I did not allow it to explode out.
Instead, I compressed it and then shoved it inside of my body. It felt like swallowing an object and then the energy turned into my chi. A crack of lightning burned the ground.
A quarter of my chi was instantly filled up. My laughter grew more eerie and louder.
I continued the same process. My body released a deep vibration and it glowed bright blue whenever I filled up my chi. And after four more times, I was completely filled with energy again.
As if I had never fought in the first place.
It was a defiance of the fundamental laws of the universe itself. To create energy from nothing. But that was what I did.
That was what I achieved
Dark clouds rolled in the sky and churned in anger. A crack of lightning lit up the sky as the afternoon turned into the night under my laughter.
The change of weather was almost instantaneous. It was a protest of the world. The anger of the universe.
I did not know how it worked. Maybe it was similar to how lightings were created with two negative charges. Or maybe it was more similar to nuclear fusion?
The only thing I knew was that I found an absolute hack.
It was power no mortal should ever behold.
This was it.
This was the pinnacle of my strength.

Author : Sheesh. Maybe he is too OP now.
This would likely be the final power up for Tai Lung. We are getting near the end boys. I have thought about giving this powerup since before I even started the story. I even hinted his lighting affinity in the early chapters.
This would be fun.
Would Kai be able to at least match Tai Lung with his immortality and the shit ton of chi he is about to steal from the dead soldiers of the Gupta Empire?
We will see.
The next chapters would conclude the arc.
Thanks for reading and I wouldn't mind a stone.
