More than a dragon Warrior

Demi-Humans

[3rd POV]

The Emperor of Tibet was sitting on his rightful throne as he gazed upon the stillness and silence of his hall.

There were no guards around, just as he ordered and it was only himself that occupied the whole space.

He was dressed in a regal attire worthy of an Emperor and as he adopted a thoughtful look on his face, he was playing with his horns.

But then the sound of the grand entrance opening broke the stillness and silence of the room.

"My Lord, she has come." a guard said from the opening door.

"Let her in." The Emperor commanded.

Then the person whom he had summoned came into the empty meeting hall. The guard went out and after that, the door was shut tight and heavily guarded.

It was to make sure no one would listen in on the conversation that was about to take place. The Emperor did not even trust his right-hand man for this important task.

The person whom he had summoned strode into the hall in a rhythmic pace that echoed through the silence.

The Emperor observed her carefully, at the key factor of the plan he had in mind.

A plan that would bring down a God.

"You have summoned me Emperor." She said, her voice was soft and tender. It held the innocence of someone who has never wronged others.

"What for?" She asked even before she reached him.

If only the innocence in her voice was true, the Emperor thought to himself. She should not be judged by her voice or her seemingly harmless body and mannerisms.

Because she was anything but.

She was someone who had to bear the greed and hatred of the world since she had taken her first breath. No one could go through what she went through and retain their innocence.

The road of her life had been painted with nothing but corpses and blood.

He knew that because he was the one who forced her to take that road. A road that had nothing but death in it. She had only seen the worst in people.

Such was the price to be born as special as her.

Such was the price of the gift she holds.

Such was the life of a human.

"Mei." The Emperor called out her name and he was pleased at the way her ears twitched at his call.

In a world where everyone wanted to use her, feared her and hated her, he might as well have been the closest thing to a father she had. The only one who even had a tiny bit of actual love for her.

He had taken care of her since she was but a small child.

Humans, the weakest and most worthless species in the animal kingdom. Their species has been associated with ugliness and slavery ever since animals have gained intelligence.

It was not that they were particularly bad at anything, they were just not good for anything else other than their slightly remarkable stamina and endurance.

They had one of the worst senses among all the animals, and not just with one but with every senses that existed. They had no claws, no fangs, no wings, no fur, no scales, no nothing. They were also not built for speed, strength, or defence. Heck, they couldn't even use all of their weak little limbs to walk, they were built to stand upright and upright only.

And out of all the animals in the world, they had the least amount of Chi. The quantity was truly pitiful.

They were ugly little meat bags that seemed to be cursed by the universe itself for unknown crimes they had committed against nature.

But this seemingly useless species of animal also had something within them that was special. Something which the universe itself could not take away from them.

It was the remarkable nature of their Chi.

Chi which could command the world.

Chi which could order every other Chi in the universe.

As if they were given a grand authority to command the world and everything in it. If there was a creator, maybe he had vested them with such authority.

Beings made to rule.

An image of God.

....

....

Or so the theory made by a wise sage in India went. It was ridiculous and ironic considering humans were enslaved.

This special nature of the human chi really came to its full potential when an offspring was born between a human and an animal.

Demi-humans.

That was what they were called. They possess the same unique nature of the human chi while also retaining the amount of chi a normal animal had.

And thus, a creature who could command the world and everything in it was born.

"Mei, I have an important task for you." The Emperor of Tibet said as he looked down at the demi-human who covered every part of herself except her tails and ears.

In the past, Tibet used to have quite a number of Demi-humans with them. It was the reason why they could carve out this piece of land between two superpowers in the first place.

It was a special secret they hid from the world. A secret weapon that had made them win whatever victories they won.

But as time went on, the humans and the demi-humans ceased to exist. Demi-humans in particular were especially rare since the fertility rate between inter-species was close to non-existent.

(I mentioned this earlier in the story as well where Tai Lung met a cow and rabbit couple. They hire sugorate most of the time in case of inter-species marriage)

So Mei was the last of her kind. The last weapon of Tibet.

It was also why the Emperor knew that he must be the one to save the Empire. Because after this, after the death of Mei, there would be no more chances for Tibet.

It's now or never.

Author : Yes, I did indeed take some inspiration from the bible and how humans were created in the image of God with the authority to rule over the earth and everything in it. I always wanted to add human element to the story.
