Chapter 22
The Meeting
In The Demon Realm In The Demon Lord’s Castle
A woman is walking in the hallway of the castle. She is a beautiful woman with a light shade of pink in her hair. Her eyes are also unusually pink. She has light white skin that is fair and tender. Her bosom pops out of her chest and a silk pink dress stretches down from her shoulders to her legs. She is also wearing a black leather jacket and covered her neck with a scarf made of an animal’s fur.
“Ah, I wonder why Boruta called us. I was having so much fun in my territory. A woman like me isn’t meant to be called in the middle of relaxation, you know. I get cranky.”
A man appears from an intersecting hallway. This man has brown skin and his hair is black. His hair is standing on end like metal and shines radiantly under the moon. His eyes are sealed behind dark round sunglasses but I doubt they are meant to block out the sun. He is wearing a fine white suit laced with beautiful golden buttons. This man can only be described in one word - elegant.
“Lady Amarellia. I see you were also summoned.”
“Oh, dear. To think I’d meet you here, Roy. So, what do you think is going on?”
“I don’t know myself. It seems all the guardians were summoned. Maybe something has happened?”
“There better be one, otherwise I’ll rip Boruta’s head off myself.”
“You still have the same temper even after all this time, huh? Maybe it’s about the Demon Lord’s seal breaking.”
“Oh, yeah. It was going to break this month but we still don’t know which day though. Ah, I can’t wait to meet the Demon Lord. He is the only man who has been able to fill this lowly heart of mine.”
“I heard Natasha’s seal will also be breaking in at least two years’ time!”
“That bitch too! She’s always kept close to the Demon Lord. I hope she rots from that seal of hers.”
“Your words cut deep as always. We have arrived. Do you want to do the honour?”
“Hmph.”
Amarellia opens the door to the conference room. In the room, the other guardians have already arrived. The room is filled with an intimidating atmosphere as if a fight would break out at any moment. In the middle of the room is a huge table with nine chairs, four chairs on each side and one chair at the end of the table.
Amerellia and Roy then take their respective seats. There are three sits vacant and Boruta, the leader of the guardians, is standing near the chair at the end of the table.
“Greetings guardians. The reason why I called all of you here, after hundred years, is because lady Margaret had a revelation.”
The five guardians are all shocked. Lady Margaret’s revelations are known as Divine in the Demon Realm. Everything she foresees happens and she is also known as the oldest demon in the history of the demonkind.
Her Demonic Art is still a mystery as she hasn’t shared much about it even with the Demon Lord. The only thing the demons know about it is that it provides revelations.
“What did the revelation say?” asks one of the guardians.
“The Demon Lord is dead. Killed by a person who had hair as white as snow and eyes as brilliant as the ocean.”
“WHAT?!” Roy exclaims. “Could it have been that man from three hundred and fifty years ago?”
“No. Lady Margaret believes that this person was much younger than that, at least under thirty years of age. It can’t be that person since he would be at least three hundred and fifty years old. We believe it’s that person’s descendant.”
“But how?” Roy asks. “We searched for hundreds of years for that person to no avail. And when we found a clue about people who shared the same features as him, we attacked them without question.”
“Yes, we did but we didn’t kill them all.”
“Didn’t the Great Empire finish them off though?” asks one of the guardians. “Over the last hundred years, that family’s power was dwindled down to only a third-rate country. And soon, the Great Empire struck them leaving nothing but ashes and claimed their kingdom and rebuilt it as the Virian Empire.”
“Yes, that is true, but that doesn’t change the fact that this has happened. Especially since the ‘Day of the Coming’ is near.”
“Wasn’t that Ant freak guarding the seal of the Lord? What happened to him?”
“Unfortunately, his life crystal broke. Meaning he is dead.”
“So, what do you plan we do, Leader?” asked one of the guardians.
“We will move on to plan B.”
Everyone is shocked once more. But this shock is that of excitement.
“War on the humans, huh?” says another guardian. “I guess it’ll be good for us. We’ve spent hundreds of years without having to stretch our bones on a battlefield.”
“Yes, I was kinda getting tired of doing nothing all this time,” says Amarellia gleefully. “War sounds… arousing.”
“What are your orders, Chief?”
“First things first. Amalleria, you’ll be in charge of investigating who actually killed the Demon Lord.”
“Huh, why me? Why can’t Shadow do it?” asks Amalleria, pouting.
“You are the only person who can maneuver in the human realm without raising suspicion, especially with your charming Demonic Art. I have another task for Shadow.”
“Hmph, understood.”
“Shadow! I want you to lead your shadow unit to the human realm and gather information about the kingdoms’ power. Also, I want you to get in touch with the ‘doctor’ to see if ‘That’ is ready.”
“Understood.”
“The other guardians, send your troops to the borders of the human territory and begin war preparations. Even though the ‘Day of the Coming’ is ten years from now, that doesn’t mean we should relax. The seal that houses Natasha shall break in two years and when it does, she’ll probably destroy the kingdom that sealed her. We will use that chance for an all-out war. I hope you understand.”
“Understood!” answers all the demon guardians.
“Oh, by the way. What do I do with the person who killed the Demon Lord after I find him?” Amarellia asks.
“Don’t engage! Send word to us and confirm if he/she is related to that person. After all, this person was able to kill our Lord.”
“Understood.”
“Alright! Meeting adjourned.”
All the five guardians rise from their seats and exit the room.
The tides of war are brewing. Will the humans be ready for it or will they suffer under the might of the Demon race?
