Chapter 20
In The Empire
Unrest is felt by the people of the Great Empire. People are scared as something flew past the skies of the Great Empire. They couldn’t tell what it was. All they know is that it shone over the entire Empire as it was hurtling by on a night when even the moon was asleep. Great light from the heavens shone brilliantly across the Empire.
Unrest is rising amongst the common folk. They believe they are under attack or maybe the Goddess, Athena, has come down to pass judgment.
In the Royal Castle
A soldier is running towards the throne room. He then kneels beside the throne room’s giant door.
“Your Majesty! Your Majesty!”
“Who dares to raise his voice at His Majesty’s presence? Do you wish to have your life pardoned?”
“Pardon me Minister Linct, but there seems to be something hovering above our Great Empire. I was sent here to give this statement.”
“Statement received. You may leave. Also, pass by the clerk and give her your name. You shall be punished severely by the blunder you’ve just made.”
“Understood!”
The man then turns and leaves the throne room door.
The King, Andrew Heinrich, is standing by the window. He is a man who has blood-red eyes and is wearing a golden armour.
“Your Majesty. Sorry for that.”
“It doesn’t matter, Minister. Anyways, what do you think of this?” he asks as he is looking at the bright light passing.
“To my observation your Majesty, it looks like lightning. Which doesn’t make sense since there isn’t any lightning that is white in colour.”
“Lightning, huh? It seems its destination is the sea.”
“It seems so, your Majesty. But where could it have come from? Better question, what could have created such a thing?
This magic definitely surpasses weather-level magic.”
“Do you mean that it is superior-level magic then?”
“I wouldn’t dare exclaim such a thing, Sire. Since superiorlevel magic is nothing but a myth, I wouldn’t dare compare it to it since I’ve never seen it.”
“I understand Minister. You can leave now.”
“Bless the ruler of the Great Empire,” Minister Linct croons as he exits the throne room leaving the emperor alone.
“Superior-level magic huh?!” mutters the emperor to himself.
At Another Wing Of The Royal Castle.
A woman is standing by the window. She has beautiful white hair and ocean blue eyes. She looks up at the passing light and mutters a single word:
“Beautiful.”
Back At The Forest. I’m sleeping under the tree. The shade created by the leaves offers refuge from the scorching sun, and it is the perfect place to rest under.
After returning home yesterday night, I immediately went to my gram and healed her. Even though I was just forcing myself but I had vowed that I would heal her the moment I get home. Since she’s been in a coma for years now, it will probably take a few hours if not a day for her to wake up.
Right now, I’m sleeping off my fatigue under the tree. The greenies are working hard in their garden and it looks beautiful. Not that I know since I basically went straight to sleep after healing Gram.
“The child has been sleeping quite soundly, hasn’t he?”
“Well, you can’t blame him really!” exclaims Ray. “He did just fight a foe that is on the pinnacle of this world. He does actually deserve a little rest.”
“Yeah. To think he would be able to defeat the Demon Lord though,” Ashes chirps in. “That was something even our wielders hailed as heroes couldn’t accomplish. I doubt anyone could’ve done what Allen did.”
“Yes. Even though you and I Ashes, passed out due to energy depletion and couldn’t witness the fight reach its climax. I’m actually glad that he managed without us.”
“You don’t need to sound sad, Saber. You were still helpful to the kid even though you were unconscious. You still were his swords even then.”
“Ashes and I thank you for saying that, Ray.”
“You are welcome. Anyways, the kid has been sleeping for quite some time now. He actually looks like he’s not even here.”
