Moonlight Blue

Chapter 17

Who Is The Demon Lord Talking About?

Mephistoles perspective

Why does this kid look like that bastard? The bastard who thwarted my plans three hundred and fifty years ago.

Three hundred and fifty years ago, I began my plans to conquer the humans to prepare for the day of ‘The Coming’. When I was on my way to start my conquest, ‘HE’ appeared.

White hair and blue eyes. He seemed to be in his twenties. I was frustrated. Not because I met a human but because he showed no sign of fear towards me. A few of my minions charged at him but in a blink of an eye, they were dead. Even when my guardians charged at him all at once but they were cut down to size quite easily. He was strong. I wanted to fight him.

“Who are you human? Speak, why are you here? Did the Holyland send you to stop me?”

He didn’t answer me. In fact, it seemed as if he wasn’t even paying attention.

“How dare you ignore me, human?”

Frustrated and angry, I charged at the human with Greed. That’s when he blocked my attack with that white sword. I then kept attacking him but Greed suddenly shattered. Greed is able to feed on all kinds of energies, even holy magic itself. That’s just how special my Demonic weapon is, but it shattered against that human.

There was only one explanation; Greed couldn’t handle the energy of that human. With things getting dire, I released my trump card, Domain.

He then muttered something. I couldn’t hear what he said or I heard what he said, I just couldn’t believe it.

“Domain.”

For some reason, my domain was overwhelmed by his. How could a human use a domain? A domain is a Demonic art that can only be used by Demon Lords yet he was using it.

He then swung his sword and slashed my chest. That’s why I have this hideous scar on my chest. A scar that never healed for some reason.

“You should fight seriously or you’ll die,” the human had said.

What the hell was this bastard saying? I just released my trump card but he was still able to overwhelm it. Fine, I guess I don’t have a choice. I released my Demonic Armour. With the help of the guardians, they were able to share their demonic energy with me which made my power transcend to another level.

“I commend you. Since you’re going all out, it would be an insult to you if I don’t at least be serious.”

What? What does he mean by that? Is he saying that all this time he wasn’t fighting seriously? He fought against my guardians and now he is fighting against me and he is telling me he wasn’t serious? I’ll kill him. I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU!

He muttered some words again and they were still as inaudible. He then burst into flames like this kid. Of course, his form seemed more advanced than the kid’s but there is no doubt that they are the same form.

I lost that fight but for some reason, he didn’t kill me or my guardians. But the injuries I sustained left me unable to move for fifty years. I then spent the other hundred years searching for the whereabouts of that bastard but to no avail.

Because of my loss, I knew I couldn’t be cocky. So, after those hundred years of searching, I finally found a clue. A certain royal family had the traits of white hair and blue eyes. After further investigation, I couldn’t find anything about that bastard. It was as if he had disappeared into thin air.

I decided to take the chance to invade since he might have died of old age since he was human. And even if he wasn’t dead, I wanted to meet him again and fight him because the humiliation I suffered was imprinted on my mind forever.

I then met those two heroes. It seemed they were ‘summoned’ by the Holyland to stop me. After fighting them, I noticed the sword that the Hero of Light was using. It looked like that bastard’s sword. Even though it looked a bit different, it was the same sword without a doubt.

“Where did you get that sword?” I asked him, brimming with anger. He then told me it was a sword forged by that famous dwarf blacksmith. Of course, I didn’t believe him. If he was a descendant of that bastard then I’ll make him spill everything. Distracted by my anger, Merlin was able to cast an entrapment spell that briefly inhibited my movement.

Like something like this can stop me! I was too late to notice that the two heroes were preparing a sealing spell. I didn’t think that they would pull a cowardly move like that but they did. He was definitely not that guy’s descendant, that’s for sure. He wouldn’t use such a cowardly move, so I figured he was also summoned.

How dare he perform such actions while wielding his sword? I underestimated the scope of their seal. It was a seal that would take the caster’s life in exchange for performing it. And thus, I was sealed away by them. I was angry. Not angry because of my carelessness or being sealed away. I was angry because I never found him; I never had my rematch with him.
