Moonborn: The Lost Legacy

Chapter 23: Rewards

Ryulune extended his hand, and suddenly, several ornate boxes materialized in front of the four.

"Here, gifts for all of you." Ryulune smiled. "First, Elowen, this is yours. Open it."

Elowen carefully lifted the lid of her box and gasped. Inside lay a pair of elegant earrings with red crystals that shimmered in the light.

"They look so beautiful!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.

"These are special artifacts that will enhance your fire element power," Ryulune explained. "And here's one more gift."

Elowen opened the second box and found a luxurious makeup kit. She raised an eyebrow. "Uh… thank you?"

Ryulune chuckled. "This is no ordinary makeup kit. If any of the makeup runs out, you can pour your vitra into it, and it will replenish itself. Plus, it allows you to disguise your face whenever needed."

Elowen's eyes widened in delight. "This is amazing! Thank you, Ryulune."

"I'm happy you like it." Ryulune nodded. "Now, Cassian, here are your gifts."

Cassian eagerly opened his first box and found a bracelet with a white crystal embedded in the center.

"This looks cool!" he said, admiring it.

"This bracelet will enhance your ice element abilities," Ryulune explained.

Cassian then opened the second box and found a glass with an intricate water design carved into it.

"What's this?" he asked, inspecting it closely.

"This glass can help you detect hidden enemies nearby. It also grants you invisibility, but only twice per day."

Cassian grinned. "Now, this is epic! Thanks, Ryulune."

"Now, Aria, it's your turn." Ryulune handed her two boxes.

Aria opened the first one and found a pair of sleek gloves. "These are pretty!"

"These will help you control and strengthen your electricity element," Ryulune informed her.

She then opened the second box and found a beautifully carved flute. Her face lit up.

"You knew I liked instruments?" she asked.

Ryulune smiled. "Yes, and this flute isn't just for music. It can put people to sleep or mark someone so you can track them."

Aria held it close to her chest. "I love it! Thank you, Ryulune."

Finally, Ryulune turned to Keld, who was practically bouncing with excitement.

"And now, Keld, here is your gift."

Keld ripped open the first box like a kid on his birthday and found a blue locket with an intricate design.

"This is… really nice." He held it up. "What does it do?"

Ryulune's expression turned serious. "This locket will help you control your vitra. It acts as a limiter."

Keld blinked. "Wait… isn't that just a fancy way of saying you're punishing me by sealing my power?"

Ryulune smirked. "Yes. This is your punishment for almost killing everyone in academy."

Elowen, Cassian, and keld stiffened, swallowing hard. "He knows?!" they thought in unison, looking at each other in horror.

Ryulune chuckled. "What, did you three really think I wouldn't find out?"

Cassian hesitated, about to speak, but Ryulune raised a hand. "I already know everything. I'm not blaming you three, but Keld, do you understand why this happened?"

Keld looked down. "Because I couldn't control my vitra…"

Ryulune nodded. "Exactly. The pressure overwhelmed your mind, causing all the vitra inside you to burst out. That's why you will wear this until you fully control it."

Keld sighed. "I understand… I'm sorry."

Suddenly, Ryulune's voice echoed in Keld's mind through telepathy. "Keld, you did the right thing in the academy. Everything I just said was an excuse to give you this locket. The truth is, when you got angry, the first seal on your power broke. That's why you felt that pressure. Starting tomorrow, you will train to control your first seal's energy."

Keld, in his mind, replied, "Okay, Ryulune… and sorry for the trouble."

Ryulune say "Don't worry about it."

Aria confused asked. "What are you all talking about?"

Elowen quickly explained the whole situation.

Aria's eyes widened. "Oh, so that crazy pressure I felt in the academy was because of you, Keld?"

She smirked. "That settles it. Let's fight!"

Keld's jaw dropped. "What?! Right now?!"

Aria crossed her arms. "When I felt that power in the academy, I got excited thinking there was someone strong to fight. But when I arrived at the exam hall, everything was over, and all I found was blood being cleaned up. I was disappointed! But now, I finally found you!"

Seluna intervened. "I think you all need to rest. It's already nighttime."

Aria pouted. "Just one match, Mom? Please?"

Seluna gave her a stern motherly glare. Aria instantly backed down. "...Fine. Tomorrow it is." She sat down with a huff.

Seluna turned to Keld. "You still have one more gift. Open it."

Keld perked up. "Oh, right!" He quickly opened the second box and found two beautifully crafted daggers with sharp, curved blades.

He held them up, mesmerized. "These are amazing! Thank you, Ryulune."

Ryulune smiled. "I'm glad you like them."

Seluna suddenly speak, holding three rings that shimmered with magic.

Elowen blinked. "Wait… you're giving us gifts too, Queen?"

Seluna smiled. "Yes, as a reward for your hard work."

She handed a ring to Elowen, Cassian, and Aria. Keld looked at his own ring and noticed its design was similar, though with a different pattern.

Aria frowned. "Wait, why do we get rings, but Keld already has one?"

Seluna's expression softened. "There are… certain circumstances I will explain later. But for now, just wear them."

The three slipped on their rings.

"These rings work as storage systems. Just pour your vitra into them and say 'open' to access your inventory."

Keld excitedly tested it by storing his daggers. "Damn! This is so cool! I feel like the MC in a manhwa!"

Cassian nodded. "100% true."

Ryulune chuckled. "Now, all of you, go get some rest."

As they walked to their rooms, Aria grinned at Keld. "Don't forget, we have a battle tomorrow. Be ready. No excuses!"

Keld smirked. "I never make excuses."
