-----

"All dinosaurs, retreat immediately and hide in the deep sea!"

Miraluz's command boomed across to every creature of the Jurassic Alliance.

His voice carried the gravity of impending annihilation.

There was no hesitation. His authority was absolute.

The battlefield, once filled with bloodcurdling roars and the screams of dying soldiers, fell eerily silent.

Massive reptilian bodies the Tyrannosaurs, Therizinosauruses, Ankylosaurs, and Spinosauruses paused mid-fight.

Then, as one, they turned and surged toward the ocean with urgency.

From above, it looked like the tide was flowing backward.

The land was emptying itself of monsters.

Miraluz's golden eyes scanned the sky.

High above the cloud line, something was coming.

Something not even he could take lightly.

It's here.

-----------

POV: Captain Lina Reyes – Ground Forces, Isla Nublar

Lina dropped to her knees amid a field of corpses, most of them human, a few unlucky dinosaurs who hadn't made it to the sea in time.

The chaos had stopped.

"They're... they're leaving?" a soldier muttered next to her, his voice trembling.

Lina watched the massive shapes vanish beneath the waves.

"Why?" she whispered.

Her comm crackled.

"Central, do you read? This is Reyes. The dinos are retreating. Repeat, the dinos are retreating. What the hell is happening?"

No answer.

Just static.

Then, the ground vibrated with something far more terrifying than the charge of mutant dinosaurs.

-----------

"Want to run?" Admiral Stense leaned forward in his chair, his gloved fingers steepled.

"Let's see how far they get."

The war room was dimly lit, save for the massive holographic projection above the table. Isla Nublar at the center, with a red blip descending rapidly from orbit.

"Status?" he asked calmly.

His aide swallowed.

"Missile velocity at Mach 10. Impact in 47 seconds. Blast radius exceeds 15 kilometers. Estimated yield... 60 megatons."

"A beautiful number." Stense smiled coldly.

"This will go down in history. The day we wiped out the Dino king."

"You think he stayed?" lieutenant asked.

Stense didn't answer. He didn't need to.

------

POV: Miraluz – Above Isla Nublar

He could hear it now, a faint whistle above the clouds, the fabric of the sky tearing under the sheer force of a falling god.

A weapon meant to end wars.

Meant to end him.

The air began to vibrate, pressure building like a bowstring pulled taut.

Far below, the world was a blur of land and ocean. Time slowed.

No time to hesitate.

Miraluz's wings exploded outward in a blaze of radiant force.

Wind howled in his wake as he shot upward at hypersonic speed, scaling the heavens toward the incoming missile.

At Mach 5, even the clouds couldn't keep up with him.

They shredded behind him like cotton in a storm.

His body, forged in the crucible of ancient DNA and modern mutation, burned with energy.

Every cell screamed in preparation.

The heat from the atmosphere ignited his scales like glowing iron fresh from the forge.

And then he saw it.

The missile.

A white spear from the stars.

Over 20 meters long, descending like the wrath of a forgotten god.

I can't stop entirely... but I can absorb it.

Miraluz angled his wings and twisted in the air, intercepting the missile head-on.

Claws raked across its side, trying to divert it.

But the casing was reinforced. It wouldn't budge.

"Damn you," he growled in a tongue only gods and dragons knew.

"Then I'll take you myself."

With a final flap of his wings, he wrapped his massive frame around the missile and shot upward again, carrying it higher.

Closer to the edge of the stratosphere.

Time was almost up.

He glanced once toward the ocean, where his kin had vanished into the abyss.

Live. You must live.

-----

POV: Commander Bryce – Pentagon

"We've lost missile telemetry!" Bryce shouted.

"It's... it's climbing again?!"

They stood abruptly.

"Climbing?! That's impossible!"

"It's not. Something hit it...something's dragging it upward."

Bryce looked up at the live feed.

The missile was climbing, but not alone.

A massive shadow enveloped it, wings spread wide, wrapped like a guardian... or a martyr.

"Miraluz..." Stense whispered.

Then, the screen turned white.

-------

POV: Miraluz

"Now," he whispered.

The warhead reached critical altitude. Miraluz released his grip and, unleashed a final blast of condensed energy from his chest, a golden beam that ruptured the missile's casing and triggered premature detonation.

BOOM—!!

The heavens screamed.

A second sun was born, high above Earth.

It dwarfed everything cities, oceans, even time itself.

The nuclear fireball expanded, engulfing Miraluz.

Temperatures soared past a million degrees. Plasma, fire, and radioactive death spread in all directions.

The blast wave tore through the stratosphere, sending shockwaves racing across the globe.

--------

POV: Admiral Stense

The ship rocked violently.

A wave of incandescent heat smashed into the deck, melting steel, vaporizing flesh.

Stense never looked away from the screen.

He smiled.

Then, nothing.

-----

POV: Captain Lina Reyes

The world turned white.

Then black.

Then red.

Lina threw herself behind a concrete barrier as the shockwave struck. Her ears popped.

Her vision swam. She thought her skin was melting. She screamed.

And then.....silence.

Slowly, the roaring wind faded.

Smoke and ash choked the sky.

The ocean boiled at the horizon.

Above them, a monstrous mushroom cloud loomed like a god's middle finger.

The Earth was quiet.

----------

POV: Gray – Deep Sea

Gray floated silently in the pitch-black depths. Her heartbeat echoed in her skull.

Around her, dozens of others hid, predators, herbivores, hybrids-all silent, all still.

She could feel him.

Her brother.

The bond they shared hadn't broken. Not yet.

But it had dimmed.

Miraluz was alive...

...barely.

And he was falling.

He plummeted through the clouds like a meteor, blackened, burned, his wings torn and riddled with radiation.

His eyes barely glowed now, just faint embers.

His breath came in short, ragged gasps.

It's done.

But he was not dead.

Not yet.

Prepare... the counterattack.
