Chapter 8: His Plan Shall be put Into Motion.
Ignoring the silently pouting girl, Carter was having a meal with his favorite confidant. France Granda was from a cousin branch of the family. He wasn’t one that would ever be an heir to their family, so he always tried his best to hug Carter’s thighs. “The man makes me so sick to be around… but I need to lap up more benefits from him.” France thought with an uncomfortable tone in his mind.
France: “Carter, Risa’s performance lately has been too good…” He lamented.
Carter: “I know that… But what am I to do about it? All this money, but I have no real power to speak of.” He replied with a sigh. If it wasn’t for worthless things such as laws, Carter would just have his sister assassinated. Problem being… is that it would be so damn hard to murder someone like Risa. Even with money…
France: “Surely, that Risa has a weakness or two that you can exploit, right?” He replied with his arms crossed.
Carter: “Sister has always been closed off… no. She recently found a girl, one whom she truly seems taken by.” He answered after thinking a bit.
Spoken in the novel, this was where the original, evil plan… was brought forth.
France: “Perfect!” He happily exclaimed.
Carter: “Unfortunately, Risa hasn’t let her love dull her senses. So it isn’t particularly good in the least. That is, unless you are somehow happy for my sister?” He said with a scoff.
France: “No, no. I mean, you can use that woman against her.” He clarified.
Carter: “How so?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
France: “Seduce the woman, and your sister will fall into despair. That woman, Risa, has always struck me as one that would always be loyal to one person, and one person forever. Take that person away from her and… it will be over for Risa!” He exclaimed.
Carter: “…”
“Yes… that would work. Truly, I am a wise man for having such useful tools around me most of the time!” He thought with a happy and overly confident tone. Even until her suicide, the original Monia didn’t know this. She was never aware that Carter didn’t love her, and that he was just using her as a tool. Just as he treats most people in his life.
In the novel, Monia was silent most of the time, refusing to talk to the maids, Carter, and even Risa. Which was why she had never known the cruel and rude Carter until it was far too late for all involved. Though, it ended well for Carter…
Carter: “A wise idea indeed, but I was already rude to that woman, Monia.” He said with a remorseful tone.
France: “What does that matter? With your looks, any girl will fall for you. Carter, perhaps even lesbians… will fall for you, the rich and handsome heir to the Granda family!” He praised, much like the henchman he was.
Carter: “I don’t know about that woman, though. I was decently rude to her, and absolutely did not show her a good side of me.” He continued.
France: “Like I said, it doesn’t matter at all. Regardless of if you were rude to her, she’ll eventually be seduced by you with time. Like with most woman, you just have to coax them a bit, and they’ll fall with ease!” He explained with a confident tone.
Carter: “You’re right! No woman has ever been able to deny my charms. I shouldn’t lack confidence in this.” He said with a smile, with the man that is named after a country, lathering on more and more praises.
The mans thinking was dark, and also shallow. A petty villain, but one that had money and sought power. A person like this… wouldn’t ever be a good person, most of the time. The man’s plans were laid out, but as for the recipient of said plans, the woman herself, Monia, was still pouting away. Still silently, I might add.
