Mobuseka:Leon's Adventure

Chapter 67: The first day of suffering and Luxion in the window

At a bar, Leon met Daniel Fou Durland and Raymond Fou Arkin. Just like in the original manga and light novel, they turned out to be ordinary guys with whom Leon quickly struck up a friendship. He enjoyed talking to them, and their camaraderie formed effortlessly. However, unlike the original story, their group now included two brothers—Tony and Vito. This added even more energy and dynamism to their interactions.

The next day at the Academy, the entrance ceremony took place. Attendance was mandatory for all new students. Leon found himself in the massive hall among a sea of other students. The ceremony began with the entrance of the kingdom's prince—Julius—who was to deliver the opening speech.

"Ughhh, I don't want to listen to this idiot," Leon grumbled to himself, sitting in his chair and impatiently waiting for it all to be over. He couldn't care less about what the prince had to say, but leaving the hall was not an option. That would be seen as a blatant show of disrespect toward the royal family, and his father would give him hell for it if he found out.

"Although..." Leon mused, trying to keep boredom at bay, "he could beat me up for it. But in a couple of weeks, I'll do something way worse than just walking out of the hall."

His train of thought was suddenly interrupted by someone's voice:

"Finally! I've waited ten years for these princes!"

Leon turned around and saw a girl. She was a short blonde with bright blue eyes, and her energetic demeanor immediately caught everyone's attention.

"Ugh... I completely forgot about my sister," Leon sighed, recognizing her. "It's been years since I last saw her."

He observed Marie closely, recalling both his past life and the events of the manga and novel.

"How funny," he thought, watching her. "She's an old lady now, with a daughter and everything. Yet here she is, looking like a fifteen-year-old girl and acting like a child. It'd be hilarious if Erica showed up here too..."

At that moment, Leon pondered: What should I do? Should I change the future and warn her right now not to make any stupid decisions? Or let her face the consequences and learn the hard way?

This dilemma gave him an odd sense of satisfaction. Amusingly, both Leons—the one from his past life and his current self—enjoyed watching Marie suffer, though for different reasons. The first Leon, from his previous life, harbored hatred for her because she constantly bullied him, which eventually led to his death. The second Leon, his present self, found her suffering entertaining because he'd read about it in the novel and considered it an amusing plot element.

"Hmmm… Tough choice, tough choice," he muttered, frowning. "Alright, let's weigh the pros and cons."

Leaning back in his chair with arms crossed, he began to deliberate. After some time, he managed to find only one advantage to telling Marie about the future right away:

"She'd know the truth. And that's it."

But the downsides? There were plenty.

"First of all, she wouldn't learn from her mistakes. Second, she wouldn't suffer because of those mistakes. And that would deprive me of the joy of watching her misery. Third, if I tell her anything now, I won't have the chance to rub her escapades in Erica's face and reveal how they're connected to Marie. Yeah, better to wait."

A sly smile slowly spread across his face, and his gaze grew cold and calculating.

"Yes, yes, that's the right move. No need to intervene," he whispered, a devilish grin forming.

He glanced at Marie, who, oblivious to his thoughts, continued watching the stage with obvious excitement, her eyes fixed on the prince.

After the ceremony, Leon made his way to his new dorm room. To his surprise, the dorm staff offered to help carry his luggage. For a moment, he was taken aback but quickly remembered that he now held the title of Viscount. Of course, Viscounts were treated differently than Barons.

When he entered the room, he scanned the spacious quarters. Everything he could need was there: a large bed with soft bedding, a writing desk, a wardrobe, and even a cozy armchair by the window. Dropping onto the bed, Leon let out a deep sigh.

"It's been a long day," he muttered, rubbing his temples. "Classes start tomorrow..."

He closed his eyes, trying to relax, but suddenly a thought struck him. One after another, realizations raced through his mind, and the horror of it all became clear on his face.

"Wait a second! I'm at an academy... which means I have to study? Noooo!" His scream echoed through the room.

The reason for his despair was simple. Thanks to the merging of his two personalities—his own and the memories of another Leon from a parallel world—he had effectively lived two lives. He'd already gone through school and then university. Granted, the second Leon didn't spend much time at university, but still, a year of education had left its mark.

And now he had to start all over again for the third time.

"Studying again?!" he groaned, covering his face with his hands.

But then he remembered Luxion Cleare and Legion.

"Right, I've got AI to back me up," he mumbled, calming himself.

No sooner had he said this than a soft mechanical hum filled the room. Luxion, his faithful artificial intelligence in the form of a floating sphere, appeared from camouflage mode.

"Why the screaming, Master?" Luxion's metallic voice asked. "Have you already realized that your dream of building a harem is unattainable? And it's only your first day."

Leon flinched as a chill ran down his spine. His face flushed with embarrassment as he stared at Luxion.

"How do you know about that?!" he demanded, his voice trembling. "I never told you!"

"Of course you didn't," Luxion replied calmly. "I read it in your journal. You're a secretive person, so I decided to make sure you weren't hiding anything important. Turns out, you're not concealing the future, but your fantasies... well, that's another story. I hope I'm not part of your imaginings, and you're not planning to change our professional relationship into something romantic."

Leon's embarrassment quickly turned to rage, but Luxion wasn't done yet.

"I hate to disappoint you, but I have no intention of transforming into a humanoid for your satisfaction. And I definitely have no desire to reciprocate your feelings."

"You've got a program specifically designed to piss me off!" Leon grumbled, struggling to contain his anger. "I hope you haven't shared this with anyone else?"

"Unfortunately, Cleare knows as well," Luxion replied matter-of-factly. "Especially about your desire to experience something you called a 'foot j—'"

"Shut up!" Leon yelled, his face crimson with shame.

In a fit of rage, he punched the floating sphere, sending Luxion flying out the window. For a moment, Leon stood there, breathing heavily, then collapsed back onto the bed.

"This day just keeps getting worse..." he muttered, covering his face with his hand.

Luxion, meanwhile, floated back through the window.

"I trust you've calmed down, Master," the AI said in its usual monotone voice.

Leon could only groan, realizing this was just the beginning of his life at the academy.
