Chapter 221: Exploring Hell Again
Yes, anyone can be sacrificed, so why can't Lando?
"You tell me!" Hua Cai rebuked, "Or is it that you, War God, have taken a fancy to her and want to take her for yourself?"
"I'm telling you, War God, she is the wife of your believer, Tukuru. You have no right to interfere with her choices."
Scolded by Hua Cai, Lu Hong stepped back several paces, looking somewhat disheartened. Danni and the other six Tower Masters had gone missing in the previous battle against the orcs and their whereabouts were still unknown. Anna had also disappeared during the beast clan's invasion of the Demonic Abyss, most likely dead beside his tomb.
Now, Lando was the only lover Lu Hong could still see, and touch. How could he calmly watch her march towards death?
So, no matter what, Lu Hong was still unwilling to accept this, "I will find my own way to avert this crisis."
Having said that, Lu Hong turned and left.
Watching his retreating figure, Hua Cai sighed silently. She, too, didn't wish to sacrifice Lando.
Leaving Star City, Lu Hong took his dog to see Ancestor Dragon.
Ancestor Dragon wasn't having an easy time either. His nine sons had either died or fled during the Hell invasion; now only three remained, and among these three sons, one had his soul obliterated by another's possession.
Ancestor Dragon was in a real dilemma too; directly killing the soul that had taken over the true dragon's body meant his son would effectively be dead, but leaving the soul alive meant that it wasn't his son anymore.
"Big brother," Lu Hong called softly, pulling Ancestor Dragon from his thoughts.
"Why are you here?"
"To find an opportunity to discipline those two foolish sons of yours," Lu Hong replied irritably. "They keep disagreeing with me."
"Ah? That shouldn't be the case; before I left, I explicitly stressed that they should follow your orders."
"Just beat them up for me, and also, I need to head to Hell. I don't suppose you could accompany me?"
"I'd rather not," Ancestor Dragon shook his head. "I need to resolve my son's issues first."
Lu Hong nodded understandingly, "This matter of the Demon King's revival is significant, and it seems to also involve the Shadow Demon, though I'm not sure if that's true."
"Shadow Demon?" Ancestor Dragon suddenly looked up. "Let's go; I need to meet Liesuotus again in Hell!"
"Alright."
The three of them set out, the dog not daring to breathe heavily in front of Ancestor Dragon, whispering to Lu Hong, "Son, what's the deal with that old dragon? Why do I feel he's kind of awesome?"
Ancestor Dragon heard the dog's words, "Son?!"
Instantly, Ancestor Dragon grabbed the dog by the scruff, bringing it before him, and looking into its large eyes, the dog immediately went weak in the knees, "Big,, big brother, just command me as you wish."
"I just heard you call me your brother's son? I'm his big brother, what do you think I should call you then?"
"Ah?!" The dog was startled, then quickly grinned, "Big brother, you must have heard wrong. I called him 'dad,' he's my dad, and I'm the son, I'm the son."
Hearing this, Ancestor Dragon then let him go.
Heading to Hell might sound simple, but Lu Hong really didn't know where any Hell entrances were.
The previous entrance had been destroyed thanks to the Lionheart God's mishandling, and now they could only locate a new one through Song Quan.
But where was Song Quan?
With no alternative, the three aimlessly searched beneath the Star Sea. They eventually stumbled across three fugitives from the Lionheart.
Seeing Ancestor Dragon and the others, the Shadow Snake snarled, "Lionheart, they are the ones who killed millions of our sons!"
As the Shadow Snake moved to attack, the Fallen Wolf god poised to strike, but was stopped by the Lionheart.
"What are you doing? Don't you want to avenge our sons who died tragically?"
"I've said before that we can't start another war with the Star Alliance." Lionheart God spoke, "And they are our allies against Hell, we must cooperate. Have you forgotten how terrifying Liesuotus is?!"
Mentioning Liesuotus, both were noticeably dispirited, having never fought such a humiliating battle in their lives!
"It seems you have already been to Hell?" Ancestor Dragon, not taking Shadow Snake and Fallen Wolf seriously, smiled, "And met Liesuotus?"
"Yes."
Ancestor Dragon sized up the situation. "How is it? Isn't Liesuotus formidable?"
"Yes." Lionheart was forthright and detailed the journey to Hell.
After hearing the account, Lu Hong said, "I wonder if you three still have the bravery to enter Hell."
He then exchanged the information he had received with the others.
After listening to Lu Hong's account, Lionheart nodded. "If that's the case, we can enter Hell again, but currently our injuries haven't healed, and we will need some more time."
"How long?"
"Perhaps a few years," replied Lionheart God. "Next time we enter Hell, we cannot fail again."
"A few years..." Lu Hong wanted to resolve the matter of Hell as soon as possible, but seeing even the Lionheart God hesitant because of Liesuotus, he realized the difficulty and could only say, "Then let's meet in Rao Xue after five years. In five years, we meet in Rao Xue."
"Rao Xue?"
"It's the dimensional plane at the easternmost side of the Star Sea."
"Okay." Lionheart God agreed, and both groups departed in different directions.
Before long, Ancestor Dragon asked Lu Hong, "Are we still going to Hell?"
"Not for now," said Lu Hong. "Going into Hell together with Lionheart God would greatly increase our chances of success; there's no need to risk it now."
"What about your woman? Aren't you going to save her?"
"Save her, yes, but there's no rush. If it weren't for Song Quan providing coordinates, they'd definitely still be searching for a long time. Anyway, I'll first go to Hell to investigate the situation. If I can bring out Lando, all the better. If not, I'll disrupt their plans, and after five years, once Lionheart God has fully recovered, we'll make a life-or-death decision against Hell."
As they spoke, Lu Hong instructed Dogzi and Ancestor Dragon, "You two try to find Song Quan. The coordinates he holds are crucial."
After bidding farewell to Ancestor Dragon and Dogzi, Lu Hong arrived in Hell through the spatial coordinates provided by Lionheart God.
Once forged by the Demon Fire, Lu Hong had acquired a trace of Hell's distinct essence.
Soon, Lu Hong re-adapted to the strength suppression of the lower-dimensional plane and continuously advanced into the depths of Hell.
This time, Lu Hong's journey was much more difficult than that of Lionheart God and his companions.
Liesuotus, at his base, encountered enemies from another realm, and the Spider Mother had similarly encountered enemies before. This made Archimonde extremely vigilant. It seemed that forces within the Star Sea had learned of the Demon King's impending resurrection and were trying to infiltrate Hell to disrupt the ritual.
As a result, Archimonde issued a level-one alert in Hell, all Hell Demons were put on combat readiness, patrolling their own territories, ready to sound the alarm at the sight of any intruders.
Initially unaware, as Lu Hong progressed, he was detected, but fortunately, he promptly slaughtered those demons. After killing them, however, Lu Hong faced a dilemma.
He had not yet been exposed, but the absence of news from this group of demons would definitely lead other demons to investigate. Wouldn't that expose him?
What to do then? Should he kill all the demons of this dimensional plane?
This thought emerged, and Lu Hong found it quite appropriate.
No sooner said than done, a lower demon plane wasn't very large, and it took Lu Hong less than half a month to slaughter all the residing demons inside.
Although somewhat foolish, this method at least bought Lu Hong more time.
Next, Lu Hong was very careful, avoiding various demon outposts and hidden posts along the way.
It took a full eight months before he reached the middle layer of Hell, where he encountered the first human, a Believer of the Hell Sect.
Lu Hong immediately seized the man. "Where is Lando? Speak!"
"Who are you? Why are you looking for our Vice Sect Hierarch?!" This Hell Sect Believer seemed unafraid.
"I'm her friend, here to rescue her."
"Rescue her? Vice Sect Hierarch Lando is living comfortably in Hell. Don't deceive me. I'd rather die than tell you her whereabouts!"
"Then go die!" Lu Hong didn't waste words. He tightened his grip, about to strangle the man when the Believer's attitude changed instantly, "Mercy, my lord, mercy! Lando is in the Demon King plane, both Lord Ze Xiu and Lord Lando were summoned by the Demon Lord to the Demon King plane; they are not in this world."
Great, Lu Hong felt it was a wasted trip after all; Lando was indeed left in the Demon King plane because of completing the task assigned by Archimonde.
