MMORPG: Rebirth Of The Strongest Assassin

Chapter 9: Chaos

Yone felt his fighting spirit rise as he swiftly descended the mountain as fast as possible to be on the range to hear their conversation without alerting them. 'Two level two players, one on each side, these two parties are no random ones, especially since they arrived at this place.'

At around sixty meters above them, Yone stopped. It was close enough to hear their voices and not be sensed by them, but just in case, he went a step further and pressed himself against the stone as he slowed his breath and listened carefully.

As he scanned the battlefield, he saw two groups of five clashing at the lake's shore. One of them consisted of four assassins and one cleric, while the other had a perfectly balanced party of one hunter, protection warrior, swordsman, a cleric, and an Elementalist from the fireball he just saw flying through.

'They are so caught up in their fight that they didn't notice me descending the mountain all this time, truly laughable,' Yone mused as he perked up his ears.

"Shadow, you are going too far with your mind games. The lake shore is as vast as the whole starting forest combined, yet you come and kill and steal every monster while farming right next to us." The Swordsman, right next to the protection warrior Anonymous, raged. He was truly frustrated and wanted nothing more than to kill all of them here.

"Big brother, calm down your anger," A petit girl with the in game of 'Heal the World' the age of eighteen stepped forward as she whsieped in the swordsman's ears, her body shaking," We cannot afford to offend their guild of assassins, our hard wok of getting to this place using long detours and sacrificing large amount of time will be gone in an instant."

HealtheWorld body was shaking, thinking of the possibility of getting killed and resetting back to 0 EXP level 1, wasting almost an hour of constant grinding made her utterly terrified.

"She's right, friend. This isn't a situation where anger or a fight can solve it. We can't win against them," the protection warrior called Tonka added, his gaze darting from the assassins to Anonymous.

'Damn it, abusing the weak just cause of your difference in skills,' Anonymous felt his anger growing as he quickly suppressed it, clearly considering his sister and best friend's words.' If I were with my main party, not friends, killing them is no issue. No, if I only had one of my party members, suppressing all of them is no big deal!'

Anonymous took a deep breath and spoke as calmly as possible: " Let's stop this fight here. You want this spot of farming, right? You can take it without any of us losing some of our party members."

Shadow, hearing his words, scratched his head, not sure how to react." Yeahhh...I would have loved to let you go, but I got orders from our guild master to spread fear in all farming zones, and I don't think any of you are leaving."

"Under the Veil guild leader issued such a command? Doesn't he know that many of the super guilds from End World are leveling up already? Is he crazy!" Tonka felt goosebumps all over his body.

Under the Veil was a ruthless assassin guild consisting of purely assassins and ten of the absolute best healers in End-World. However, they never dared to oppose the various super guilds, so everyone on the Tonka party was equally confused and shocked.

Shadow smiled as he spoke before going into stealth." This isn't the End World, brother. This is a whole different world. Hehe."

Only a crazed laughter was heard before all four assassins went into stealth, with the cleric staying a good distance away from Tonka's party.

"Tonka, make sure to stay around our healer. Ranger and Crimson Fire, follow my target and attack whoever appears and wants to backstab me." Anonymous issued quick commands in the voice party chat, holding his uncommon sword in both hands as he stayed at the front and everyone behind him.

"Tsk, tsk, so that's how it is." Yone casually descended the mountain after understanding what was going on. More importantly, his gaze lay on Anonymous and HealtheWorld, and his heart beat faster.

'These infamous duo are about to lose a level, can my luck be even better than this?' He rejoiced inwardly as he went into stealth and took position, patiently waiting.

A kill steal all out fight... Typical early game chaos!

Yone loved what he was watching, but in the next second, his face hardened as Shadow dashed targeting Anonymous, ignoring the cleric altogether.

The swordsman and warrior stood firm as they barely held back the assassins. Their cleric frantically healed, but her mana pool was draining very rapidly. Meanwhile, the enemy cleric stood untouched far away, her mana preserved since the damage wasn't so high on his frontline, keeping his side at full health.

Anonymous gritted his teeth as his blade barely deflected Shadow's dagger. Two of these assassins, with one of them matching his level at level two were overwhelming and made dodging near impossible.

"I can't keep this up forever," He muttered, shifting his stance accordingly.

Behind him, HealtheWorld's mana dropped into the red. A few more exchanges and he would surely be on the verge of losing all of his hp, and an assassin will take that chance and attack their backline.

'Not bad,' Yone thought.

With a light tap of his foot, he sped towards HealtheWorld, leaving afterimages in his path, his dagger straight targeted her face.

Pang!

Right before HealtheWorld nose, a spark of light sparked as two daggers clashed with each other, with one of them that came from the bottom left of the girl's face acting as a shield for her.

'This is it,' Using his advantage in damage thanks to his upgraded dagger, he placed five free attribute points into agility. He swiftly rolled his body as he appeared behind the assassin and thrust his dagger right at his neck.

Yone twisted his wrist as he dragged his across the assassin's ribs with a swift motion.

-30!... A critical hit and stealth bonus on the first attack was applied.

The enemy staggered back with eyes wide open, his health bar dropping by 30%. But he wasn't too panicked yet.

"Tch!" The assassin gritted his teeth and instantly counter attacked, his dagger heading towards Yone's side quickly.

Clang!

Yone easily effortlessly blocked it with a grin.

'Too slow. Too predictable.' He thought, his fighting spirit rising even further as he truly enjoyed this.

How long had it been since he had to fight a one-on-one with such low stats while being on a higher ground? Yone almost forgot when was the last time that happened.

He then stepped forward, his blade flashing twice in a quick flurry.

-7! -6!...

-20!

The assassin gasped, his HP falling below 50% in astonishing speed. He tried to disengage as fast as possible, but Yone was already moving towards him.

Shadow Step.

In a blur, he vanished from sight. And the next moment he was already behind his opponent.

The assassin barely had any time to blink before Yone appeared behind him the next moment.

His dagger flashed as he aimed for a clean hit on his throat to inflict even more damage on him, making sure this fight ends as fast as possible.

-20! Critical Hit!

[Enemy HP: 17/100]

"Shit...!" The assassin stumbled backwards, eyes wide in panic. He turned to run away, but Yone's dagger was already descending into his back.

-17!

His body flickered, then shattered into pixels.

'Player Eliminated!' He got a system notification but ignored it and focused on the matter at hand.

Two items dropped at Yone's as he swiftly collected with a wave of his hand and concentrated on both party leaders.
