Chapter 1819: Ending Redemption
This move was truly like a barrage of ten thousand arrows, and even more terrifying than a bullet storm. The frenzied arrows carried with them a boundless gale, and Irina was the eye of the storm.
The Death Knight hastily cast a shield on itself, but because the move was so sudden, activating like a thunderbolt, even Li Yao didn't foresee it. The others, encountering this leader for the first time, were completely unprepared.
While airborne, the Death Knight's shield shattered in less than a second, and without the Bone Shield, he was instantly pierced by numerous arrows.
Apart from that, the Iron Tower hauling the War Bear in the distance wasn't spared either; even his massive body was forced to stagger backward by the gale.
"Invincible Iron Wall."
His arms transformed into gigantic shields, with the tips of the shields and his feet generating intense sparks on the ground.
But the powerful arrows, with formidable penetration thanks to their strong wind attributes, eventually reduced the Iron Tower's life to zero, and he fell with a crash.
The Blood Rose's health dropped rapidly, and though she transformed into a blood mist to reduce damage, she couldn't withstand such a violent attack. But fortunately, she wasn't far from the Magic Tower, and by reducing damage, she barely reached behind it.
As for the others, unless they had invincible skills, they were mostly wiped out.
The two Mages used Ice Blocks to save themselves, the Hunter fake death to escape, and the Balance Druid, being closest to the Priest, was pulled by the Priest using Faith Leap to the base of the Magic Tower; others perished in battle.
Even Li Yao, wrapped in his wings, looked quite miserable. Almost all the feathers on his wings shattered, resembling a featherless bird, making the golden wings appear especially unsightly.
Moreover, had it not been for the special way the feathers absorbed damage, they might not have resisted the penetration.
In the distance, War Bear lay on the ground covering his head with his dual claws, trembling, while Irina was also panting heavily, as this move took a considerable toll on her.
"Surviving my attack, I have to say, you're not bad." Irina remarked, seeing Li Yao, now unharmed aside from looking a bit battered with his wings spread, wasn't something that concerned her.
"Irina, after unleashing this move, how much fighting power do you actually have left? Surely, it's less than your peak state. You're just courting death." Li Yao fumed slightly.
His previous life experiences were all from dungeons, and this wasn't a dungeon. It's as if they were exploring new territories for the first time; he hadn't expected this Irina to be so intelligent and cunning, not playing by the rules.
According to Li Yao's simulations, the chances of the opponent using a big move hardly existed, yet she chose to execute it.
This wiped out almost the entire team, losing half the members. The two tanks were dead, the Balance Druid's combat resurrection was on cooldown, and the Death Knight's Death Summons, the Death Knight was dead too.
"What threat can this rabble pose to me now? I will give you one more chance: kneel and accept your fate. If your soul pledges loyalty to the Prince, you might even gain his trust and become his servant. Otherwise, even in death, your soul will endure endless torment." Irina got up slowly and said.
Taking a deep breath, Li Yao replied, "Pathetic, you still pledge loyalty to a so-called Prince. You subconsciously forgot something, so let me remind you. The reason you all died is because of your so-called Prince. Your energy was running low, and to continue absorbing energy, the Prince slaughtered the city's clans one by one, ultimately sparing not even the most loyal ones among you."
"Nonsense, you lie!" Irina's expression changed dramatically, as if recalling something she didn't want to acknowledge.
"You already know whether it's a lie or not. It's just that you don't want to believe it and subconsciously forgot the reason for your deaths." Li Yao sighed, "I don't reject the undead. My mentor was forgotten, also known as the Undead Queen. She is a successor of the Windrunner Family. If you choose to accept reality, I can introduce you to the Queen. With your strength, there's certainly a place for you in Undercity."
"Silence. The Windrunner Family is merely a remote, minor family. How could it compare to the Prince, the most favored of the Empress's aristocrats, asking me to turn to her? Ridiculous." Irina sneered.
"You have indeed been eliminated by the world. Do you really think I have no means against you? Since you choose death, I'll grant it." Li Yao sneered, "Hunter, stop playing dead. Flare the sky."
His Mechanical Avatar, specially equipped with a Phantom Cloak this time to avoid being distanced by ranged attacks, in the moon bright, star rare night, silver luminescence bathed the land.
But it's typical cloudy weather at this place, the moon hidden, casting no shadows.
Though the Hunter didn't know what Li Yao intended, he still rose with a roll and fired a flare into the sky.
The blinding light shot into the sky, and for a moment, everyone was cast into shadow.
Mirror Image!
Li Yao vanished from his position, appearing directly in Irina's shadow, his greatsword descending.
"A mere trick!"
Irina, who already had her weapon ready, smirked coldly, her form moving like the wind as she parried, her body seeming to float with the breeze.
However, this attack wasn't as heavy as expected, and though she didn't celebrate, her expression shifted.
Right after, she saw multiple Li Yaos appear in unison, launching assaults around her, thrusting her into a passive state.
"What are you waiting for? Focus fire on him." Li Yao commanded.
The rest snapped back to reality, witnessing Irina struggling under the assault of several Li Yaos, and began their attack in unison.
Irina was indeed flustered; in close combat, she couldn't withstand Li Yao's ferocious power and attacks, losing all advantage. On top of that, with all the ranged curses, agonies, and varied damages, she couldn't hold her own against Li Yao, unable to discern the real Li Yao from the fake.
She could only summon her War Bear, but Li Yao released a Freezing Trap. As a faction-level leader, Li Yao's Freezing Trap could freeze for a minute, and unless attacked, the opponent would stay sealed.
Without tier suppression and diminishing returns, the War Bear couldn't break free.
Irina frantically attempted to widen the distance, but being in close quarters and given the flare in the sky, she couldn't escape.
She was constantly assaulted, only able to defend desperately.
The team was more spirited than ever, while the only frustrated ones were the two healers, discovering Li Yao's health didn't drop, and when it did, it quickly replenished through bloodsucking.
Five minutes later, with an unwilling roar, Irina fell, and Li Yao halted, allowing the others to rescue people.
Then, nine pairs of eyes uniformly fixed their gaze on Li Yao, who helplessly said, "What are you looking at me for? Who usually loots the corpse?"...
