Chapter 1769: Troop Advancement
While others were reorganizing their troops, within Li Yao's Frame Space, a large number of Worm Tribe were being produced and then forged into the Steel Insect Tribe.
Li Yao also experienced consecutive large battles, and the enormous energy units accumulated within the Frame Space. Ever since Li Yao knew he would undergo major battles, he began a full military conversion during his time at the Arcane Tower.
The Steel Insect Tribe Legion was continuously being produced, and because Li Yao chose to fuse with the worm and Heart of Machinery on his path to becoming stronger, both elements were elevated in level, enhancing both the Worm Tribe and machinery by an additional level.
Initially, Li Yao thought his current strength was sufficient, deeming it unnecessary to showcase better units or further enhance his troops. However, given the extraordinary nature of this battle, storming a main city demanded no less preparation.
With the alignment of material enhancement, both elements leveled up to level four, their intrinsic levels, following the recuperation of their origins. Both presented a complete power form, not the weakened state induced by players.
This enhancement allowed Li Yao to produce more elite advanced ace units, and summon two Heroes at the Heroic Altar.
The prowess of the Heart of Machinery enabled Li Yao to produce more mechanical units. However, these units were not as decisive nor as potent as the ace bugs, and given their significant expense, Li Yao primarily focused on enhancing the bugs through the Heart of Machinery.
Nevertheless, the mechanical units were also powerful but difficult to create, and Li Yao planned to activate them after seizing the main city to acquire a vast amount of resources.
Over the past days, Li Yao had long sorted out his strategy, the two Heroes being one from the exceedingly huge Void King Insect.
This insect was unimaginably gigantic, with the Drying Sun reaching only two-thirds of its size, showcasing its enormity.
The Void Bug served as a Warship Bug for the Worm Tribe, traversing cosmic starspace. Due to power restrictions, the camp level version summoned by Li Yao was sufficient, and it contained Rule Power within, with a space incomparable to an Air Fortress.
After undergoing the augmented transformation by the Heart of Machinery's Furnace, it turned into the Steel Void King Bug.
Steel Void King Bug
Grade: Advanced Camp Level (Mutation)
Life: Ninety million
Armor: Biological Armor, Steel Body, Swarm Shelter
Specialties: Void Jump, Dimensional Speed, Void Expansion, Indestructible, Void Mystery.
Skills: Void Roar, Biological Breath, Dimensional Bug Summon, Void Crash.
Li Yao was satisfied with this immensely large Worm Tribe Hero, the only regret being not having found the information on the Void Bug Nest, otherwise, he would undoubtedly build a formidable Void Bug army.
This Hero essentially served as Li Yao's second Air Fortress and was portable, being much more convenient than the Drying Sun.
This battle was equivalent to having three Air Fortresses involved, providing considerable assistance.
Biological Armor was the armor of the Void Bug itself, resembling a city wall barrier, while the Steel Body was a result of the forging effect. Swarm Shelter related to summoning dimensional bugs, serving as a biological barrier,
Void Jump was equivalent to teleportation, albeit requiring Dimensional Speed to accelerate to a certain degree.
Indestructible was the result of inherent robustness combined with the characteristics obtained through forging, granting immunity to most damage.
Void Expansion was the reason it could harbor innumerable worm armies within its body, akin to Frame Space, yet distinct.
Void Mystery allowed mastery of void power, excelling in concealment and granting partial attack immunity.
Skill-wise, Void Roar functioned as a soundwave category skill to debuff opponents, while Breath involved spraying strong acid without further explanation needed.
Void Crash was a collision skill, using its massive body to crush opponents, and Dimensional Bug Summon involved summoning dimensional bugs to protect itself or form its armor as a shield.
The second Hero was a mechanical type; Li Yao chose a Grand Engineer, a mechanical lifeform possessing formidable manufacturing capabilities, an auxiliary Hero without combat power, but enabling the Heart of Machinery to operate at two hundred percent efficiency, serving as Li Yao's secret trump card for building engineering weapons in the main city assault.
While many units could be constructed through the Heart of Machinery, due to material and time constraints, Li Yao could only opt for the simplest fighter jets.
Initially, Li Yao could only rely on his resources for production, planning a fleet of ten thousand fighters, yet with the resource support from the main city, he anticipated exceeding over a hundred thousand fighters for the city assault, forming an elite air force.
This was the only manageable mechanical unit with visible quick results, while everything else involved refinement through the enhanced Heart of Machinery.
The main focus remained on the Worm Tribe, where Li Yao deliberated and further fortified the worm legion in his command.
The Metal Roaches were gradually falling behind in keeping up with Li Yao although they were quite strong, insufficient against ace armies.
Consequently, Li Yao advanced the Metal Roach Nests into Destroyer and Thunder Beast Nests, with existing Metal Roaches continually evolving into these two mutant ace units.
Both Thunder Beasts and Destroyers advanced the defense and recovery aspects of Metal Roaches, growing increasingly difficult to kill. Furthermore, Thunder Beasts gained more robust melee capabilities, their combat power skyrocketing, evolving beyond just tank units.
Meanwhile, Destroyers saw an enhancement in ranged capabilities, in addition to launching toxic fire bombs and breath; they could fire terrifying toxic-steel needles, piercing through armor with immense penetrative force.
To compensate for a lack of assault capabilities, Li Yao constructed a Jumping Bug Nest. Despite being ace units, the cost surprised Li Yao, requiring one energy unit to produce five Jump Bugs.
These Jump Bugs had exceptional jumping abilities, more practical than charging, equipped with scythe-like forelimbs and sharp teeth capable of effortlessly dispatching relatively fragile opponents.
Unfortunately, they had weak vitality, thin armor, making them easy to kill, even post-steel forging; yet, forging further amplified their relentless attack capabilities, becoming more dreadful.
Li Yao considered them a strike force, being affordable and efficient.
The impressive jumping capability allowed them to leap nearly a hundred yards into the air and cross several thousand-yard distances, avoiding engagements with enemy vanguard tank units to attack weak points.
Moreover, they would synchronize effectively with Tunneling Bugs.
To further bolster the air force's strength, Li Yao built several new nests to produce Brood Lord Units.
Brood Lords were flying units resembling manta rays, serving as powerful siege units; the Alien Bugs they spewed could besiege targets, inflicting massive damage to structures.
Like Jump Bugs, Brood Lords had strong offensive capabilities but weak defensive power. Jump Bugs, having a fear of tanks, remained countered despite their jumping ability.
But Brood Lords differed...
