Chapter 35 The Millennium Kingdom of Miss Witch
Time passed quickly, and it was night. Chloe prepared dinner for everyone. After she cleaned up the meal, Stewart continued to chat with the two of them tirelessly.
"Master, you should rest."
"Oh? Is it that late already?"
Stewart seemed to have just come to his senses. Chloe had already lit the oil lamp and was quite helpless about Stewart's willfulness.
"Master was so busy chatting that he only ate half of his dinner. He should pay more attention to his health."
"Haha, thank you for your trouble, but I hope Chloe can understand. I haven't met someone I can talk to so well in a long time. Take care, both of you. Devin Town is very safe at night, you can rest assured."
"Speaking of which, I have a favor to ask. We don't have money for accommodation. If you don't mind us being a nuisance, can we stay with you for a while during the commission?"
"No problem. Chloe, please prepare a room for you two to rest."
"Yes, sir."
Stewart readily agreed to Angelica's request, and even Chloe, who left Stewart's bedroom, expressed her sincere emotion.
"Please allow me to thank you personally. The master hasn't been so happy for a long time. I can hear the master's laughter when I was cleaning downstairs."
"You and Mr. Stewart... must have a very good relationship, right?"
"I am a homeless child. The master adopted me after he returned to Devin Town. Although it may be presumptuous to say this, I have always regarded the master as my father in my heart."
"He shouldn't be unhappy. He mentioned you when we were chatting. He said you were a very obedient child. He even... hoped that all his inheritance would be passed on to you after his death."
Angelica chose to tell the truth. Every time she mentioned Mr. Stewart's condition, Chloe's expression became much darker.
Angelica was puzzled by this. She was not well-versed in medicine, but no matter how she looked at him, Stuart didn't look like someone who only had a dozen days left to live.
"What is Mr. Stewart's disease?"
"I don't know. The doctor in town said it was a terminal illness."
Chloe wanted to say something when there was a hurried knock on the door. Angelica was curious about who would visit so late, but Chloe seemed to be used to it and hurried downstairs to deal with it.
Angelica vaguely heard Chloe arguing with someone. After a while, the argument stopped, and she returned to the second floor with a very forced smile and set up a restroom for Angelica and Abigail.
The next morning, after enjoying breakfast, Angelica came to Stewart's bedroom again. The difference was that besides Abigail, there was also a slightly troubled Chloe.
"I feel bad for her being so busy while we're chatting here, so I used some magic to help her out. Mr. Stewart, do you mind having an extra listener?"
"Of course I don't mind, as long as Chloe doesn't mind the same old story she's heard so many times before."
Stewart laughed heartily, and it seemed that he had just noticed the peculiarities of Angelica's attire.
"Speaking of which...are ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) you a magician?"
"Know a thing or two about magic."
"No need to be modest. I know that people with outstanding magical talents all have their own pride."
"Since you've said that, I'll admit it. Yes, I'm a genius, beautiful magician."
Chloe was shocked. Wow, this person is really not modest at all. She even emphasizes that she is a beautiful girl. Although Chloe was very unhappy, her first impression when she saw Angelica was that there was such a beautiful girl.
Abigail completely understood Chloe's feelings. She held Chloe's hand and whispered to Chloe that Angelica had always been like this. It would be better to say that she didn't even have the symbolic modesty of knowing a thing or two.
Stewart was filled with emotion.
"I really envy the magic genius. In order to facilitate my adventures, I have also learned some magic, but my talent is average, only up to the level of Sequence 8 at most. If it weren't for the amulet, I would have lost my life many times."
"Amulet?"
"Chloe, help me get the treasure from the drawer."
Chloe followed orders and took out an old-looking item from a box in the room. It looked similar to a sachet, but Angelica could tell it was a prop with magical powers.
Angelica asked Stewart to observe it closely. She watched it repeatedly and was amazed at the production concept of the magic item that Stewart called a talisman. It contained a spell that was enough to activate sequence six magic. Normally, the user only needed to charge it and inject magic power into it on time. When the limit was reached, it would be able to protect the life of the holder.
Angelica was sure that there was no similar item in the world before she went into seclusion, so out of curiosity, she asked Stewart about the origin of the amulet.
Stewart thought that Angelica was a magic genius who had no use for the amulet and therefore didn't know its origin, so he explained with a smile.
"The amulet was made by the chief court magician of the distant Kingdom of Bilsen."
"Eh? Flower Magician?"
"Yes, I bought it when it was first introduced because I thought it was very useful. I almost spent all my savings at that time. As a result, over the past few decades, the Flower Magician has been committed to reducing the cost of the amulet. Now the price of the amulet is less than one-third of what I paid for it at that time. I don't think I lost out. Later, it was this item that brought me huge wealth and allowed me to return home in glory."
Abigail thought that Stuart's wealth came from his adventure diary. Hearing what Stuart said, there must be some of his proud adventure stories in it. Seeing Abigail's expectant eyes, Stuart contentedly changed the subject.
"Do you know the Yamaurote Kingdom?"
"The Kingdom of Yamaurote ... I've never heard of it. What a strange name..."
Stewart turned his eyes to Angelica, who looked young but surprisingly knowledgeable. Unexpectedly, Angelica didn't say much this time.
"The Yamaurote Kingdom was destroyed thousands of years ago. There is a rare mineral called magic crystal ore that was produced at the site of the Yamaurote Kingdom. When I was exploring the site of the Yamaurote Kingdom, I accidentally discovered a large amount of magic crystal ore. By selling the magic crystal ore, I gained more wealth than I can spend in my lifetime."
"Why didn't anyone rebuild the kingdom that was destroyed thousands of years ago?"
Abigail naturally raised the question. The Yamaurote Kingdom had been destroyed for a thousand years, so it should be impossible for the old site to exist. There might be some ruins, but they should be protected as cultural relics, and adventurers should not be allowed to enter without permission.
"This is about the history of the Yamaurote Kingdom... Child, you may not believe it, but it is said that the Yamaurote Kingdom was founded by two witches."
