Chapter 66 Azure Flash Butterfly
The club activity room had many new members, some of whom were genuinely interested in the legacy of the Twilight Era and came because of that interest, while others were introduced by friends. Yalian, although he didn't often come to the club, had still shared it within his social circle, resulting in the arrival of two elves, a man and a woman. The man was named Phyllis, and the woman, Yeyeber.
Two mornings ago, Tilan and Annelli were thinking about how to organize future club activities when they heard a knock at the door. Following that sound, two blond elves walked in, both handsome and beautiful, making one marvel at the consistently high quality of elven beauty.
"Hello, my name is Phyllis, and this is my friend." He gestured toward his companion, a girl of similar height which was rare for elven females.
"Yeyeber." She replied briefly, her emerald eyes framed by round, frameless glasses, giving off the air of a scholar or researcher.
"I hope to find some interesting material on the Twilight Era from this club, like the Arcane Codex and such. Of course, I'm also willing to share some valuable and interesting things." She pushed up her glasses and got straight to the point.
While Tilan didn't dislike someone so straightforward, she did feel it was a bit too direct.
"I understand." She stood up, first inviting them to sit down in the activity room before inquiring how they found the club.
...
"So it was Yalian who introduced you." Tilan nodded, getting a sense of the circle they were from.
"Well, I can teach some things, but you don't need to be so utilitarian about it. You can just treat this place as somewhere to relax and gather." She shook her head and then briefly introduced the current activities.
"Gathering is socializing, but most of it is inefficient and meaningless. Those so-called 'friends' are just casual acquaintances." The two analyzed coolly, feeling that investing time in study and research was more substantial than socializing.
"Well, I do agree with that sentiment to some extent, but it's still better to relax from time to time." Tilan thought the members of her club each had quite the 'personality'.
"How about this, let's just gather every Saturday afternoon and evening, and leave the rest of the time untouched, alright?" The girl asked them.
They looked at each other and then nodded, "That's acceptable."
"Alright then, come here and fill out this form." The club members thus expanded from four to six.
Not long after they left, Annelli returned with a variety of newly purchased items, and seeing the two new forms on the table, she came over out of curiosity to ask.
"Do we have new club members?"
"Yes, like Yalian, they're all people obsessed with knowledge and research." Tilan let out a small sigh.
"But they're all good people without any ill-intentions, which makes me very happy." She nodded, not fearing the inability to recruit people, but rather not wanting those with ulterior motives and troublesome schemes to enter the club.
"Next, I'll go and post some announcements."
Just as the girl was deciding whether to post a few more notices to speed things up and recruit the ten members quickly, loud footsteps came from outside the door.
"Hey, Tilan, you're still recruiting new members, right?" Kinsenke, wearing a plaid short-sleeve shirt, beach shorts, and sandals, leaned against the door, with several followers standing behind him.
"Why is it you?" Annelli asked in surprise.
"To speak like that makes me feel like an outsider, Miss Annelli. We've met before, right? Let me think, it was the gathering at the Sea Blue Sky Hotel two years ago. It was the wedding of the eldest son of the Blue Porcelain Peacock Group, and many people were invited. Both of us were there." Kinsenke stroked his chin, recalling.
"To think you'd remember so well." Annelli herself had nearly forgotten about that gathering. She had simply accompanied her elders and had been introduced to many people, including Kinsenke.
"Alright, today's not the day for reminiscing with Miss Annelli. I'm wondering if Tilan would accept me as a new member," he said, settling down in a chair in front of Tilan, looking at the black-haired and serene girl.
He found her endlessly fascinating and was curious about her background.
Although the records showed she came from a common background, whenever he tried to uncover more details, he hit a wall, as if someone was protecting her from the shadows.
Considering his family's status and the High Rank firms he could employ, it was rare for secrets to remain hidden from him.
This meant that the black-haired girl was either extremely special or indeed favored by the Academy and thoroughly protected by it, with those forces operating out of sight, unnoticed by others.
Amidst the mundane, he had discovered a beautiful and captivating black rose. As an affluent young master, Kinsenke felt there was no reason not to pursue, as being part of the club activities gave him the chance to see a beautiful girl—a pleasing sight. And since Tilan was involved, Deloris, his cousin, was certainly around too; it was always worth it.
"I'm very grateful for the suggestion you gave last time, Tilan. How are you finding the new car? My family's company is working on a new model, and I hope you can offer me some suggestions when the time comes."
"I've used the new car a few times, and it feels great, but I'm afraid I can't offer suggestions, as I haven't used other luxury brands before." The girl shook her head and then looked toward the young master, closing her eyes slightly before opening them again.
