Chapter 130 The Fiery Red-Haired Saintess_3
"Hello, my name is Feruceline." The other party leaned slightly and introduced herself.
"Hello, my name is Hexia." The young girl also bent down to salute.
"Hexia..." The other party seemed to savor this name, pausing for a few seconds.
"Sorry, it took some time to recall."
"Hexia, coming here, I presume it's not merely for sightseeing or pilgrimage; I believe I might be able to assist you." The red-haired Saintess spoke in a gentle voice.
"Uh... indeed, there are some doubts, but they're more on a personal level."
"No matter, please feel free to speak, Hexia." The other party's golden eyes were as bright as flames, as if they could see through the girl.
"It's concerning my own identity." Tilan hesitated, not knowing where to start.
After thinking for a while, she decided to explain based on what she had learned from the old priest not long ago.
"I've discovered something different about myself, perhaps related to angels..." Then Tilan described the result detected by the old priest.
"I see, may I conduct a small test? It only requires Hexia to stand still." The other party nodded thoughtfully.
"Alright."
Following this, Feruceline shook the golden staff in her hand. Pale gold particles appeared in the air and then began to flow. They gently brushed over everything in the hall, passing through the girl and Feruceline herself in front of her. Surprisingly, neither left an outline in this golden light, as if they were flawless crystal.
"It is indeed special." Feruceline nodded slightly.
Then the staff in her hand paused, its base touching the floor, sending a ripple of light gold across it. The entire church hall was filled with intricate and beautiful patterns in gold, resembling golden feathers, tracing the path of stars and the structure of waves.
Amidst this intricate pattern of light, Tilan felt as if she were standing amid a vast, tumultuous sea, gravity warping and shifting, and the air's undulation faintly suggesting a tendency to drift upward.
The brilliant light continued to transform, highlighting the two individuals in the center. With each fluid morphing of the golden patterns, the magic flowing in the hall constantly changed as well.
Observing such a spectacle, the young girl watched with great interest, feeling the unique rhythm emanating from it. Although the red-haired Saintess did not speak, the mere ripple of light conveyed a certain melody to her.
After a long time, the floating golden patterns within the hall finally stopped and gradually dissipated into calmness.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't detect your heritage." The other party closed her eyes slightly, her voice tinged with regret.
"It's alright, I didn't have much hope in the first place." Tilan reassured her.
Then the two exchanged a few more words, and the other asked Tilan about her age and birthplace.
"The Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain, is it? I'm not familiar with that place; the Federation is too vast." Feruceline shook her head slightly.
"You mean, you have an older sister, probably a twin, is that correct?"
"That's right."
"I see."
...
"My name is Feruceline, and this is not my birth name, but the one I received as a blessing from the angel."
"Hexia, do you know that a name contains special meaning? Sometimes, the occurrence of certain names is not mere coincidence."
...
"Coming to Holy Soccarnas, Hexia, might have been guided by a certain vague intuition."
...
"I have never left Saint Sonas; I grew up here."
...
"Well, Hexia, have you heard of the Angel's Descent Ceremony?"
"The angel's descent requires a vessel, which is usually someone devout and pure-hearted. In the church, those blessed by the angel's descent are often referred to as Saint Heir or Saintess."
"Hearing this, you can probably guess by now, indeed, I am the Saintess blessed by the angel's descent in this era."
...
"There's not much novelty in the duties of a Saintess, but I have grown accustomed to it."
...
"The outside world, you say? I've heard of the Federation's splendor from everyone. If I were to leave, it would probably be at the end of my life, after relinquishing all duties."
...
"No need to comfort me on purpose, for it is my mission."
...
"Are you leaving, Hexia?"
"I'm sorry, having talked to you so much, Hexia, but you can't leave here." The red-haired Saintess spoke in a gentle yet irrefutable tone.
"Hexia, you cannot leave here, because—"
Once again, she opened her golden eyes, in which glistening light seemed to flow, her gaze filled with pity and regret. The staff in her hand once again emitted light, illuminating the golden patterns throughout the hall, making Hexia feel as if she were amidst a vast sea of light sand.
"You are not a life blessed by the angel's descent; you are a vessel of the Black Sun."
