Chapter 106: Those Familiar Figures
At the winter festival gala, ten songstresses from the Golden Flame Flower Academy performed together, broadcasted live across the Federal Official channel, slowly making these new generation songstresses known to many who had not paid attention before.
"The next fifty years will probably be their era." Some people commented.
Although there are currently 77 songstresses remaining in the Federation, with 64 still active, out of these 64, excluding the older generation and semi-retired songstresses, the truly active ones number around 40, and these ten in school already make up a quarter.
After the gala, Luo Fenghua and others stayed at the school for nearly a week, during which time gatherings were frequent, either hosted by Ailu Kelu or Luo Fenghua, or led by Jian Xin'er, with Xuelanke occasionally organizing one as well.
While enjoying themselves, the new generation of songstresses gradually became familiar with each other, especially Luo Fenghua and Jian Xin'er who were relatively strangers before.
Unlike Audrey, Luo Fenghua is a typically oriental lady, whether it's the delicacies and drinks she offers or her dressing habits, all have a very distinct oriental style.
"So, Luo, were you once of royal lineage from the East?" Blanchi curiously asked during a small gathering.
"Seems like it." Audrey thought for a moment.
"During the Third Era, the royal family of the Eastern Dynasty had four surnames, one of which was Luo, as the dynasty originated from the four countries that worshiped the red phoenix, and their royal families respectively had the surnames Ling, Heng, Xiao, and Luo."
"However, ever since His Highness reformed the system, there have been no royal families in the East, so it has gradually been forgotten over time."
While chatting, someone suddenly became curious, "I know Audrey's real name is Feng Jianchang, what about Tilan? Tilan also seems to be from the East, judging by her hair color and demeanor."
At this point, everyone's gaze turned to the girl in the corner, today she was wearing a cyan robe, playing chess with Luo Fenghua.
"Me?" Seeing everyone looking at her, Tilan thought for a moment.
"My name was given by my mother; she didn't care much about surnames. Perhaps it was to avoid trouble back then, so she didn't use a traditional Eastern surname."
"If I really had to mention it, it should be surname 'Gu', which is my mother and uncle's surname."
"Alright, don't be so old-fashioned. What era are we in now, talking about surnames like it's the era of feudal nobility, discussing lineage superiority." Ores interrupted at this point, disliking how everyone kept pushing Tilan towards Eastern traditionalism.
If others had said this, it might have sounded like sour grapes, but among those present, in terms of surname and lineage, Ores' family background was definitely the best.
Laughing, they skipped over this topic.
On another day, this time the group gathered at Jian Xin'er's mansion, which had an interior resembling an ancient castle, with some humanoid armor in the corners, heavy black curtains with elaborate fringe, and the servants inside the mansion also wore black uniforms.
At the banquet, Jian Xin'er appeared in a gown with a raven feather shawl, revealing her shoulders and much of her chest, quite stunning everyone present.
"So magnificent."
"It seems like it's not made from ordinary feathers, it must be very expensive to produce."
"It's made from the down feathers of a Night Raven; each Night Raven replaces its feathers upon maturity, and the feathers that grow afterwards become hard and unsuitable for making clothes, but the layer of feathers right before maturity is very suitable." Shui Yianqing explained the biological details.
Though she said nothing, the songstresses present could all tell that Jian Xin'er was quite fond of this raven feather shawl.
"I enjoy researching items from the past; they always bring me new discoveries and inspiration different from today." Jian Xin'er commented on her character and hobby.
"Well, you can also understand it as, I have a collecting obsession." She said with a light laugh, curling her fingers as she rested them on her shoulder.
"It's rare to return this time, so let me give you some gifts." She then had the servants bring in gift boxes to open on the spot.
Inside these gift boxes were exquisite artifacts: some were beautifully crafted swords, others were scepters with black lotus patterns and dark red agate, and others were scythe-like curved blades, among others.
"These are ancient weapons and tools recreated in partnership with corporations, each with different effects." She said, picking up the scythe-like black blade curved like a new moon.
Her white wrist, the half-transparent black veil sleeve, the mysterious crescent black blade; in the anticipation and curiosity of everyone, Jian Xin'er lightly sliced through a porcelain cup in front of her with the blade, without any noise or sound, after which the cup gradually slid apart, splitting into two halves with smooth edges.
"This blade has a special cutting effect on porcelain."
After using it, she picked up the beautifully crafted longsword, its handle root resembling a spiral, so when Jian Xin'er grasped it, threads of dark red seeped into the handle, then spiraled from the handle to the blade.
"This sword is modeled after the famous Vengeful Sword, Hodor."
"In the past, it has been referred to as a cursed artifact, a fratricidal sword, as when infused with blood and Magic Power, it causes great harm to enemies with similar bloodlines."
"It's said that the Blood Prince Aimank used this sword to slay the crown prince Anseaire and became the new Emperor."
"And this scepter." Finally, she picked up the scepter embedded with the black lotus and agate.
