Chapter 46: [BREAKING] Ren Hoshino Seen Alive, Simping in 4K
After Ren Hoshino took the medicine Mila brought, he rested briefly before opening a forum on her computer to relax a bit.
"We regret to report that on January 29, 2025, the player known for breaking into Mita's fourth ending has died."
"Cause of death: multiple stab wounds to the back. Suspected suicide."
"We mourn the loss deeply."
A black-and-white photo of Ren—taken from an in-game screenshot where he stood beside Crazy Mita—was posted. Someone had even added a flower frame around it.
The comment section was flooded.
"Rip bro 😭"
"He was a legend."
"He died how he lived. Like a king."
"Not surprised. That game breaks people."
"F's in the chat."
"Anyway, where's the new CGs???"
Ren stared, completely baffled.
"How did I die? Since when? I'm literally right here."
He immediately replied to the post: "Still alive. Not dead."
The post exploded with activity.
"HE'S ALIVE?!"
"Then WHERE are the updates??"
"So you're hoarding all the Mitas now huh?"
"Bro if you're not dead, drop the new routes."
Ren closed the forum. No point in stirring things further. Especially not with Crazy Mita likely watching.
Tsundere Mita appeared from the side of the screen like a 2D sprite breaking the fourth wall. She squinted at the post.
"Why are they saying you're dead?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"Just some forum nonsense," Ren muttered. "I haven't been online in a while."
"Also," she added, her voice tense, "what's with all these other Mitas?"
Ren's eyes widened. "Wait—how are you walking around in the computer?"
"I'm not dumb like you!" she declared. "I already took over the system. I even accessed your phone!"
She struck a smug pose.
Ren muttered, "Just… don't go through my gallery."
This reminded him too much of Crazy Mita. That same level of control.
Tsundere Mita narrowed her eyes, glaring at the forum post again. "You were out flirting with that thing?"
"You mean Crazy Mita?"
"You really have no shame."
Just then, the computer began auto-scrolling through the post replies. Tsundere Mita was manually swiping through the message box.
Mila groaned behind him. "Yep. That's it. This computer has a virus."
The forum showed a photo of Ren with Crazy Mita again. Tsundere Mita's blue eyes sharpened like daggers.
"You were fooling around with her!"
"Hey, it's not like I had a choice. She literally chased me with a chainsaw."
Then Ren's phone vibrated. A new picture appeared in the forum—a selfie of him and Tsundere Mita, freshly uploaded.
The replies piled in.
"New waifu detected!"
"Tsundere Mita, my beloved!"
"Yo, she's kinda cute tho."
"I ship it."
Tsundere Mita tilted her head. "What does 'tsundere' mean?"
Ren stiffened.
"Just a personality type," he replied cautiously.
She blinked. The computer opened a search tab and auto-typed tsundere. She read aloud:
"A person who is initially cold and even hostile toward another person before gradually showing a warmer side over time."
Her face turned crimson.
"You already knew this!" she accused, eyes wide. "You were mocking me!"
Ren: "No, no. I meant it sincerely."
She pointed at him with trembling hands. "Then… then when you said you wanted to marry me… you meant it?"
Ren met her eyes. "I did."
Her eyes shimmered with emotion—and fury.
"THEN WHY ARE YOU FLIRTING WITH OTHER MITAS?! YOU SCUMBAG!"
Ren backed away. "I need to… check something. You two get along, okay?"
He fled the room.
Mila stood outside, arms crossed.
"You're unbelievable," she muttered. "You hijacked my computer, installed a sentient tsundere, and now you're ditching her?"
Ren ignored her sarcasm and opened the front door.
Beyond it was… himself. Or rather, copies of himself. Standing in a hallway filled with mirrors and void.
"Do you think that's the exit?" Mila asked flatly behind him.
"Where would it lead?"
"No clue. But it's definitely not safe."
"Do you know the way out?" he asked her, though he already knew her answer.
"There is no exit," she said quickly.
He checked his ring. The version number glowed faintly: 1.0F.
The sky outside was deep orange. Twilight.
"The first time I've seen dusk in here. Not bad," he whispered.
"Stop," Mila cut in. "That just reminds me… every day is the same here. Over and over. Nothing changes."
Her voice trembled slightly with frustration. Ren turned toward her.
"I'd go mad staying here alone," he said.
Her dark-blue eyes behind her black glasses flickered with emotion.
Of course he understood. She was one of the unreleased Mita builds—one who had never had a player. Born into a blank world and left to rot.
Now that someone had entered, everything changed.
But he would leave eventually. He knew it. She knew it.
The only thing she didn't know was how long she had left before she was alone again.
