MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 649: Path

Since StreamGhost was still livestreaming, the entire world captured the moment, and speculations began to surge online like wildfire. Discussions erupted in forums, on streams, in news outlets, and across countless social media platforms.

But some people didn't even need to speculate. They already agreed unanimously that only such a beautiful and overwhelmingly powerful woman could stand beside their god.

To them, it was destiny itself, woven into the fabric of existence.

One viewer, half-jokingly, asked if their god, Anthony, had a harem.

But the reaction to that innocent question was instant and ferocious. Countless others leaped forward in rage, condemning the person who dared utter such blasphemous words. They declared loudly that such talk was fallacious, vile, and entirely against the newly spreading sacred holy book of their god.

Some, however, were left genuinely confused, wondering when and how a so-called "sacred holy book" had even been released in Anthony's name.

And then, almost absurdly, their question was answered in real-time. Out of nowhere, a sacred holy text was uploaded across the digital world as an APK file. In a matter of moments, downloads skyrocketed into the hundreds of millions.

The servers strained under the pressure as people across world rushed desperately to read the new "scripture" of their god.

Back in the desert, Anthony and Vega had just finished sharing their quiet, fleeting moment of peace. Anthony lifted his Infinity barrier, allowing the millions gathered beyond to step forward.

Though their numbers were beyond comprehension, Anthony recognized every single one of them at a glance. Even after seeing their faces only once, he knew them all.

They were the soldiers he had resurrected.

As they approached, silence stretched across the desert. They did not waste time on words; instead, they dropped to their knees in perfect unison, bowing low in grateful reverence. Their hearts thundered with raw, genuine emotion. Anthony could feel it surge into him like a tide, pure and heavy.

He understood what they felt. These were men and women who had died, only to be resurrected freely, without cost, without chains. Such a miracle was something beyond comprehension.

How many in existence could do this? Surely not even the godlike League of Supreme, the nine untouchable Supreme Monarchs.

And even if the Monarchs possessed such ability, would they ever choose to resurrect mere soldiers?

Unlikely.

To them, soldiers were nothing more than disposable pieces on a board. They might resurrect their own bloodline, a child, a grandchild, but not common warriors.

Anthony suddenly found himself unsure of what to say. For once, words eluded him. But he didn't have to speak. The soldiers, sensing his silence, rose back to their feet and dispersed quietly, creating space around him.

Anthony exhaled a quiet sigh of relief. He wasn't the type for speeches, nor did he care to play at being one. What should he have even said to them?

"Don't think too much about it?"

The very thought sounded ridiculous. Fortunately, the matter had resolved itself before it became awkward.

The soldiers soon returned to their duties. They began gathering what remained of their shattered military aircraft, carefully retrieving every scrap of destroyed parts, every intact body of machinery strewn across the desert.

Not a fragment was left behind. Their discipline was iron, their intent clear: not even the smallest piece of military-grade weaponry would fall into the hands of the inhabitants of the Blue Planet.

But everyone knew the truth, many aircraft had been utterly annihilated in the earlier chaos. Even after recovering what they could, they would need new machines if they were to return to the military base Alpha-9.

Suddenly, the sound of something tearing through the skies reached Anthony's ears, sharp and violent. His gaze snapped upward. A streak of wind split the air above, and flying directly toward him was Dale.

In a blink, Dale reached Anthony and halted midair, crashing into a standstill with such force that the surrounding winds cracked apart. The barrier of wind he carried with him exploded outward, scattering dust and force.

The look in Dale's eyes was different now. He seemed as though he had found his ultimate connection, his unshakable anchor. Though Anthony had always been his captain, his lifeline within the military, this was something deeper.

To stand under a man who could rival a Supreme Monarch was to stand beneath eternal protection. It was not just loyalty now, it was certainty. With Anthony as his leader, his future was no longer uncertain. Promotions, honor, and safety were forever assured.

"Captain…" Dale's lips curved into a sly grin as he spoke with a trace of jest, "are you perhaps looking to take in another lover?"

Anthony only smiled faintly and offered no reply. There was no need to, neither of them swung that way, and so the jest died quietly in the air.

Dale's thoughts were already running elsewhere. He considered stopping by the Vampire Domain to gather his wives and children, registering them all formally under the military banner. Under Anthony's protection, their futures would be secured, their paths carved with promise.

Within moments, the rest of the squad arrived in full formation: Spectre, Clement, Reynold, Kingsley, and Seraphim. Alongside them walked Vivian and Donna, their steps calm, their faces carrying a quiet ease.

At this moment, Vivian felt unlike herself. Her entire being seemed refreshed, as though something heavy had lifted from her mind. A strange, crystalline clarity filled her. She felt light, whole, almost reborn. The air itself seemed sharper, more colorful. The world no longer looked muted; it blazed with vibrancy she had long forgotten.

Her usual ice-like expression had melted away completely. A genuine smile tugged at her lips, lingering as though it had no intention of leaving. Her gaze lifted instinctively to the skies above, her eyes tracing upward as though they landed on the very gates of heavens itself.

'Are you watching, Mom? Dad?' she thought silently, tears pressing against her lashes. 'Are you proud of the woman I've become? Are you watching your daughter's journey from wherever you are? Are you happy? Please… I hope you are resting in peace, for your daughter has finally fulfilled her lifelong mission.'

The tears fell, but the moment they slid down her cheeks, they crystallized into ice, dissolving into the wind as faint shards of frozen light.

In that instant, Vivian felt something she had not felt in years, accomplishment. Completion. Wholeness.

The weight she had carried for so long was gone. The endless cycle of nightmares and memories of her parents' death faded into nothingness. No longer would her heart be chained by the past. From now on, her journey was hers alone, and she would carve her path with unshakable determination.

Then, like a spark igniting in her heart, a thought struck her with blinding clarity.

Resurrection.

Why had she never considered it before? Her mind raced. She possessed a system, a limitless system capable of doing anything and everything, provided she had enough subordinate points to pay the cost.

For the first time, she wondered why she had never thought of resurrecting her parents. Four years she had lived with the system, and never once had the idea entered her mind until this moment.

But it didn't matter. The path was clear now.

She had no intention of walking up to Anthony and asking for his help. This was her responsibility, her power, her choice. She would resurrect her parents herself.

'At least,' she thought firmly, 'they will awaken to a new world. A world where the Forsaken Cult no longer roams free, where danger is not lurking around every corner. They will be safe. And when they return, I will buy them the best Talent the system can offer. Because in the end, the truest safety is not protection sort from others, it is power one wields for themselves.'

Determination flickered in her eyes like a steady flame. Her next path had revealed itself. It was time to walk it without hesitation.
