Chapter 5: The Dark Lord's Instigation
The Dark Lord resided within his throne room, resting his left elbow on the arm of his throne and his fist against his face. The Dark Lord held his other arm out in front of him as a large scar-like black mark formed on and wrapped around his right arm like a snake. Sludge-like black particles seemed out from the mark, and clumped together in The Dark Lord's palm and smoothed into a perfect sphere.
The large double door of the throne room shook before it was blasted apart by a booming explosion. The Dark Lord tilted his head to the side before a shard of metal pierced into the back of the chair. A party of three otherworlders rushed into the throne room with their weapons drawn.
A teenaged Japanese girl (lightly tanned skinned human with super contrasting tan lines on her shoulders, averaged height, long grey hair with blonde hair tips, two hair buns on the side of her head, and a ruby red left eye and a sapphire blue right eye) wielding a claymore like a fencing sword.
A tall teenaged Japanese male (fair-skinned human, spikey black hair with large silver hair tips, and silver eyes) wielding a silver cube-shaped key chain.
And a short little Japanese girl (pale white skinned, long dark royal blue hair with the end tired into the shape of a pickaxe, and emerald eyes) carrying a comedically large scythe with a neutral expression on her face.
The female sword wielder pointed her free arm at the empty door frame, and a wall of stone bursted out from the floor to block the doorway. The trio panted heavily and collapsed to their knees as the sound of crashing waves surged past the doorway.
"Damit it, Ethel; why did you have to try and fight that horde of large platinum golems?" the warrior asked as she looked at the little girl.
"But I won tho," Ethel stated proudly with her neutral demeanour and expression.
"Yeah, but you broke the glass of that jumbo-sized aquarium," the male stated.
"But Kou-Ton, that fish looked at me funny," Ethel muttered, with a neutral expression on her face as she pouted. Kou rubbed his forehead and sighed.
"So, Natzuki, what should we do now?" Kou asked as he looked over at the warrior.
"I don't know... given how much water was in that aquarium we'll be here for a while," Natzuki uttered as she flopped on the floor.
"I will gouge the corruption from this world, and once my mission is finished this world will be basked in a new dawn," The Dark Lord proclaimed, his voice booming through the chambers of the throne room. The teenaged duo froze on the spot as The Dark Lord's voice shook their very core while Ethel sat on the floor with her neutral expression.
The Dark Lord walked down from his elevated throne before he walked into the moonlight to reveal himself: his pale white to the point it looked faintly cyan skin, dark silver hair with glowing pale cyan and glowing black tips, and his uncountably-changing in number of long kitsune tails(which match his hair) refracted the moonlight as he walked forcing the trio to squint their eyes to get a better look at The Dark Lord.
The Dark Lord walked out of the direct line of the moonlight, giving the trio a clear view of him; he was a tall adult male with kitsune ears(which match his hair: left ear tip is glowing pale cyan and right ear tip is glowing black), a large scar all over left arm; wearing a skintight darksteel threaded full-body apart from his arms spandex suit, baggy dark ocean blue cargo trousers with five darksteel metal shields floating around his hips and behind him in the vague shape of a dress, and slightly cracked silverwood getas.
"I, The Dark Lord, I, The God of Ruin, The Harbinger of The Eternal Nebular, Zalrotho, will be your undoing," Zalrotho uttered coldly as he stared down the trio with his pure grey eyes and scleras. He raised his foot and slammed his foot on the floor, causing large fracturing cracks to splinter over the entirety of the throne.
The trio of Japanese students staggered on the spot as the throne room rumbled and shook from the mini earthquake created by Zalrotho. Natzuki stumbled to her feet as she was swooped up by a transparent floating platform made of purple mana before it swooped up Kou as a floating Ethel guided it.
"Do you think that kitsune guy is the boss of this Castle Dungeon?" Ethel asked as she neutrally stared down Zalrotho as black sludge particles separated from his black arm mark and formed into a metalic sphere.
"Given, he announced himself before he attacked and him being in a throne room would've made that obvious," Kou remarked before he tapped his cube key chain, and multiple hunting boomerangs popped out from the key chain.
"Oh...," Ethel uttered before the sphere Zalrotho created earlier pierced through Etherl's floating mana form and left a hole in it. The trio stared at the hole and the platform as it rapidly crumbled to dust. Ethel watched as her teenaged companions floated even though her platform wasn't there anymore.
The trio looked around and noticed they were all covered by a pale pink glow before they were slowly lowered to the ground. Zalrotho lowered his right hand as it was covered by the same pale pink glow. Zalrotho lowered the three otherworlders to the ground before all the pale pink glows vanished, and the otherworlders plopped onto the ground.
"Do you feeble mortals wish to continue?" Zalrotho stated coldly as more black metal spheres formed around him. Ethel rose to her feet and raised a transparent cube containing the black metal sphere Zalrotho previously fired.
"Try your worst!" Ethel shouted, the transparent cube wrapped around the sphere, giving the metal sphere a grid-like effect. The metal sphere's shape morphed and contorted before expanding into a comedically giant scythe with the grid effect over it.
"Cube Release," Zalrotho said under his breath, causing Ethel to flinch and the others to blink like a deer in headlights.
"Huh?" Ethel uttered.
"Cube Release: it allows you to create transparent cubes of various sizes, which allows you to reshape anything within the cubes and then apply various traits to the things within the cube: such as applying elemental elements, other materials, Et Cetera," Zalrotho stated calmly as he snapped his fingers and all the damage in the room was reversed by a wave of teal and lime qi.
"Would you like me to go on?".
"Huh?" Ethel murmured.
"Natzuki: Unique Azure Ability: Progenitor; it allows her to copy any ability also long as she can clearly remember how it functions. Kou: Unique Azure Ability: Recall; it allows him to recall people or objects to locations he marks with a special magic mark," Zalrotho uttered mindlessly as he straightened the carpet below him.
"It works on people?" Kou uttered. Zalrotho raised his eyebrow at Kou.
"Of course... ...; you three know what your abilities are, do you not?" Zalrotho asked with a concerned tone. The trio glanced at each other and back at Zalrotho before shaking their heads. Zalrotho took in a long breath and exhaled loudly as the magic mark on his arm faded away.
"And those idiots who summon otherworlders wonder why the otherworlder they summon have a hard time," Zalrotho grumbled as he gritted his teeth.
"You lot," Zalrotho said coldly, causing the three otherworlders to nervously flinch.
"Y-yeah... s-sir?" Natzuki muttered with a stutter.
"Are there any other otherworlders in my Magic Dungeon?" Zalrotho asked.
"No... we were able to come in earlier since we finished the test they had us go through, earlier," Natzuki said at a quick pace. Zalrotho groaned once again as he covered his eyes.
"I'm going to have a word with those muppets," Zalrotho uttered as he lowered his hand.
"Seeing as you made it to this room, I suppose you three deserve some sort of reward... even if you didn't defeat me," Zalrotho stated as he warped back to his throne and sat down.
"I would ask what you want, but I already know what you want, so I'll simply fulfil them," Zalrotho said as he boredly rested his chin on his fist and snapped his fingers. The trio flashed and was encased by a veil of green qi. The qi dispersed, and the trio were now donned in new clothing.
Natzuki was wearing dawnite (a shiny silvery metal) wrist guards, dawnite hiking boots, rouge-coloured leggings, a dawnite thread vest with a hood, a rouge-coloured short cloak around her hips, and a darksteel (the name speaks for itself) claymore on her back.
Kou was wearing a ninja scarf, boots, and gloves; vertically striped trousers and a horizontally striped vest. He also had a collection of dawnite boomerangs.
Ethel was wearing a black and grey checkered hoodie, a frilly black skirt, black and grey striped leggings, and blacked silverwood crocks. She also has six small black hip wings and small fangs.
Ethel raised her hand to her face and lightly poked one of her new fangs, causing her hip wings to flutter giddily. Natzuki and Kou stared at Etheral as she was ecstatic about her new wings and fangs.
"What did you do to Ethel?" Kou asked confusedly.
"I modified her DNA and genetic make-up to make her half-vampire, just like she wanted," Zalrotho stated. Zalrotho placed his fingers back together as he gathered pale pink qi around them.
"Just to let you know, kid, you can keep the scythe you made," Zalrotho added. Ethel's wings excitedly fluttered while her face remained neutral as she picked up the black metal grid-textured scythe. Zalrotho glanced out of the open window and stared at the many moons and stars filling the sky.
"Now... let us have a word with those actually foolish mortals... and one none-mortal," Zalrotho uttered under his breath; he snapped his fingers and filled the room with a bright pale pink light, and once the light faded, the throne room was empty.
