Chapter 1: New Life, New Problems
An abyss that expands as far as the eye can see in every direction, no signs of life, no way of knowing how much time had passed, and seemingly no logical way to escape it. This is where I have been stuck for, I don't know how long, unable to do anything to figure out why the hell I'm here.
I have many questions as to what the fuck is going on, but no way of getting any real answers. So, all I could do was try and focus on what happened before my 'imprisonment' in this blank void, and hopefully that my give me some type of answer.
First, and foremost, I'm not going to say something like, I was just an average girl, cause that's just complete bullshit, no one is just an average anything. To say that would mean that nothing actually noteworthy happened in your life, or that you just based your entire personality and interest on someone else's. You'd basically be telling the world 'Hey! I'm a basic bitch that willingly chooses to be completely uninteresting!', which would be fine if you were some OP protagonist who hides their true power, but outside that it just becomes annoying.
Anyway, before I got here I was doing my regular weekly routine on the days I have off work, binging anime all night. I did this mostly because I just enjoy the stories, animation styles, and the worlds in anime. Though I may have also done this repeatedly for the hot women in them. Which I'm not ashamed to say, cause a lot of those girls look like they came straight out of a wet dream and if admiring them was a crime then lock me up!
Anyway, again, that day I was rewatching My Hero Academia, since the final season was going to air soon, and I wanted to make sure that I didn't forget anything. But, after I finished watching season seven again everything starts to become pretty damn fuzzy.
I think I decided to take a walk to stretch my legs a bit? But, then it just becomes such a jumbled mess that it honestly begins to hurt trying to remember anymore. What happened to me after I left my apartment? Did I get kidnapped again or something? Was I drugged?
Well, right now it doesn't really matter, since I can't really do anything and there's no one here to answer my questions, and since I can't really even feel my own body, trying to move around would just be pointless.
So, I guess I'm just stuck here until whatever is keeping me from doing anything stops, which is pretty damn annoying, but not like I can do anything about it.
.
.
.
Okay, note to self, being stuck in an endless void, two out of five stars, would not recommend. The lack of senses may not be bothering me the most here, but the fact that being in this place is beyond boring as fuck!
Even trying to daydream about being somewhere else isn't helping at all, all it does is remind me that I have no control of what's happening to me, pisses me off, then I stop thinking for a while just to calm down and stare at the void, rinse and repeat.
I swear if it weren't for the strange light in front of me, I would have already gone insane- wait.... strange light? That wasn't there before.
[Host Located. Beginning Soul Transfer]
The light began to grow in size, and I began to feel like something was pulling me towards it. I was powerless to even try to resist the pull, since I couldn't do anything.
'What the fuck is going on!?' I had no idea what was going on, so of course I would question my situation.
[Answer: Host is in the process of being transferred to their new body]
A red panel opened up next to me and replied to my question, much to my shock as I didn't know why it was addressing me as 'Host', I didn't know how it could read my mind, and I don't know why I need to be put into a new body.
'What are you?!' I may have a suspicion as to what the hell this light and voice are, but I still need to hear it to actually believe it.
[Answer: The Chaos System]
'Oh... welp, I may be fucked!' Was the last thing I thought before the light consumed my view entirely.
After a while of being blinded by the strange light everything went dark again, though it was different, extremely different. Now I could feel the fresh outdoor air fill my lungs, I could feel the hard bark of the tree that I seemed to me sitting against, I could feel the soft grass under me, and above all else, the darkness felt more natural now. Instead of the abyss that I was in before, this one felt more like I had just been sleeping before, and now I just needed to open my eyes to wake up from what some would consider a nightmare.
So, I did just that, I began to open my eyes, although it was a bit more difficult than I remember, it still felt relieving to actually have some semblance of control again.
When I opened my eyes I immediately had to shield them from the light of the morning sun above me, and it took a couple of minutes before my eyes could adjust. But, I kind of wish I didn't open my eyes, because the first thing I saw after my eyes adjusted was the reflection of a shocked little girl on the sliding door across from me in the backyard of a house that I didn't recognize. The girl couldn't have been older than six, she had blonde hair that was tied up into two somewhat messy buns, and her eyes looked like honey toned cat eyes, all of these points to it being one person when they were a child.
"Himiko Toga..." When I said that name the mouth of the girl's reflection also moved along with my words. What I was looking at was not just the reflection of the future blood crazy villain, it was my own reflection.
A part of me may have been happy to see her (me?), since Himiko was one of my favorite characters in MHA, who I may or may not have read a lot of fanfics about. But that doesn't mean I wanted to be her, seriously, I'd much prefer to get with her over this shit.
[Host, would you like to open your Chaos Starter Pack?]
[Yes/No]
The system didn't even give me time to process this information, and why would it? A system is just a tool for its host to use to get stronger, or a tool to turn the host into a pawn for some higher being, so why would it give a damn about my feelings. A tool just does whatever the person who's using it wants it to do.
"First, why am I in Himiko's body?" I might as well ask, since it did answer my other questions already, so why not see if it'll answer this one too.
[Answer: The Host current body was the most compatible, thus it was the best option to house the soul of the Host]
I didn't know what I wanted to do more, cuss out this system to high heaven, or try going to sleep to see if I can just wake up back in my apartment, because of this shit. But, since I don't know if insulting the system would cause a punishment quest to suddenly pop up, and I don't know if this even is actually a dream, so this might be my new reality, meaning even if I want my questions answered, I only have one real choice here.
"Yes, open the Starter Pack..." Just go with the flow, if this is a dream, cool, if it's not, then I have to use everything I can get my hands on to avoid getting fucked over in this world where a single person could potentially destroy a country in a day.
Once it received my confirmation, I heard what sounded like the chime of the bell in the back of my mind, which was then followed by two panels popping into view.
____________
[Congratulations! You have gained the following:
Quirk - Healthy Body
Quirk - Siren Song
Item - Animal Blood Vial
Would you like to accept the seeds of chaos?]
[NOTICE: Siren Song is incompatible with the user's body! Would you like to begin the adjustment process, or would you like to skip it?]
____________
"Hm? What's the adjustment process?" I asked while looking at the quirks, trying to figure out what they do based on their names.
[Answer: The adjustment process will slowly make the Host body capable of using the quirk as if the Host was born with it naturally]
"And, what happens if I skip it, then?" It was probably just going to keep me as is, and I'll just stay incompatible with the quirk, but it's best to check, just in case.
[Answer: The adjustment process will be rushed, so it will only take a few minutes, but this will result in a great amount of pain for the duration of those minutes]
"Aka, no pain no gain... Fine, then, begin the adjustment process, and accept the 'seeds of chaos' or whatever the fuck." The fuck is a seed of chaos? Is that what this system just calls the shit I get 'cause it's the Chaos System, or is it something else entirely?
____________
[Adjustment Process has now begun. Expected time to completion: 336 Hours]
[Healthy Body has now been bound to the Host]
[Animal Blood Vial has been placed in Inventory]
____________
"Okay, I have no idea how many days that makes it, but, dude, I have an inventory?" Ah, yes, the inventory, a common thing that has appeared in most Isekai anime for a long ass time, and even more common when it comes to systems, so I should've expected this.
[Answer: Yes. Would the Host like to see the Systems features?]
"Sure." I should see what all this system can do anyway, that way I can get to the real question here of, whose backyard am I fucking at?
After I gave it the go ahead, I swore I could hear an old computer start up in the back of my mind before it showed me a panel that was called Status, which had info on me, there were also three tabs above it called Quest, Inventory, and Titles.
____________
[STATUS
Name: Himiko Toga/Eve
Species: Human(?)
Title: N/A
Quirks: Transform, Healthy Body, Siren Song (Currently Undergoing Adjustment)
Current Strength: Below Average Human]
____________
"Yeah, makes sense that my strength is that low, I am a literal child. Now, let's see what the other things got." For now, it was best that I just ignore the species thing, 'cause I don't think it's worth thinking about for now.
Looking at the tabs all I had to do was think about which one I wanted to go to next and the system did the rest. Both the Quest and Titles tabs were empty, while the Inventory one only showed the blood vial I got earlier. The only thing noteworthy about it was the image of a cat on it, which is probably what animal it came from in the first place.
"Welp, that told me nothing I couldn't already guess. Looks like it's time to finally see where I am, if I'm at the Toga house, and if they are just as shitty or shittier, I'm gonna go straight for the first knife I see." Finally getting up from the tree that I was sat against, it was time to actually get to doing shit, since I can't sit here all day questioning the system.
Hopefully, I won't have to kill again so soon.
