Chapter 73 – Forest IV
...
<Lena Oxton - PoV>
As I quickly approached the camp, I began to hear a variety of different voices not too far from me.
“There are more people here... They are fighting...“ Kyoka muttered from behind me, causing me to pause for a moment before taking a careful look at the WWPC Base.
Actually, I was at the WWPC Base of Operations and not at the main camp. I changed direction towards the base, as the camp was not equipped with medical equipment, and I wasn't exactly good at applying first aid.
'Although Aizawa might be...'
Shaking my head, I looked towards the battle raging outside the WWPC Base.
Tiger was fighting against a big guy with long hair that vaguely reminded me of a hippie. The hippie was carrying, for some reason, a big stone column that he used as if it were some kind of improvised sledgehammer.
However, despite the fact that his opponent is armed, Tiger stands his ground and even manages to land several consecutive blows without taking any damage. The experience of more than 10 years of being a Pro Hero was showing in all its splendor.
Not far behind them was Mandalay, fighting against ....
'That's a freaking lizard with Stain cosplay and a big sword made of sharp weapons?' I thought as my brain momentarily shut down from the ridiculous scene that was happening in front of me. A girl in questionable cat cosplay is fighting a lizard dressed as a famous assassin.
What the heck.
W-Well, ignoring the absurdity of the situation....
Mandalay was holding her own against the lizard, but it looked like that wouldn't last long, as she was just dodging and dodging with no chance to counterattack due to the lizard's speed and constant surprise attacks.
In fact, I was quite surprised that I had yet to get hurt from this encounter, considering she did not possess any improved reflexes or speed like me.
A groan in my back reminded me that I was still carrying Kyoka and that I needed to get her inside the building... but with these villains outside, there's little I can do without them noticing my presence...
A movement in the corner of my vision caught my attention, turning my head towards the forest, I could see how the leaves were moving slightly.
Frowning, I looked past the battle and....
'Midoriya- WHAT THE FUCK?!' My eyebrows rose in surprise, not at her appearance, but at the heavy damage all over her body.
The little lettuce was heavily injured, with much of her body full of bruises, scratches and bleeding in different places, one of her arms seemed to be particularly fucked up if her crimson red color was anything to go by.
Midoriya took a stance that looked familiar as his body began to generate small green lightning bolts, it didn't take me long to realize what he was up to.
Knowing what the green-haired man was about to do, I carefully set Kyoka down on the forest floor. It was better to leave her here than to carry her in the middle of a fight.
“I need to get this over with quickly” I muttered as I activated Haste again and fixed my attention on the Hippie. “I don't know who you are, but you're going to pay for taking my only day off.”
Coordinating as best I could with Midoriya, I activated an Acceleration and appeared right next to the Hippie as Midoriya dove headfirst into the reptile.
Freezing for a second at my sudden appearance, the Hippie looked at me with wide eyes before it tried to hit me with its strange weapon. But I only needed that one second that he stood still to give him a brutal full body beating.
Before the Hippie knew what happened, he was already flying towards Tiger. Said Hero didn't waste the opportunity I gave him and threw a thunderous punch in the head that sent him straight to the ground and generated a crater around him.
Tiger stared at him for a moment - making sure he wouldn't get up again - before turning to me with a small smile. “Well done!”
I gave him a smile before looking to the side to see the reptile also fall unconscious against the ground thanks to a combination of punches between Midoriya and Mandalay.
“Thanks, but who the fuck were they? And how do they know we're here?” I asked viciously as I looked at both villains lying on the ground. “Although I can guess that the reptile was a Stain fan.”
“I have no idea...” Tiger growled as he walked over to Pixie-Bob and lifted her into his arms, I hadn't even realized she was here.
I felt the blood leave my face as I looked at Pixie-Bob's once delicate face turned to mush.
A huge amount of blood was constantly pouring from her head; her left arm was bent at a strange angle, and she had the odd scratch or two all over her body.
It didn't take a genius to know that she had been ambushed by both villains at the same time. The blood on Hippie's gun only confirmed my suspicion.
“They're from The League of Villains!” Midoriya exclaimed as he staggered to stand, Mandalay lending him a shoulder as he informed him that Kouta was safe.
'...I had forgotten about the brat' I thought absentmindedly before heading back into the forest to pick up Kyoka and carry her inside the base. Tiger quickly got to work as he carefully pulled the knife out of Kyoka's shoulder, stitched up the wound, and then bandaged it.
A similar but longer process was applied for Pixie-Bob.
It was a strange feeling to know that you are as strong as metal but still not be able to do anything to protect those you care about.
...
I needed to keep getting better.

<Some hours later...> <Third Person - PoV>
It had been about an hour and a half since the Villains started attacking WWPC territory, and they retreated once they accomplished their goal. It took about 15 minutes for the police and ambulances to reach the WWPC territory.
Lena had stayed at the WWPC Main Base, guarding the place with Kyoka. Both girls took care of Kouta and Pixie-Bob very carefully, while the other Heroes and Students scattered through the forest in search of more missing Villains and Students.
That idiot Midoriya had rushed headlong into danger without caring about anything or anyone when he knew that the target of the League of Villains was Bakugo. Because of that stupid decision, he was now unconscious and on the verge of death due to damage to his internal organs, bones, and blood loss, among other things.
He is lucky that UA provides free treatment to its students, or Midoriya would be in debt up to his eyeballs.
When most of the students awoke, the news was revealed as to what the target of the League of Villains' attack was.
It turned out to be, to everyone's surprise, Bakugo.
Yes, the screaming idiot with cynical tendencies.
Why Bakugo?
Was all this spectacle necessary for a simple student?
What was the League of Villains gaining from this?
Those questions haunted Lena's brain with force, but in the end she simply shrugged it off, she didn't have a view of the big picture of how things were in Japan, and she honestly didn't think the League of Villains stood to gain much.
Instead, Kyoka had more or less guessed the main goal of the League of Villains.
Reputation.
In both senses.
The reputation of the League of Villains would skyrocket after this attack, making new villains interested in joining their group. As an example of this, the Hero Killer, Stain, joined the League of Villains before he was captured by Endevour.
And it only took that brief period of time for new villains to emerge from the shadows and join the group.
And as a domino effect, UA's reputation would plummet downward after this coup. That Golden School image would go up in smoke when the media learned that a student was kidnapped from under UA's nose, and that's not counting the damage to all the other students and faculty.
Not to mention that the HPSC would not stand still after this huge disaster.
Kyoka wasn't very interested in politics or anything like that, but during her Stay with Edgeshot, he explained to her the intricacies of the Heroic Society in depth and how it would work in different hypothetical cases.
She could only hope that this would not affect her studies as a Heroine...
