Chapter 3: Chapter 03 ~ To The Academy.

Chapter 03 ~ To The Academy.

The chaos of the day had finally subsided as the heroes successfully apprehended the villains, their defeated forms being loaded into police vehicles under the watchful eyes of both law enforcement and the gathered crowd. The street was now illuminated by the flashing red and blue lights of police cars, their sirens silent but their presence commanding. A few pro heroes lingered at the scene, their expressions a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction. Mt. Lady stood at her normal size, wiping a bead of sweat from her forehead as she glanced at the setting sun. "Whew, that took longer than I thought," she said, her voice carrying a hint of relief. Naruto stood beside her, his arms crossed as he observed the police officers moving with precision. "These guys act like Chunin," he remarked, his tone casual but thoughtful. Mt. Lady looked at him, a small smile playing on her lips. "You keep using these strange terms," she said, shaking her head. "Anyway, sorry for making you wait all day. We can go now."

A sleek black car pulled up, its polished surface reflecting the fading light of the sunset. A driver in a formal black suit stepped out, bowing slightly as he opened the door for Mt. Lady. "Your efforts are commendable, ma'am," he said respectfully. She nodded and slid into the car, but just as the driver was about to close the door, Naruto hesitated, standing awkwardly to the side. The driver glanced at him, unsure of what to do, until Mt. Lady leaned out and said, "He's with me." The driver quickly apologized, bowing to Naruto as well. "My apologies, young sir," he said. Naruto climbed into the car, his eyes wide as he looked around at the luxurious interior. He shifted uncomfortably, his sandals brushing against the plush seats. Mt. Lady chuckled, noticing his unease. "What's wrong? You're acting like it's your first time in a car," she teased. Naruto scratched the back of his head, his cheeks slightly red. "Well... it is," he admitted.

As the car began to move, Naruto stared out the window, his eyes darting from one unfamiliar sight to another. The city lights blurred past, and the hum of the engine filled the silence. Mt. Lady turned to him, her expression softening. "Now," she said, her tone more serious, "can you really tell me where you came from and what you're doing here?" Naruto hesitated for a moment, then sighed. "I was in Konoha, walking through the streets, looking forward to eating at Ichiraku Ramen—it's my favorite spot, and the guy who runs it makes the best ramen in the world. But as I turned the corner leading to the shop, everything... shifted. It felt like my mind was jolted, and the scenery changed in an instant. Suddenly, I was surrounded by these huge buildings, all these bright lights, and these things you call cars. There were so many of them, and all these other strange vehicles too. It was... overwhelming."

Mt. Lady watched him carefully, her eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and sympathy. "Scary?" she asked gently. Naruto frowned, his pride flaring up. "Hah?! There's no way something like that could scare me!" he protested, crossing his arms. "It's just... weird. Like I don't belong here." She reached over and ruffled his spiky blond hair, her touch surprisingly gentle. "Well, well, don't worry," she said with a reassuring smile. "I'll help you figure out how to live here until we can figure out what happened to you." For a brief moment, Naruto's mind flashed to Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, and the rare moments of tenderness she had shown him. But he quickly shook off the thought, gently pushing her hand away. "It doesn't seem like there's that big of an age difference between us," he said, trying to sound casual. "Don't act like some grown-up."

Mt. Lady raised an eyebrow, amused. "But I am a grown-up," she replied. Naruto blinked. "Really? How old are you?" She smirked. "It's not polite to ask a woman her age like that. But I'm guessing you're around twelve?" Naruto puffed out his chest. "I'm thirteen!" he declared. She shrugged. "Same difference to me." She pulled out her phone, and Naruto stared at it with wide eyes, clearly fascinated. "Judging by the look on your face, I take it this is your first time seeing a phone too," she said, her tone teasing. Naruto frowned. "Not exactly. I saw people walking around with these things in the streets." Mt. Lady laughed. "Don't call them 'things' in front of people, or they'll think you're some kind of relic from an ancient era. Though, I guess that's kind of true in your case. You really might be from an older time."

Naruto repeated the word quietly, as if testing it out. "Phone..." he murmured. Mt. Lady nodded. "Yes, it's a phone." She dialed a number and held the device to her ear. A voice answered on the other end, sounding slightly surprised. "It's rare for you to call me. What's up?" Naruto's eyes widened as he heard the voice coming from the phone. Mt. Lady's expression remained calm as she spoke. "Director, I apologize for calling so late. Are you still at the academy?" The voice on the other end replied, "I just finished organizing my desk and was about to lock up and leave. Did something happen?" Mt. Lady glanced at Naruto. "I'm on my way to you now, and I have a guest with me." The director paused. "A guest? Someone I know?" She shook her head, even though he couldn't see her. "Not even I know him."

The director sighed. "I'll wait for you for a few minutes." Mt. Lady thanked him before ending the call. Naruto remained silent, his gaze fixed on the passing cityscape as the car left Tokyo and headed toward the city where the academy was located. When they arrived, Mt. Lady stepped out of the car, closing the door quietly behind her. The night sky was clear, dotted with stars and illuminated by the soft glow of the moon. A gentle breeze stirred her hair and Naruto's as they stood under the moonlight. Naruto looked up at the imposing structure of the academy, his expression a mix of awe and uncertainty. "It took longer to get here than I expected," Mt. Lady said, breaking the silence. "He's probably annoyed by now. Let's go, Naruto."

For a moment, Naruto stood still, his blue eyes taking in the grandeur of the academy. Then, with a determined nod, he followed Mt. Lady, his sandaled feet crunching against the gravel path as they made their way toward the entrance. The night was quiet, save for the sound of their footsteps and the distant rustle of leaves in the wind. The academy loomed ahead, its lights casting long shadows across the grounds. Naruto's heart pounded with a mix of anticipation and curiosity as he walked beside Mt. Lady, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
