Chapter 152: MHA – Heroes Rising Arc (5)

[Sunset, Nabu Island – Mount Shiroyama, Cave Area, Japan]

Managing to land on her feet, Slice quickly turned to return to the portal. But the portal was already closed as she cursed out loud, "Shit!! Those brats at UA set this up, but how did they know we – Ack!"

*Booom*

The Quirk Amplification Device around Slice's neck broke short, circuiting itself from Izuku [Armor Deku: Radio Jammer]. She grits her teeth as her eyes adjust to the dark cave she finds herself in an angry tone, "Damn it… I must get by Nine's side unless something happens to his condition."

*Tmp*

As she tries to escape the cave, she stops in place and sees Tokoyami waiting patiently, having [Dark Shadow] out in the open. Slice readied herself as he spoke seriously, eyeing her from above, "You must be one of the villains our Class Rep foresaw. The villain is known as Slice. Or, to be better known as Kiruka Hasaki."

*Shing*

Slices' eyes furrowed as she activated her Quirk [Slice]. Kiruka's Quirk allows them to move, harden, and sharpen her hair. She can use her hair as a blade and fire off individual strands of it like needles.

Kiruka can also use her hair for defensive purposes and mobility by using large locks of it as stilts. Her hair retains its chemical properties when modified and can be destroyed if it encounters harmful materials, such as acid.

Slice hardens and sharpens her hair, growling as Tokoyami speaks as [Dark Shadow] blends into the darkness of the cave, "I'll be frank. I'm giving you the chance to surrender here and now. If not, then don't blame me for what happens next."

*Pew*

*Pew*

Instead of answering, Slice launched individual strands of her hair at Tokoyami, refusing to surrender in a confident tone, "I surrender to a kid? Fat chance – Huh?"

*Splash*

Immediately, as she attacked, her hair was splashed with acid. Her eyes alarmed, she shifted her head away from Tokoyami to see Mina using her [Acid Control] with Toru. Slice had her whole hair dissolving but not melting her clothes, with Mina controlling her acid growling.

But Toru grinned as her body began to emit light as she said cheekily, "[Solar Flare]!"

*SHIIII*

A bright flash of light enveloped the cave as Slice's eyes were wide open. Tokoyami wore shades, as did Mina, as she screamed, rubbing her eyes being temporarily blinded, "Ahh!! You stupid brats – "

*SWOOOSH*

*BAM*

Without warning, Kendo appeared at her side, using her Quirk [Big Body], unleashing a massive punch to Slice's side, skidding her across the ground into a nearby wall. Stuck Slice began to regrow her hair as she tried to get out the fury in her voice, "Argh…!!! I'll get you snot nose – "

*BAM*

[Dark Shadow] figure swatted Slice while she was against the wall. There was a short rumble of the impact as Tokoyami closed his eyes, thinking to himself, 'There's no way she'll come out in action again after that. Not since our fearless leader unlocked my deepest of darkness within to wield and be one with [Dark Shadow]. My new Ultimate Move with the gene refinement… [Fallen Lord].'

Tokoyami revealed a sly grin over his beak. Before they practiced being Pro Heroes, Tokoyami agreed to finally have his Quirk [Dark Shadow] refined by his friend, a new ultimate move for himself as the figure of [Dark Shadow's] eyes opened, blending with the darkness of the cave provided.

[Fallen Lord]: A skill that grants the user the ability to blend in with the dark and gain full control of [Dark Shadow] power without going berserk in the process. It can be used in a room of darkness, making [Dark Shadow] blend in, becoming one with the darkness to manipulate or into his own body to use [Dark Shadow] power at its highest, fusing into his body.

Kendo checked Slice's condition as her eyes were blank, void of any life. Checking for a pulse, she gave a thumbs up to her group, putting on the Quirk Canceling Cuffs, "She's unconscious and alive. Great work, everyone!"

Everyone smiled as they managed to subdue Slice on their end. The remaining ones are Nine and Chimera…

[Sunset, Nabu Island – Mount Shiroyama, Lake Area, Japan]

Chimera lunged forward before he was dropped into a lake face-first. His eyes widened, looking above and seeing the portal close as he growled, thinking seriously, 'Shit! We got separated from Nine… he must have sent me to a lake, but where?'

Taking the time to observe his surroundings, he began to swim up, seeing the sun and the surface ahead of him. But before he could reach the surface….

*Buzzzz*

Electricity filled the water as Chimera's eyes widened, being electrocuted while in the water. The sudden electrical attack also made his Quirk Amplification Device short-circuited, being useless for him as he powered through to the surface of the lake.

*Splash*

Exiting out from the lake, growling anger showed in his eyes wiping away the water, getting a clearer vision, and growled in discontent, "Grrr… when I get my hands on you punks…!'

*Swooosh*

Immediately, his instincts kicked in thanks to his Quirk [Chimera]. Chojuro Kon, known as Chimera Quirk, grants him the characteristics of various animals. He can also enlarge his animal traits to monstrous proportions, granting him a tremendous boost in strength and durability.

Not only that, but it also grants him a sense of the characteristics of various animals within him, along with their instincts. Having his vision cleared up, one of his eyes saw a projectile rocket punch as he swayed his head to avoid the incoming attack.

The other saw a group of students all prepared for him as Todoroki slammed his foot on the ground, producing ice. The cackling of the ice being generated was heard rushing towards Chimera at a frightening pace.

*KRAKLE*

Quickly jumping up to avoid the incoming ice attack at him, Chimera began to click the Quirk Amplification Device. But realizing quickly, wasting a few seconds, that it wasn't working, the heroes took full advantage of it as Shinso said, "Tch. This freak of nature didn't die in the lake where he belongs."

Chimera has a deep hatred against society, having been ostracized for his animal-like appearance. Hearing this, Chimera responded to Shinso in a furious tone, "Why you bastard, how – "

*Thud*

Shinso smirked, using his [Brainwashing] Quirk with Chimera answering his question, causing him to sigh a breath of relief, "Whew… seems like the info that Power Ranger provided was enough to provoke the big guy."

Shoto nodded his head, sighing a breath of relief when Denki came out from his spot, remarking in a scared tone, "D-Dude, he took the electricity to the face being in the water and still came out packing heat. Talk about a scary guy."

Izuku Armor Deku's fist returned to place as he began to wrap up Chimera using a special material to restrain him in place, adding, "Yeah. With his quirk, we didn't consider that his animal instincts would avoid the attack. Fortunately for us, we made countermeasures when he was in his weakened state. Hopefully, this will stall him."

*Pew*

*Poof*

Restraining Chimera by nullifying chains made by Ren and throwing a few sleeping gases on him is specifically like Midnight's Quirk. Bakugo on the side growled out loud, having to not fight, "Tch. It would've been better to fight these villains than ambush them like a bunch of sissies…"

Kirishima nearby sighed, shaking his head as he said out loud, asking his group their next step, "Sigh… just be glad that we took care of them before they could do any harm to the people here. So, what's our next objective guys?"

Listening to Kirishima's words, Izuku activated his screen projecting as he explained the situation, "After Ren has taken care of Nine, we should report to the Pros what happened if not already. Hopefully – "

*RMBL*

*KABOOOOM*

A loud explosion of a thunderbolt was heard as all eyes darted towards the clouds at a distance away from Nabu Island. Izuku's expression shifted to concern as he finished his words worriedly, "– he has the situation handled. He wasn't kidding saying that villain could manipulate the weather… that's a serious godlike power…"

The students nodded as they began to take Chimera away once he was properly contained and restricted. All they could do now was hope that their Class Rep would pull through against the villain Nine…

[Nighttime, Sea – Near Nabu Island, Japan]

*KABOOOOM*

Avoiding the lightning bolt strike from the Nine Power Ranger prepared for battle. Avoiding a thunderbolt, Ren taunted Nine arrogantly, saying, "Ugh, I'm so bored! I can use vibration manipulation!"

*BAM*

*CRACK*

Slamming his fist on the air cracked as Ren used [New Order] to be able to use [Vibration Manipulation] to crack the air, creating a shockwave that ruptures in front of Nine. Nine, being on the defense, got flung, feeling the internal damage.

*BOOOOOM*

Before he can assess the damage, Ren hears lightning strikes and notices a stormy cloud begin to form above him. Nine rushes using tornadoes into the sky as he emerges from the clouds to speak with him impassively, "Your powers are impressive, but you lack discipline."

Ren scoffs at his claims and assumes a battle stance using [Float] in mid-air, "Ehe... I'm the Power Ranger? Protégé to All Might? You wanna see for yourself?"

Clenching his fist, Nine merely said arrogantly, looking down as clouds formed from behind, along with a rush of cold wind, "Of course, Power Ranger. I'll show you the difference of power between us."

*RMBL*

With his new opponent having accepted his challenge, Ren begins the battle by shooting blasts of air toward Nine by punching them, who avoids them and counters with his wind blasts.

*BOOOM*

Both air blasts collided, canceling each other out. Ren narrowly dodges them with [Instinct] and [Danger Sense] alerting him.

*Swooosh*

Using [Float] and [Attract and Repel], he began to shoot more air blasts at Nine. Nine flies away before he aims the next current to negate his momentum in the air.

*SWOOOSH*

Ren quickly propels himself off the sea surface to leap towards Nine, but Nine creates a strong wind current that sends him back to the sea. Ren falls quickly into the sea water by Nine's wind current using [Weather Manipulation].

*Splash*

As Ren recovers, Nine conjures up lightning and aims downwards, prompting him to run as his [Instinct] and [Danger Sense] flare to escape from the water as he thinks, '[Transmission: Low Gear]!'

*KABOOOM*

*KABOOOOM*

Activating his [Gearshift] Ultimate Move, he had a blue aura around him as he began to move more quickly. He dodges multiple lightning strikes as he says to himself using [New Order], "I can manipulate water!"

Ren, feeling a connection to the water, smirked. He raised his hand as he avoided Nine's lightning strikes as the water beneath him rose high into the air.

*SPLASH*

Ren lands on top of the created water pillar and begins to send some of it to the sky, allowing him to get closer to his opponent and attempt to direct a blast of water at his foe, surprising him. Nine eyes narrowed as he waved. He easily deflected the incoming water, but with a simple flick followed by strong wind currents.

*Woooosh*

Ren grinned confidently underneath his helmet with a simple flick, sending another jet stream of water that caught his leg and threw him into the ocean. A loud splash could be heard by how hard Nine was thrown into the sea.

*SPLASH*

Ren lands back on the ground level above the sea using [Float] and [Attract and Repel] to move forward. But his eyes narrowed, clicking his teeth in an annoyed tone, "Of course not… he won't go that easily, will he?"

*SPLASH*

An angered Nine emerges from the sea and creates a massive tornado that incorporates the water surrounding him, yelling, "AHHHHH!!!!"

Ren moves towards the tornado to get closer and narrowly dodges more attempted lightning strikes as he mutters childishly to taunt Nine, "Water, lightning, AND air? Starting to feel a little less special here..."

*WHIP*

Ren uses his energy tendrils from [Blackwhip] surrounding the eye of the storm to encase Nine in a binding. Nine is then caught within the binding as Ren dashes off and delivers a devastating kick that sends Nine into the sea as he yells, "Oi! Villains beware for I am fucking here!!!"

*BAM*

*SPLASH*

In the sea, Nine begins hearing several voices as multiple silhouettes pass him, leaving him overwhelmed. Recognizing it to be AFO, he says to him in a serious tone, 'Come on, Nine. Win, or else that ideal future you wish for dies here with you. To your comrade's dreams…. All to be snuffed out by some brat.'

Nine listening to the voices of AFO and then his comrades wishing for him to win. His eyes shot wide open, ignoring the pain as he thought in a determined tone, 'Gotta get up... Gotta get out... Slice, Chimera, Mummy… I won't let you down!'

*Click*

Something within Nine snapped. Something within his Quirk began to blossom, his eyes showing a new tinted color as he thought, 'Quirk…. Awakening…'

*SPLASH*

His strong will and determination allow him to push the sea away to let him see the way out. He forms a strong tornado that ends up catching the water from the sea Ren stands stunned as he mutters in a shocked tone, "Some of a… that motherfucker just had a Quirk Awakening?!"

*SWOOOOOSH*

Ren witnesses his opponent rise in the tornado of winds and fire and knows he is not facing an ordinary enemy as Nine's eyes blank but sparked electricity. Ren's eyes narrowed as he muttered seriously, "You're no mere villain. But I'm not a mere hero either. [One for All: 100%]!"

Ren's body glows as he enters the [One for All: 100%] state, showing his powerful blue aura and sparks of energy leaking out from his body. He then uses [Wormhole] to create portals traveling through them, propelling himself further with [Float] and [Gearshift] still active.

Upon doing multiple portal jumps, he slowly blurs into a stream of energy moving midair as the energy heads toward Nine. Doing this, Ren unintentionally unlocked a new skill with his [Wormhole] Quirk.

[Ding!]

[Due to using portals for successive jumping, a skill to dash using portals has been created!]

[Skill: [Portal Boost] is learned!]

Description: By activating [Wormhole] by rapidly forming portals successively in front of the user, the user can achieve a form of high-speed movement, appearing as little more than a stream of energy moving midair.

Ren uses his new move [Portal Boost] to propel himself in the air toward Nine. Nine attempts to redirect some of the tornadoes on him, but Ren can form a shield out of portals to redirect the tornadoes, allowing him to close in and deliver a devastating punch.

*SMASH*

Landing the punch full speed, Nine was sent flying away from Nabu Island as Ren followed suit using [Portal Boost]. Nine still sent flying Ren tried another move, opening multiple portals but then overlapped them, gaining a new skill once more.

[Ding!]

[Due to using portals to overlap each other, a skill to create an energy beam has been created!]

[Skill: [Portal Blast] is learned!]

Description: By activating [Wormhole] by overlapping two portals at once the user can create a powerful beam of spatial energy.

Nine manages to regain his bearings again, but just as he tries to get up, he notices Ren summoning multiple portals, all aimed at him. All of them began to overlap with each other, unleashing a series of energy beams all aimed at Nine…

Despite this, Nine can escape with his strong wind abilities that were greatly enhanced due to his Quirk Awakening. Nine waved his arms into the air as he announced in a prideful tone, gazing above Ren, "Witness the rise to your new overlord, fool!!! Witness as I bring the [Blizzard] to you!!!"

*SPLASH*

*RMBL*

Unleashing his awakened [Weather Manipulation] abilities, he used the cold air to freeze the sea, bringing forth a blizzard on Ren, taking on the harshness of nature itself. Nine mockingly looked down on him on a power high with his awakened Quirk.

Raising an arm up, Nine proclaimed, looking down on Ren with an arrogant expression, finally achieving his power, "Be prepared to be struck down and meet your judgment, Power Ranger! When I get your quirks, this world shall be changed for the better! [Divine Judgement]!!"

*RMBL*

Nine attempts to unleash lightning and ice on Ren, but he merely smirked, showing the [Blizzard] has broken his Hero Suit mask. It annoyed Nine to no end seeing his enemy be this arrogant to his might as he put his hand down.

*KABOOOOM*

Unleashing his [Divine Judgement] on Ren, he merely moves back, opening a portal with his [Wormhole] Quirk, avoiding the attack entirely. The super bolt of lightning struck missing its target, causing Nine to growl, annoyed.

*SWFFFFF*

*SWOOOOSH*

Ren roars using [Portal Boost], flying forward at full speed. He uses his speed to unleash a devastating combo that hits Nine upwards, sending him to the sky above.

*SMASH*

*SMASH*

*SMASH*

Keeping the combos up, relentlessly beating the living shit out of Nine, messing up his face with each mighty blow. But Nine's eyes glow and sparkle from electricity; Nine creates a massive lightning storm in the air that disrupts Ren's attack.

*RMBL*

*KABOOOOM*

Taking the hits stunned him briefly, seemingly taking a moment of weakness that Nine took the opportunity to retaliate as he spoke confidentially in his immediate victory, "I know what you are, boy…"

After enduring multiple strikes, Nine can catch one of the lightning bolts and tries to redirect it forward straight into Ren's exposed face. But Ren catches his hand with his left hand and negates the attacks as he says confidently, using [New Order], "I can control the very element of electricity!!!"

He then supercharges two fingers on his right hand and aims directly at Nine's head as he said with a sly grin, "Sayonara fuck face!!"

*BZZZZ*

Nine lets out one final agonizing scream as the electricity blows out and obliterates his brain. Ren grabs the deceased Nine's hand, restoring his body using [Transmutation] as he chuckles happily, "Hahaha… man. You're awakened Quirk is gonna be a good set for me and the EXP Boost. Let's modify that before copying it, shall we?"

As Ren began to use [Gene Refinement] on Nine's Quirk that was awakened, he immediately used [All in One] to permanently copy the perfected version of Nine's Quirk without the drawbacks.

Description: This was [Weather Manipulation], now refined as [Storm]. This skill allows users to sense, channel, shape, create, and manipulate the weather; they are granted complete control over the weather and natural disasters, i.e., the meteorological phenomena.

It grants them an innate connection to the Earth's atmosphere, enabling them to shape and influence various weather patterns on both small and large scales. They can sense changes in air pressure, temperature, humidity, and other meteorological parameters, granting them an almost instinctive understanding of impending weather changes.

There are five main factors/elements/aspects of Weather Manipulation that the user gains: [Air Manipulation], [Electricity Manipulation], [Thermal Manipulation], [Water Manipulation], and [Ice Manipulation].

They can exert control over a wide array of meteorological phenomena. This includes summoning rain showers or creating torrential downpours and manipulating the amount and intensity of precipitation.

They can also control the speed and direction of winds, ranging from gentle breezes to powerful gusts and even tornadoes. In addition, they can generate hailstorms, blizzards, or gentle snowfall, depending on their intentions. They can even summon lightning bolts and electrical storms, using them as both weapons and displays of power.

Ren smiles, content with what he got from the fight with Nine. He flies upwards as he carries away his lifeless adversary's body, ready to explain he died from his own Quirk breaking down on him as he made sure to leave evidence of such a conclusion and taking the Quirk Amplification Device into his [Sub-Space].
