MHA: A Villain's Leading Wish

Warmth enveloped his body, the hot sun above him was draining his energy endlessly. 

He felt a small hand lightly touch his shoulder.

Now, slowly opening his eyes widely, he could see the worried expression of a certain heterochromatic girl. 

Shinji looked around, 'Where are the other kids?' he wondered. 

Standing to his feet, he took in his surroundings. 

They were on a rooftop, 'How did we not get spotted?'

The girl held his right hand, a familiar sensation creeped up to his chest. 

He felt anxiousness coming from the girl, she was afraid of something. 

Shinji looked down to her eyes.

"Where are the other kids?" he questioned.

Struggling to hold eye contact and speak, all she could think of was opening her mouth and showing her tongue. 

It was cut in half, she couldn't speak. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't know." 

He could feel her quirk telling him that it was okay. 

Her quirk was weird, he only felt her emotions but could also understand what she was trying to communicate even though there were no words involved. 

She quickly followed by making him feel that the kids had left.

Worry was shown in his eyes but he soon calmed down. 

"Do you have someone to take care of you?" 

The girl shook her head in denial, flashes of her past entered his mind going through his vision. 

She was alone, moving all the time, she'd been born into a poor family that sold her because of the debts they couldn't pay in time. 

five months she's been in circulation like a product, they were preparing her to be eventually sold. 

Her tongue was cut in half because of her constant whining and screaming. 

Shinji hugged her tightly, though surprised, she did the same after a few seconds.

Without any notice, she started crying uncontrollably. Only pained sounds could be heard coming out of her mouth.

Thinking about what he was going to do with the girl, he thought about his sister. 

She was probably worried sick for him. 

For now, Shinji would take this girl to meet his sister and maybe stay at their house for a few days until they figured out what to do. 

He crouched down on the floor and gave his back to the girl. 

She immediately realized what was going on and sat on his back. 

Shinji carried the now smiling girl through the roofs until they reached the house.

When he knocked on the door, it opened a few seconds after. 

His sister came out looking at Shinji with a worried expression. 

"What happened to you!?" 

The dried blood on his face and body left many theories for the wild imagination of his sister. 

She looked as if she was going to say something, only stopping because of the head that poked out of her brother's back. 

Miki took the small girl into her hands and worriedly asked what happened. 

"Basically, yesterday I followed some leads that led me to a child trafficking place. Rescued the children there, but got hurt in the process."

"Oh my god, let me treat your wounds." 

Miki carefully carried the girl to the sofa and put on some cartoons before asking her to please wait there for a second. 

She ran to the bathroom and came out of it with a first aid kit which she used to treat Shinji's wounds. 

"You are being way too reckless, getting yourself in this situation without any sort of preparation."

"I know Miki, I promise that something like this will never happen again."

"Don't make promises you can't keep, in your line of work expect anything to happen at any moment, just be prepared."

"Will do, thanks."

Miki started treating his injuries more harshly. 

"Ouch, stop."

"Why is that girl with you? What happened to the other children?"

"I passed out at the end of the fight with the traffickers, I woke up atop a rooftop with all the children being gone except that girl."

Miki looked at the girl again, they were in the kitchen, the girl seemed to be enjoying the cartoons. 

"She's pretty cute, I can't believe there are people out there that actively harms children for profit or enjoyment."

"We need to find a place where she can stay," he responded. 

"Well, she can stay with us if she wants to. I'm going to ask her after I'm done treating you."

Shinji didn't oppose the idea, the glimpses of her past made him want to protect her at all costs. 

"Let me tell you something, she can't speak, her tongue is cut in half."

"Gasp!" Miki opened her mouth widely and looked at the little girl. 

She approached her in a hurry before kneeling down to her level and asking something with a soft voice.

"Excuse me, I know this is sudden but… do you want to live with us?" 

The girl opened her eyes widely and looked at Shinji with surprise. 

A warm feeling manifested in his chest. 

With this, he already knew the answer, a new member had joined his family.
