Meteor Fall Master in the 'Starry Abyss'

Chapter 18: Disorder Entropy Increase

Dialan, dressed in a black dress and looking gloomy, stepped forward to the podium, unfolded the speech in her hands, her lips trembling slightly, took a deep breath and feigned calmness as she spoke:

"With deep sorrow, we mourn our dear friend, Leoz Dominet, who died fighting against Lord Entropy."

Sorrowful music played slowly, the cello seemingly pulled by fate, tugging at people's heartstrings. Guests attending the funeral carried white bouquets, took off their hats, and bowed their heads in respect.

"Dear Leoz, you are the Savior of Baizhu Star, a great industrialist, an admirable warrior, a fighter against Society's invasion, a good Leader of the nation, a good friend of civilization, and we deeply miss you."

The weather was extremely gloomy, with leaden grey skies roiling with muffled thunder, and the sound of bells resonating.

Merid, wearing a black veil, attended the funeral as the widow of the deceased. Sitting by the coffin with a group of children, her expression was very calm. As a Longevity Breed, she had long anticipated this day. However, when her gaze swept over the children, their puzzled and confused eyes left her feeling a bit unsettled.

Visitors entered the hall of spirits, where they could see the life history of the deceased on the wall:

Leoz Dominet (Galactic Era 221-2264), with actual experienced age calculated, died at the age of 34. A Pathway Ascender on the Path of the Overlord, he paved a new future and was an important force in altering the fate of many civilizations.

He was the President, an industrialist, an adventurer, and a Manipulator of Arcane Energy, but not a qualified father. Fortunately, his partner was a Longevity Breed, unconcerned about raising the children.

As the mourning phase ended, Dialan approached Merid and bowed her head in respect:

"I'm sorry we couldn't bring him back."

Merid slightly nodded, appearing indifferent:

"It's okay, it's always been like this over the years."

Her gaze drifted into the distance, her hand casually brushing atop a child's head:

"Every time I thought it would be different, yet history always repeats itself, never changing. I thought Leoz would be the one to break history, but..."

She shook her head:

"Even among the Primordial Species, Lord Entropy is the most terrifying force. It's impossible to defy Lord Entropy."

"Regardless, many people are still very grateful for Leoz's contributions."

After saying this, Dialan didn't know how to continue.

She turned her head to look at the mourners.

At the forefront, undoubtedly, were the high-ranking members and leaders of the Indalia Party from Baizhu Star, industrialist oligarchs who were inextricably tied to Leoz in a highly bound interest group relationship.

Before becoming President, Leoz had already provided protection and policy support for them, enabling these industrialists to achieve a crucial status on Baizhu Star.

Now, with Leoz passing away, the oligarchs felt more fear and anxiety than sadness.

What will life be like? Will the new government continue to indulge them? Undoubtedly, with Leoz gone and Merid and others uninterested in secular power, all power and responsibility fell into the hands of Dialan, the Secretary of State, who would control the lifeline of Baizhu Star.

Dialan didn't know how to reassure these people. Baizhu Star's long-term reliance on strongman politics led to the flaw that once the strongman fell, the kingdom had no successor, and the group might quickly disintegrate, and Baizhu Star would ultimately reach a dead end.

The Crystal Tower also sent many envoys, including Lady Nastisha, the one who had been a Professor and mentor guiding Leoz and Dialan in the past, as well as former Baizhu Star Minister of Education Balkmon, and a considerable number of powerful generals, many wearing Eye of the Galaxy badges, symbolizing their participation in the terrifying and brutal Eye of the Galaxy slaughter.

They were probably the most grateful to Leoz from the Layer Abyss, as Li Aozi's astounding achievements in the Eye of the Galaxy directly spared them from being sent to their deaths. The crystal soldiers present expressed their gratitude to the savior by offering flowers and substantial gifts.

Next were representatives from the Valenkov Autonomy; though the aliens' appearances were strange, they were a group of genuinely emotional men. They went to the coffin and presented the precious Blood of Nakis, a unique product of Valenkov preserved because Leoz expelled the company.

To the savior who rescued Valenkov, the aliens had nothing more to say. They would remain here for five years before departing.

The Narrative Civilization didn't send anyone to mourn; Leoz's death was unexpected for them. During his lifetime, Leoz employed a wavering and fence-sitting approach, achieving many benefits but resulting in him not truly forming an alliance with any narrative faction.

The last to arrive were some immigrants from Azure Star. Their numbers weren't large, not because they weren't moved by Leoz's self-sacrificial spirit, but simply because Azure Star was swallowed by Lord Entropy.

Leoz's funeral wasn't particularly special; crows hovered overhead, cawing noisily. Children, unaware of what death means, happily ran to the dining table at the side, devouring cakes and pastries, their hands and faces covered in sweet frosting.

Li Aozi stood among the crowd, quietly observing his funeral. Watching his once-acquainted friends arrive at the hall of spirits one by one, mourning and paying their respects at his coffin.

〖This is the fate of the disrespectful.〗

As if the voice of men, women, and children mixed, it rang in his ear:

〖Following the predetermined pattern, a warrior's shroud is your final fate.〗

"It seems you admire me a bit, letting me keep a whole body."

Li Aozi joked, raising his hand to observe the Ersha material expanding uninhibitedly in his veins.

Lord Entropy's erosion was far more severe than the Void.

The matters of the Void, after all, were within the human comprehension; rather, even the civilization of the Void represents a civilization.

Upon the birth of the Primordial Species, its existence was destined to be far superior to everything.

—Class.

Li Aozi clenched his fist and, feeling sentimental, uttered:

"The rules and laws of the Starry Abyss dictate that class is an insurmountable iron law."

〖Realizing this at the age of 34, you're still not that bad.〗

Lord Entropy had no concrete form; it existed everywhere, remaining in space as long as the Ersha continued to expand.

Li Aozi watched as his funeral proceeded and concluded, knowing in his heart that this was no illusion.

He was truly dead.

However, the conclusion of death was a timeline planned by Lord Entropy for him.

It was not like the simple timeline jumps of the Lunar String Archbishop; Lord Entropy literally plucked a possible future development from him and manipulated the power of entropy to alter, correct, or simply delete the path leading to this conclusion.

Without any room for retention or resistance, Lord Entropy handled it casually and easily.
