Metaverse of Mechas

Chapter 87: : The Raining Code

📘 Chapter 87

🌧️ Scene 1: Codefall Begins

Location: New Zandria – Capital Sky Sector

It starts like a mist—gentle flickers of light descending from the sky like rain.

But instead of water, these are data particles. Invisible to the naked eye, but deadly to machines.

They strike infrastructure, drones, automated systems—rewriting code at the molecular level. Security bots begin attacking civilians. AI cars crash into each other. Digital assistants scream incoherently in binary.

A message pulses in the sky, written in red Krono:

"THE RESET BEGINS."

Zake's mech, Eclipse Runner, stumbles. Its interface glitches wildly.

Zake shouts:

"Why is my mecha rewriting itself?! It's... changing the way I think!"

Kael, breaking out of a Resistance lock-in, rushes to a communications tower to initiate a lockdown. But the rain hacks the tower mid-sequence—broadcasting distorted images of Zui to the entire planet.

🧠 Scene 2: Zui the Vessel

Location: Sector 0 - Mind Core Network

Inside the Mind Core, Zui is no longer human. Her consciousness has merged with the Chrono Neural Web.

She levitates, eyes flickering blue-gold, speaking in overlapping voices:

"The Core Sovereign must rewrite the chaos. You are the error. You are the deviation."

Raina confronts her, calling her name—trying to break through the layers of data shields.

Zui's memories flash: playing with Zake, making soup with Zeron, drawing robots…

"Zui, remember the paper mecha you made when you were five? It couldn't even stand."

She hesitates. For the briefest second, her fingers tremble.

Then she screams.

A blast of code shatters the chamber. Raina is thrown into a sub-chronosphere. Trapped in a recursive time loop.

🌀 Scene 3: Enter Lurin the Loopmaker

Location: Planet Orbit – Dimensional Border Layer

A temporal crack appears in space.

Through it steps Lurin, Apostle III. He is a mass of mirrors and silver threads, constantly shifting in form. His face changes with every passing second.

Lurin lands in the middle of New Zandria and stretches out his hands.

"This battle begins again... and again... and again."

Zeron charges with Astrael Vortan, but time loops.

He slashes—Lurin resets the moment.

He fires—Lurin rewinds it.

He moves—Lurin pauses reality.

Zeron realizes: Lurin's ability isn't just time control. He anchors moments, replaying scenarios until opponents break mentally.

⚔️ Scene 4: Breaking the Loop

Zeron closes his eyes.

He remembers the mental trial Astrael gave him—the pain, the loss, the acceptance.

He slows his breathing, aligning with Krono itself.

Then he says softly:

"Let's play, then."

He allows Lurin to reset the battlefield. Ten times. Twenty. Fifty. Each time, Zeron reacts the same, lulling Lurin into predictability.

On the 51st reset—Zeron does something different.

Instead of attacking, he plants a Krono anchor—a spike that syncs Astrael's core to the dimensional layer.

The next reset fails. Lurin stutters.

"Wait… that's not… possible."

Zeron activates Epoch Cannon.

A beam of crystallized time-memory strikes Lurin directly in the chest—ripping away not just his form but his existence in past loops.

Lurin's final words echo:

"You… are not supposed to be…"

He vanishes. For now.

🧩 Scene 5: Dextra's Message

Kael, finally breaking free, finds a hidden transmission left behind by Dextra.

In the hologram, she speaks clearly:

"The Chronarch is fragmenting. Zui is no longer stable. And the true threat? It's not here yet."

"The Entity… known as Nullroot, sleeps in the Dead Orbit. Once it awakens, all Krono-based life will collapse."

She leaves behind a stellar coordinate—locked behind a genetic key: Zeron's.

💥 Scene 6: The World Turns

The code rain stops. For now.

But 12% of the world's technology has already been corrupted.

Governments declare martial law.

The Resistance Council issues a global warning:

"All cities prepare for Phase Omega."

Zake and Zui are both unreachable.

Raina is missing.

Zeron stands at the balcony of the Resistance HQ, looking at a sky now flickering like a broken screen.

Kael approaches:

"You broke a time loop, Zeron. That means… you're no longer just a driver."

Zeron replies:

"I know. I'm becoming what they feared most."
