Chapter 54: : The Memory of a Brother
📘 Chapter 54
🧠 Scene 1: Extraction Attempt
The machine of extraction stood tall and ominous in the core of the rebel base. Its three limbs pulsed with blue Krono, each calibrated to reach into the erased void. Zeron stood in the center, holding a memory shard—the last trace of Zake embedded in a fragment of his broken ID chip.
Ivy's voice echoed in the comms: "Anchor to the emotional frequency. That's your key."
Zeron closed his eyes.
Pain. Guilt. Hope.
The shard responded.
Lights flared.
The room shimmered.
And then—a silhouette stepped out of the void.
Small. Confused.
Zake.
Or rather… a version of him.
He looked up at Zeron, eyes filled with tears.
"Big brother?"
🌀 Scene 2: Fractured Reality
But this wasn't the Zake he remembered.
This one had memories of a war that never happened. He spoke of a Zui who died during a tower collapse. Of a world where Zeron had perished in the first invasion wave.
"I held your hand when the Writer erased the sun," Zake said, trembling.
Zeron knelt.
"You're… not from here."
"No," Zake said. "But I remember you. All the versions of you."
The machine flickered. Ivy's voice cut in.
"He's not stable. His existence is bleeding through timelines. If he stays long… reality will crack."
But Zeron couldn't send him back.
Not yet.
⚔️ Scene 3: The New Dual Requiem
Elsewhere in Zone Delta, a class-5 Rewrite Beast broke through Earth's crust. It writhed like molten glass, warping the landscape with each step. Defense forces fell back.
Zui stepped onto the battlefield—eyes glowing in unison with her other self.
"Dual Requiem: Convergence Mode, online."
The mecha unfurled—wings of refracted light, dual-core stabilizers glowing purple and crimson.
"Emotion calibration: Rage and Hope… synced."
The beast lunged.
Zui moved first.
With a slash of combined memory-lance and temporal blade, she cut through the beast's heart—a moment that hadn't happened yet but now would always have.
The crowd watching cheered.
And Zui whispered, "Thank you, sister."
📜 Scene 4: Fragments of a Forgotten Rebellion
Ivy, alone in the Guild archives, uncovered a buried vault.
Inside were journals—each one belonging to a deleted rebel cell known as The Inkless.
They had once fought the Writer.
And lost.
But one phrase repeated in all logs:
"The only way to win is to be unwritten willingly. Only the forgotten can rewrite the world."
Among the pages was a photo.
A young woman with striking silver eyes.
Yurein Vael.
Zeron's mother… as a commander of The Inkless.
🧥 Scene 5: The Writer's First Step
The Writer arrived on Earth.
Not crashing. Not attacking.
Just walking.
Each step he took bent logic.
A tree would vanish, replaced by a streetlight.
Clouds would become text strings in the sky:
"The forest wept for the world not yet born."
Civilians panicked.
Reality distorted in a mile-wide radius.
And with him came the Pagebound—creatures made of story scraps, memories, and rejected timelines. They screamed like children and laughed like machines.
The Writer turned to face Zake.
His voice rippled:
"You're not real."
Zeron stepped in front of Zake, shielding him.
"Neither are your rules."
🌀 Scene 6: Shatterpoint
The Machine of Extraction exploded in light as Zake collapsed. His body couldn't hold its presence here.
"You were always the best brother," Zake said, fading.
"Even in worlds where I didn't exist."
Tears streaked down Zeron's face as he held him.
Ivy ran diagnostics, trying to pull Zake back—but it was too late.
The version of Zake winked out.
But something remained:
A core.
Not technological. Not organic.
A Krono Flame, shaped like a memory.
Zeron grasped it—and felt something unlock.
His Krono surged for the first time.
Color: Violet-Grey.
Stage One: Echo Awakening.
