Chapter 24: : Funeral and Fire
📘 Chapter 24
⚰️ Scene 1: The City of Ashes
Three days had passed.
Nexaris was no longer a city. It was a shadow of itself—a mass grave of twisted steel and charred memories.
Skyscrapers had become tombstones. Streets turned to memorial grounds. Every corner bore candles, offerings, and names scratched into metal.
The Spiral Gate had vanished, but the wound remained.
And in the center, a quiet ceremony took place.
A funeral.
The dead could not be buried—they had no bodies. But the names were read aloud, one by one, by synthetic voices powered by the last reserve of the city's AI core.
Zui stood in front, wearing a white exo-veil.
She clutched a photo of their parents.
Her voice cracked only once.
"Zeron is still alive… So I'll keep standing."
The crowd clapped softly—half in mourning, half in hope.
But behind them, drones continued scanning the skies. Because peace had become a myth.
🛌 Scene 2: Zeron's Awakening
In a hidden underground bunker, Zeron gasped awake.
He sat up, his chest burning, his arms limp, mind fogged.
A mechanical voice greeted him.
"Vitals critical. Mental sync: 62%. Neural integrity: compromised."
Zeron blinked.
"Titan…?"
"Titan-Omega has entered regeneration stasis. You must rest."
But Zeron didn't listen.
He climbed out of the pod.
His reflection in the glass startled him.
His eyes were no longer brown.
They were shifting—between black and flickers of deep violet.
🧬 Scene 3: The Data Minari Stole
In an old communications chamber beneath the ruins, Minari returned.
She met Zui alone.
"You shouldn't be here," Zui said coldly.
"I know. But I have something."
Minari handed her a crystalline shard—pulsing with Spiral code.
"This was in the World-Eater's neural data. It wasn't just attacking randomly. It was following a command line."
Zui raised a brow.
"From who?"
"Not who," Minari replied, voice trembling. "From what."
"There's another… deeper Spiral code. One older than Lyra. Older than the species themselves."
She pulled up a hologram—a symbol appeared: a perfect triangle with a pulsating circle at its core.
Zui gasped.
"That's not Spiral code. That's... Divine Mech Script."
The language of the Axiom Deity.
👑 Scene 4: Lyra's Descent
Lyra stood alone inside the dormant Spiral Sanctuary.
Her Spiral eyes stared at the symbol Minari had just shown Zui—etched into the final core of the World-Eater.
"Axiom... you knew this was coming."
She gritted her teeth.
"I thought I could use Spiral as a weapon. But I was wrong."
From the depths of the sanctuary, a voice echoed.
"You tried to cage chaos."
"Now chaos will demand tribute."
A fragment of Axiom appeared—not in Zeron's vision, but in Lyra's.
This one was different.
Darker.
Corrupted.
"The Axiom you know is only one face. I am the other. Axiom Prime."
Lyra stepped back, Spiral runes flaring.
"I won't let you consume this world."
Axiom Prime extended a tendril of logic-code.
"But you already have."
⚙️ Scene 5: Zeron and Zake Reunite
Zeron finally made his way through the bunker's halls and found Zake.
His little brother sat on a pile of broken parts, repairing a drone.
His face lit up when he saw Zeron.
"Bro... You look like you've been kissed by a lightning god."
Zeron laughed—hoarse but real.
"Feels like I lost a fight to one."
Zake stood.
No words for a moment—just a long, tight hug.
Then Zake said softly,
"There's a second World-Eater."
Zeron's smile faded.
"Where?"
"Western Void. Reports just came in."
"But this one's different. It's... singing."
🕯️ Scene 6: The Funeral Ends with Fire
As the final name was read aloud in the city square, candles glowed in silence.
Then, suddenly, a black flame erupted from the base of the memorial.
Panic surged. People scattered.
Zui stepped forward, hand raised.
"Shield the square! Spiral barriers, now!"
But the fire wasn't attacking.
It formed a symbol in the air—the same triangle and circle.
And a voice, deep and ancient, echoed across every Krono device:
"You were warned."
"You chose power over balance."
"Now... the Harvest begins."
