Merslin 3: The Shatterborn Oath

Chapter 14: 14. Beacon of Light – Counterattack of the Magic Corps

The battle between Luminaria and the Etherions had reached its peak in the heart of the battlefield. Although Etherion's psionic assault had inflicted severe damage, pushing Luminaria's forces to the brink, under Merslin's command, the magic corps was preparing a powerful counterattack.

"Now is the time for our magic to truly shine," Merslin declared with resolute determination.

Luminaria's healers began casting restorative magic across the field. They channeled their arcane strength to heal the wounded and restore their vitality through a powerful spell known as the Beacon of Light. A radiant glow spread across the battlefield, wrapping the soldiers in bands of luminous energy like sacred light from the heavens.

"O beacon of light, grant our warriors your strength!" the healers chanted, pouring their power into the field.

As the beacon surged, Luminaria's soldiers began to recover at astonishing speed. Wounds closed, exhaustion lifted, and the warriors found the strength to rise once more. The brilliance before their eyes rekindled their will to fight.

"There's still hope! We can stand again!" they shouted, rallying each other under the healing glow.

But the Etherions did not remain idle. Although their shields had temporarily faltered under an earlier EMP blast, they had begun to recover. As the protective barriers regenerated, Etherion soldiers readied themselves for a renewed offensive.

Kaillok, ever observant, sensed the shift. He realized Luminaria's healing magic was turning the tide—and acted.

"Our shields are back. It's time to crush them again. All forces, attack at full strength!" he commanded.

With renewed confidence and active energy barriers, the Etherion forces unleashed a fierce assault. Their weapons roared with deadly precision, and the air once again became a storm of energy and force.

"Etherion's shields are back online—stay sharp!" Lisa warned, urging her troops to move with caution.

Realizing the severity of the situation, Luminaria's mages quickly reinforced their own protective wards to counter the incoming barrage. Simultaneously, their offensive casters began to weave spells designed to tear through the Etherion barriers.

"Bring down their shields. Unleash all of our magic!" Merslin commanded.

Luminaria's mages unleashed a torrent of destructive spells—flames, lightning, frost, and stone converged into a colossal explosion, hammering against the Etherion defenses. All the while, the healers intensified the beacon's light, ensuring their allies could endure the chaos and keep fighting.

"We will fight to the very end—for Luminaria!" Merslin shouted.

The battlefield once again erupted into a ferocious clash. Both sides tested the limits of their strength, throwing everything into this decisive conflict. With magic blazing and unwavering will, the defenders of Luminaria stood their ground against the Etherions. The outcome remained uncertain, but one thing was clear—Luminaria's guardians would not yield.

Episode: Magic of the Void – Merslin's Korean Incantation

Amid the fierce battle between Luminaria and the Etherions, Merslin stood at the heart of the battlefield, his mind made up. He knew the time had come to unleash his most powerful spell—a forbidden magic spoken in the ancient Korean tongue. The Etherions' impenetrable psionic shields posed a grave threat to Luminaria's forces, and Merslin resolved to break them with a force older than language itself.

Standing resolute in the center of the field, Merslin began chanting with unwavering force:

"Darker than darkness… By the power that devours all light… I command you—Void, consume them!"

The very air trembled at his voice. The magic of the Void surged across the battlefield, its presence immediate and undeniable. This was no ordinary spell—it was a primal force summoned from the depths of darkness, one that devoured everything in its path.

At first, the Etherion soldiers couldn't comprehend what they were facing. But soon, they felt its full power. Despite their hardened bodies and scientifically engineered shields, Merslin's void magic tore through their defenses and struck them in terrifying, unfamiliar ways.

Some were lifted into the air by invisible force, then hurled back to the ground with devastating impact. Their shields failed to protect them, and their bodies were critically injured. Others were overwhelmed by psychic disorientation or assaulted by unseen blows that bypassed all logic.

"They're falling! This magic… it's bypassing our shields!" cried one Etherion soldier in desperation.

The spell moved like a living entity, striking unpredictably, breaking down both body and mind. Even Etherion's formidable psionic powers crumbled before the might of the Void.

"They're breaking us… This magic is beyond anything we imagined!" panic swept through the Etherion ranks.

The battlefield descended into chaos. Etherion's formations began to collapse. Merslin seized the moment and called out to his forces:

"Now's our chance! All units—push forward and drive them out!"

At his command, Luminaria's warriors surged ahead. The mage corps, capitalizing on the confusion wrought by the void magic, unleashed a barrage of powerful spells. From the hills, soldiers equipped with weapons crafted by Kim Yeong-min provided suppressive fire, piercing through Etherion defenses and striking down their troops.

Though Etherion had suffered a massive blow, they still retained enough strength to fight. Their forces responded with intensified psionic assaults and unleashed devastating psionic storms. The mental onslaught disoriented Luminaria's troops, while the storms swept across the battlefield with violent destruction.

But Luminaria's mages stood their ground. The healers channeled the Beacon of Light with even greater intensity, healing the wounded and renewing their resolve. The soldiers, fueled by the power of both light and void, pledged to fight to the bitter end.

"We will not surrender! We will win this war!" Merslin roared, unleashing a second wave of void magic with renewed conviction.

The battlefield raged on in uncontrollable chaos, spiraling toward a final confrontation. The fate of Luminaria and the Etherions now hung in the balance—on the edge of victory or annihilation.

The battlefield burned ever hotter amid the growing chaos. Etherion's colossal ground weapon, the Behemoth, pressed mercilessly against Luminaria's defenses. Cloaked in impenetrable psionic fields, the mechanical monstrosity repelled both magic and steel—a towering symbol of fear.

Faced with this dire threat, Merslin and his companions made a bold choice: they would invoke the legendary dance of Sella—The Dance That Could Not Be Stopped.

Though Sella was a figure of ancient legend, her dance had been passed down as a secret technique—mastered through years of training by Merslin's group. More than movement, it was a conduit for ancient magic, channeling mystical energy through body and soul. It shattered shields, pierced minds, and overwhelmed the body in unison.

"Now is the time," Merslin said, his voice resolute. "Together, we'll be unstoppable. No psionic force can resist us when we move as one."

One by one, they met each other's gaze—Merslin, Elena, Lisa, Serena, and Aria—and silently reaffirmed their resolve. They stepped onto the center of the field, under the watchful eyes of Etherion soldiers and the looming Behemoth.

And then, they began to dance.

Their movements started as ripples, then grew into waves—waves of magic drawn from the depths of legend. It wasn't mere choreography. It was their hearts, their spirits, united in rhythm and spellwork.

As their steps grew sharper, the very air around them trembled. Etherion soldiers faltered at the sheer force of the aura radiating from the dance.

"They're… dancing? No… this is no ordinary dance!" cried Kylok, watching in horror as his soldiers fell—one after another—under its invisible influence.

The Etherions tried to resist with concentrated psionic barriers, but the combined force of Sella's dance was absolute. Their minds began to unravel. The Behemoth's defense matrix flickered, then faltered.

"We can't stop it… this dance is breaking everything!" an Etherion commander shouted in despair.

The Behemoth shook violently, its massive frame losing cohesion. Psionic interference surged, but it was no match for the overwhelming force that surged through Merslin and his allies.

With each beat, the magic intensified. As they reached the final sequence of The Dance That Could Not Be Stopped, they focused all the gathered energy toward their enemies. The Behemoth quaked. Etherion soldiers stumbled in psychic disarray, lifted into the air or struck down by the invisible force. And then—collapse.

When silence finally fell over the battlefield, Merslin and his companions stood still, breathless. The dance had ended.

The enemies lay in defeat, disarmed not by brute strength but by something older, deeper—unrelenting will and harmony. The Behemoth no longer roared. The Etherions, stunned and broken, scattered in confusion.

"We did it," Merslin exhaled.

Elena and the others nodded in solemn triumph. The war wasn't over—but in this moment, they had won. Sella's legacy had shone once more, and in their unity, they had found a strength capable of defying even the greatest terror.

This victory marked more than a turning point—it rekindled belief. That no matter how monstrous the enemy, they could still overcome, together.
