Merchant From Earth in the Magical World

Chapter 133 Railgun_1

Yan Xing led his team, continuing to slowly follow the Werewolf Shaman.

He was not in a hurry to capture the assassin. The play had to be performed in full. He wanted those who harbored ill intentions against him to truly believe he was protected by the Thunderous Swamp. In the future, if they dared to scheme against anyone, they would first have to consider the consequences.

He methodically searched the sealed-off city districts, street by street.

During this time, Yan Xing secretly informed Hibel of the locations of the assassin's two accomplices. Hibel then ordered her family's spies to monitor them.

By now, news of the assassination attempt on Yan Xing had spread throughout the entire city. The word that Yan Xing was personally leading a team to capture the assassin also reached the ears of the influential figures within Nuta City.

Would an assassination attempt on Yan Xing truly incur the curse of the Thunderous Swamp? Could the Werewolf Shaman really find the cursed assassin? A veil of mystery shrouded the hunt.

Everyone wanted to know if the curse of the Thunderous Swamp was real. They also wondered if Yan Xing could truly locate the assassin who had tried to murder Priest Temple using this curse. The eyes of the entire city were once again fixed on Yan Xing.

At one point, Yan Xing paused before a civilian residence. He covertly used his communication device to give orders to the three Werewolves acting as shamans.

The three Werewolves immediately halted, pointed at the house, and declared, "The curse is inside."

Yan Xing waved his hand, commanding the troops he had brought, "Surround it!"

The accompanying Knights and Armsmen instantly drew their weapons and encircled the residence.

In a short time, the glow of defense magic flared brightly. Heavily armored infantrymen raised their magic-augmented heavy shields, forming a barrier before the house's door. Knight heroes at the rear chanted spells, their hands brimming with Magic Power, ready to unleash offensive magic at any moment.

Hibel, mounted beside Yan Xing, kept her gaze fixed on the main door, wary of arrows being loosed from within. The assassin was a formidable Archer and had to be handled with care.

Everyone assumed their battle positions, prepared to storm the residence at a moment's notice.

Hibel asked Yan Xing, "If you're certain the assassin is inside, you can order the Knights to charge."

Yan Xing replied, "She shot me twice; I have to return the favor. I'll handle breaking down the door. You all handle the charge. Make it quick and decisive. Try not to cause too much damage."

"As you wish..." Hibel said. If the assassin is truly inside, under such a siege, even the most skilled would have no hope of escape. Yan Xing just wants to smash a door to vent his anger after the assassination attempt. Let him.

Yan Xing retrieved several steel balls, the kind used for slingshots, and held them in his hand.

In his mind, he asked Chui Chui, "The Railgun you've been developing for me... you said you had results. Can I use it now?"

Knowing his specialty lay in Air Magic Elementals and their lightning-based transformations, Yan Xing's first thought had been of a powerful weapon like the Railgun. He had ordered Chui Chui to develop it, even having her download *A Certain Scientific Railgun* for inspiration.

At this moment, Chui Chui was already dressed as the titular Railgun character.

"Reporting, Master! Railgun 1.0 version is complete. However, with your current Magic Power, you cannot unleash its full potential. I will do my utmost to optimize Railgun 1.0 and develop more advanced versions, enabling greater power output with less Magic Power consumption."

Hearing that the Railgun magic was usable, Yan Xing extended his arm towards the wooden door of the residence before him.

He then asked Chui Chui, "Smashing this door should be no problem, right?"

"Report, Master! No problem, Master! Chui Chui is very confident in the magic she developed!"

"Then let me see the power of this Railgun," Yan Xing remarked.

"At your command! Railgun 1.0 initiating, energy convergence commencing..."

Air Magic Elementals gathered on Yan Xing's outstretched arm, displaying lightning attributes as they formed a magnetic field under Chui Chui's precise control. Then, layers of differently sized magic circles unfurled before Yan Xing's arm. The circular centers of these formations combined to form the Railgun's magnetic field acceleration barrel. Even denser magnetic coils materialized in front of his arm. The congregation of electrical-attribute Magic Elementals generated intense air pressure, creating a cyclone around Yan Xing.

"Master… the Railgun is fully charged! Inject the electrical energy, and the Railgun can be fired."

At this moment, Yan Xing could feel that charging the Railgun had consumed a vast amount of his Magic Power. Now, this Magic Power had transformed into potent electrical energy, concentrated on his arm. He could also see excess sparks arcing from it. With a command to attack, this electrical energy would instantly surge into the Railgun's magical framework, creating an incredibly strong, directional acceleration field.

How powerful will this shot be? Yan Xing wondered. Should be a bit more powerful than a shotgun, I suppose.

"Fire the Railgun!"

Yan Xing issued the command and opened his hand. The magnetic field generated by his arm propelled all the steel balls he held into the electromagnetic acceleration track before him. The electrical energy swirling around his arm was simultaneously injected into the electromagnetic track.

A powerful, directional acceleration magnetic field was generated, and the steel balls began to accelerate.

At that very instant, an arrow pierced the wooden door of the residence, flying straight towards Yan Xing. Clearly, the assassin knew she was trapped and was making a desperate, last-ditch attempt to kill him.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion erupted.

All the steel balls completed their acceleration in an incredibly short span of time. The extreme acceleration generated immense air pressure. As the projectiles shot out, the shockwave from the air pressure burst forth, shattering the Railgun's magical framework. The shockwave expanded outwards, knocking the nearby armored soldiers to the ground.

The power of Yan Xing's magic surpassed everyone's expectations, including his own.

In front of him, in the Railgun's firing path, the arrow that had been shot towards him vanished without a trace. The door of the residence was also gone, leaving only a massive gap. Looking through it, one could see an even larger hole punched through the wall beyond. Further in, the stone house of the neighbors had also been blasted through.

After the Railgun fired, dust choked the air. An eerie silence fell over the surroundings.

Hibel stared, dumbfounded, at the devastation. After a moment, she said to Yan Xing, "Didn't you say you were just going to smash the door?"

Yan Xing awkwardly lowered his hand and said, "I did intend to just smash the door. But I couldn't quite control the power of this new magic I've just learned; it ended up a bit too strong."

That was more than 'a bit too strong'! And the Magic Power Yan Xing just released clearly shouldn't have been enough for such destruction. How did he do it? Hibel looked at the series of holes Yan Xing had blasted through the walls, at a loss for words.

She could only order the Knights, "Charge in and capture them!"

Soon, the Knights dragged a severely injured person from the house.

She was still wearing the gray cloak she had acquired in the market, its large hood obscuring her face. The cloak was caked with dust and blood, and numerous splinters from the shattered wooden door were embedded in it. Her left hand and left foot were gone, blood flowing freely from the severed stumps. Supported by two Knights, she stood weakly on her one remaining leg.

Hibel had the Knights remove the assassin's hood.

Upon seeing the assassin's face, many onlookers gasped in surprise.

An Elf… she was an Elf!

This was Yan Xing's first encounter with an Elf from this Magic World.

She had emerald-green hair, its color as pleasing to the eye as tender spring buds. Her hair had been styled into a fluffy bun to hide her pointed ears. But when the Knights roughly pulled off her hood, her hair tumbled down, revealing her distinctively pointed Elven ears.

The Elf was strikingly beautiful. Even though her face was marred by wounds and blood trickled continuously from the corner of her mouth, she exuded a tragic, melancholic beauty.
