Chapter 105: Chapter 105: What? Lancelot Is Missing?
The Lion King closed her eyes again. There was no rush. When her strength returned, she would bring divine punishment to all those who opposed her.
Her Knights remained silent. The Lion King now carried a majesty far beyond what they had known.
Elsewhere, the smoke and dust from the clash of Noble Phantasms had begun to settle. Scattered across the ground were the silver armors of the Knights of Justice, broken and abandoned. Though some might still be raiding the surrounding countryside, the town itself had been preserved—at least for now.
Above, the sky was clear and blue, save for the lingering halo from the impact. It might have been a beautiful sight... were it not a symbol of divine warfare.
Gareth stood shakily, blood still trickling from her wounds. Using her spear as support, she smiled at Aslan.
"Thank you, Sir Aslan. I've heard your name from Brother Gawain."
Aslan blinked, rifling through memories. Gawain wasn't exactly a close friend—more of a rival. But he could imagine it: Gawain grumbling, arms crossed—
"I won't lose next time!"
Gareth chuckled softly. "Yes... he said exactly that."
Her smile dimmed, tears forming in her eyes. "You're much gentler than Brother Gawain said."
Aslan rubbed his chin. Truth be told, he was older now—he couldn't help but look at these young knights like grandchildren. When they made mistakes, he wanted to guide them. When they failed despite giving their all, he wanted to comfort them.
Even Artoria... the next time he saw her, he'd probably treat her more like a daughter than a sister.
He glanced toward the horizon, where holy white light shimmered faintly. New Camelot. The Round Table Realm built atop Jerusalem. His mission was to destroy it.
Would Chaldea arrive in this timeline? No way to know. For now, he had to act.
First, he would rendezvous with Hassan and the others in the eastern mountains. If they could strike before the Lion King fully recovered, they might win in a single battle. If not, it would become a long war.
As for Ozymandias in the desert...
Aslan doubted his own charm could persuade the Pharaoh. And if that golden tyrant had arrived at all, why hadn't the Sphinx shown up? He'd crossed the desert completely and seen no sign of it.
"Anyway," he said aloud, "let's get inside and regroup. The king won't launch another spear strike anytime soon. Melusine will clear the rest of the Knights nearby. Once you're stable, Gareth, I'd like you to share everything you know about this world."
Helping her up, Aslan switched to the Spear of Destiny. Its regenerative power quickly closed her wounds. It wasn't as fast as his Distant Avalon, but that weapon was already bound.
Melusine, meanwhile, efficiently wiped out the remaining Knights of Justice. Their discarded silver armors were collected and brought to Aslan. Using the language of the fae, he would reinforce them—turning them into protection for the ordinary soldiers of the resistance.
After all, they couldn't rely on Heroic Spirits alone to storm a holy city.
Gareth shared what she knew. Though she had resolved to oppose the Lion King, she hadn't yet connected with other rebels. And oddly enough, there were no signs of Egyptian forces in the desert.
Had they simply not arrived? Or was this timeline's singularity different?
As for Xuanzang Sanzang... there was no word. In the original singularity, she remained unaffiliated until Chaldea's arrival. That might still be the case here.
Aslan took stock of their position. Step one: make contact with any resistance factions. Then strike at the Lion King while she was still recovering.
Meanwhile, not far away, a young man in navy-blue armor, wielding a red bow and flashing a bright smile, looked toward the distant light. Beside him stood a figure in a skull mask—an assassin.
The board was set. The pieces were in motion.
And war was only beginning.
