Chapter : Prologue
The Moon Goddess's voice dripped with a haunting solemnity, her words weaving a shroud of eternal despair. "Your transgressions have sealed your fate. The one you covet, the one who haunts your every waking moment, shall forever remain an unattainable dream. With each rebirth, the weight of your memories will crush you, a relentless torment that echoes through eternity. You will relive the agony of your longing, only to be met with the same crushing defeat, forever bound to the cycle of your own private hell."
Snow's laughter was a cold, mirthless sound, sending shivers down the spine. "You jest! I'll find her, claim her, and make her mine, no matter the cost. In every lifetime, I'll hunt her down, driven by a hunger that cannot be satiated. And when I finally possess her, I'll make sure she never forgets the eternity of torment that I've endured to make her mine." His eyes burned with an unholy intensity, illuminating the darkness that lurked within.
The goddess's gaze fell upon him, her eyes burning with a celestial fury. "You dare to mock the fate that has been laid upon you?" she whispered, her voice like the rustling of dry leaves. "Very well, mortal. May your hunger consume you, may your obsession drive you to madness. But know this: with each rebirth, your soul will grow darker, your heart heavier. And when you finally lay eyes on the one you seek, you will realize that your love has become a poison, a corrupting influence that will destroy everything you hold dear."
His laughter exploded in the darkness, "Hahahaha! What do you know about fate?" He taunted, his voice dripping with disdain. "A goddess, suspended in a state of eternal limbo, neither living nor dead. What could you possibly know of the mortal experience, of the blood that pulses through my veins, of the fire that burns within my soul?"
His eyes flashed with defiance, his voice taking on a deadly tone. "I am the master of my own fate, the captain of my own soul. You may have delusions of omnipotence, but I will not be bound by your decrees. I will forge my own path, I will shape my own destiny, and I will ensure that you are forced to bear witness to my every victory."
A cold smile spread across his face, his eyes glinting with a malevolent light. "And when I have achieved ultimate triumph, I will offer my gratitude to a deity who is worthy of worship, one who does not hide behind empty threats and feeble curses, one who is impartial. You will be forgotten, a relic of a bygone era, while I will be the one who is revered."
"We shall see, mortal," the Moon Goddess replied, her voice dripping with an otherworldly chill, as if the very fabric of fate itself was being woven into her words.
