MATED TO THE SECRET ALPHA

Chapter 16: Eastern Border

Eastern border~

Standing atop the hill, Reana, in her majestic white wolf form, gazed out upon the chaotic landscape before her. Her piercing eyes scanned the battle-scarred terrain, her heart heavy with concern.

The eastern border was the weakest point in their territory, thanks to the plain terrain. This was where rogues and monsters likely focused their attacks, which explained the heavy concentration of patrolling warriors in the area.

Yet, as she surveyed the battlefield, her heart ached for her besieged warriors, who were struggling to hold their ground. Many lay sprawled on the blood-soaked earth, injured or slain, victims of the relentless onslaught by the enemy's most fearsome warrior; a hulking brown wolf. Its brute strength was awe-inspiring, yet terrifying. With a single swipe of its massive paws, it sent Reana's warriors flying, or tore them asunder with its razor-sharp claws. That monstrous beast was the greatest threat on the battlefield.

Everywhere she turned, she saw the lifeless bodies of her warriors, forced back into their human forms in death. Others lay nearby, their bodies battered and broken, yet still clinging to hope that reinforcements would arrive in time to save them.

Reana could sense their fear, their desperation, and their anguish, as the weight of their suffering threatened to crush her. The air was heavy with the stench of blood and death, and the cries of the wounded echoed through the chaos, tearing at her heart.

The rogues had never assembled in such staggering numbers — thousands, if she wasn't mistaken. Led by that gigantic brute, their sheer force was overwhelming, too much for Reana's less than two hundred warriors to handle.

Behind her, Reana could hear the thunderous pounding of wolves, their paws almost tearing the earth as they sped towards the battlefield. Those were the reinforcements she had sent for on her way here, the reason she had held back from joining the battle until now.

"Ahh-wooo!!!"

Reana unleashed a mighty howl, the sound carrying far and wide across the battlefield, a cry that made both parties freeze in their tracks. Taken aback by the sudden interruption, they looked up in her direction, giving the battered warriors of the Black Moon Pack a brief respite.

The gigantic brute locked eyes with Reana, its gaze burning with feral intensity. It snarled and made incessant, animalistic grunts and groans, as if to say it had been waiting for her all along. The air seemed to vibrate with tension as the two enemies sized each other up.

"Awul!!!"

"Awul!!"

Numerous howls sounded from behind her, growing louder and more fierce. The reinforcements couldn't keep up with Reana's incredible speed and had finally arriving. Gamma Kira led the charge, her voice rising above the rest as she howled with a fierce battle cry.

The Black Moon Pack warriors on the battleground, seeing that their leader had arrived with reinforcements, felt a surge of adrenaline course through their veins. They let out collective howls, their voices echoing across the landscape as they boosted their own morale and prepared to turn the tide of the battle.

Reana descended down the hill, her paws barely touching the ground as she flowed like a ghostly apparition towards the battlefield. Simultaneously, she mind-linked the warriors, her commands echoing through their minds with crystal clarity. 'Spread out and encircle the enemies,' she ordered, her mental voice firm and decisive. 'Trap them in a tight circle, and crush them. Leave the leader to me.'

In a beautifully coordinated manner, the warriors spread out as they rushed down the hill, fanning out in all directions like a perfectly choreographed dance. Their pattern confused the rogues, who were unsure what the warriors intended to do.

The rogues hesitated, momentarily taken aback by the sudden display of tactical prowess. They had never faced a foe who fought with such precision and coordination before, and their usual chaotic tactics seemed woefully inadequate in the face of this new threat.

Before the rogues could fully comprehend the sudden turn of events, the Black Moon Pack warriors had expertly encircled them, forming a tight, impenetrable ring. But unlike the rogues, who were prone to reckless, chaotic attacks, Reana's warriors held their ground, waiting patiently for Reana's order.

Even those who had been engaged in fierce battles mere moments before had managed to pull themselves away from the battle and rejoin their comrades, forming a united, formidable front. The air was electric with anticipation, the warriors' eyes fixed intently on their prey.

Reana, as the leader of her pack, stepped forward with deliberate calm, her eyes locked in a fierce stare with the enormous brown wolf. Her mind racing with strategic calculations, she assessed the beast's formidable strength, searching for the most effective way to take it down quickly and efficiently.

She knew she wasn't a match for the wolf's brute power, but she couldn't back down – not when her pack's survival hung in the balance. The weight of responsibility settled heavy on her shoulders; if she failed, her pack members would be slaughtered.

As if sensing Reana's thoughts, the huge beast unleashed a thunderous howl, its cry almost deafening. The sound sent shivers down Reana's spine, making her hackles raise. The ground seemed to vibrate beneath her paws, and for an instant, she felt a primal fear clawing at her heart. But she stood firm, her resolve unshakeable, as she steeled herself for the battle ahead.

In a burst of fury, the beast charged straight at Reana, its massive paws pounding the earth with tremendous force, sending shockwaves through the ground and dust flying. Reana stood firm, her eyes locked onto the incoming beast.

The air was charged with tension, heavy with the weight of conflicting emotions from both sides; joy and smugness from the rogues who believed that Reana would be destroyed. Fear, desperation, expectations, and hope radiating from the Black Moon Pack warriors, and Reana's own unwavering determination. The moment hung suspended, like the quiet before a storm.

Reana could feel the weight of her pack's eyes upon her, their faith and trust in her evident in their calm and steady demeanor. They believed in her, and she was determined not to let them down.

As the beast momentarily left its group exposed, Reana seized the opportunity, issuing a swift command to her warriors through the mindlink. 'Attack!' she ordered, her mental voice crisp and decisive.

"Awul!!"
