Chapter 3: Chapter 2 Ying Sun Leads the Way_1
Ocean-east-green swiftly nodded, then let out a few gentle cries.
His elegant eyebrows furrowed slightly, as he peered at Ocean-east-green with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, making the bird involuntarily want to flee. Sadly, countless painful experiences had taught him that flight was futile. If he attempted to escape, his fate would only be worse.
Thus.
He tilted his head appeasingly and gently nuzzled the maiden's shoulder, as if to placate her, or perhaps to plead for mercy.
Anyone witnessing this would have marveled, and perhaps been moved, for they had never seen such a clever and seemingly human-like Ocean-east-green before.
In two words, he could be described as crafty.
A light laugh escaped her lips, "Although I feel pity for you, your midnight snack has been cancelled." Under the seemingly resentful gaze of Ocean-east-green, she continued unfazed, her face as radiant as ever. "Almost falling prey to a leopard and needing someone else's help to survive, don't you think you deserve to be punished?"
She counter-questioned.
Unhappily cooing, Ocean-east-green didn't cry out anymore, simply mourning his delicious midnight snack that never made it to his beak.
She seemed a touch exasperated at Ocean-east-green's current thoughts.
It is said that the most handsome amongst eagles is known as Ocean-east-green. Still, in front of her, this gluttonous one didn't appear handsome at all, except for its stunningly feathery coat contrasting black and white.
"Go on, find out what they're here for. If they're here for medical help, lead them here." The maiden spoke dispassionately, her words as cool, "If they're just lost, guide them out." Consider it repayment for their rescuing her companion.
If these people, who had helped her friend, truly sought medical aid, then she would save their lives as a token of gratitude. But if not, she wouldn't like them to disturb her here.
Quite frankly, she didn't feel like seeing anyone that day.
Despite such thoughts, she was pretty sure the visitors were here for medical assistance. After all, given the day, time, and weather, it was unlikely they were here just for a walk, unless they were fools.
Her eyes reflecting her complex emotions in their mysterious depths.
So many years have passed, Master, Linlin still struggles to get used to life without you.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Quickly returning to the original spot.
"How is it?" Did you encounter any danger out there?
As soon as he sees the two men, someone asked immediately.
Black Shark shook his head, "No problem, it was just a leopard and an Ocean-east-green fighting." Such instances are common in a forest like this.
Although, such a beautiful Ocean-east-green is certainly rare.
Black Shark felt something off about the way the Ocean-east-green had looked at him before flying away. Bathed in the light, it seemed particularly striking.
It felt like it was assessing him.
However, Black Shark soon dismissed this idea. After all, despite being intelligent, the Ocean-east-green was just an animal.
On hearing Black Shark's words, Xigua, standing nearby, got inexplicably excited, "What do you mean, no problem? You guys didn't see how dangerous it was. Those two were incredibly powerful. Even I wouldn't beat them in a fair fight." Of course, that's excluding the use of guns.
After all, no matter how fast the opponents are, how can they be faster than bullets? Like that leopard just now.
Pausing for a moment, Xigua continued, "But you wouldn't believe it. Black Shark, who usually minds his business, shot and saved that Ocean-east-green."
As soon as the words fell, the others looked at Black Shark, their eyes filled with curiosity. Meanwhile, Black Shark just gave a cold glance back at his comrades before turning around again, "Let's go." After these two words, he fell silent. For Black Shark, finding the elusive Poison Doctor to save their captain was a priority.
The group exchanged a look, falling silent as they moved towards the direction from which Black Shark and his companion had come.
They must cross that area as quickly as possible. Even though it was raining, the scent of blood in a dense forest like Black Forest was extremely dangerous; it came not only from the leopard but also from their captain.
If it weren't for the rain washing away the air's smell of blood, their journey wouldn't have been so calm.
However, as soon as they crossed the area, an eagle's cry suddenly rang out.
Alert, all eyes were on the direction of the sound as the eagle's cry came closer and eventually manifested into an elegant figure alternating between black and white, appearing before their eyes. Even in an unsuitable setting, the majestic figure in the rain evoked admiration. No wonder Black Shark couldn't resist saving him.
Intuition told the comrades that the Ocean-east-green saved by Black Shark was definitely the one before them.
But!
The team felt a sense of unease. Why did the Ocean-east-green return? Was it planning to hunt them? If this were the case, saving it was a serious mistake on Black Shark's part.
Given their current combat strength, a fight with the Ocean-east-green would indeed be difficult.
Instinctively, everyone clenched their guns round their waist, their eyes as sharp as a wolf's.
However, to their surprise, this Ocean-east-green merely circled in front of them then flew towards a certain direction, landed, turned back, let out a long cry, and quietly waited.
Their brows furrowed.
"Black Shark, do you think it wants to take us somewhere?" Xigua suddenly asked.
"Maybe," Black Shark responded indifferently.
Perhaps, it knew their mission, too.
"Follow it. Let's go."
