Master Bai! This Celestial Fox Spirit Is Asking For Divorce

Chapter 333: Episode 31.4 Confronting Mo Zhu

The air temperature inside the room suddenly rose. Thick layers of sweat drenched the backs of the poor waitress.

An S-class awakener releasing this much mana was an effective method of intimidation. The weaker people around them may experience shortness of breath, mental distress and increased heartbeat as a response to the concentration of mana that is beyond their limit.

It worked much like alphas used their pheromones when trying to intimidate. But unlike pheromones, this method wasn't bound by secondary sex. Anyone could wield it, as long as they were S-class awakeners.

In Shen Yuan's exceptional mana control, this turned into a subtle yet effective way of torture.

"This is... I want a lawyer—" Dai Li choked out, her voice strained.

But Shen Yuan cut her off with a single, deliberate line.

"We can arrange that," he said smoothly, his voice sliding into her fraying thoughts like silk over thorns, "but it would void my offer."

There was a quiet intensity in his tone, as though he were toying with her resolve, testing just how much she could endure before breaking.

"Tell me what you know now, and I won't press charges."

Shen Yuan leaned towards her and spoke in a hushed, spine-chilling tone. "I don't think you understand your current predicament here. Aside from illegal drug charges, you have aggravated sexual assault dangling over your head. That is a minimum of five years in prison."

"You are a graduating university student with unlimited future in dungeon management. I hate to ruin that for you; that is why I am giving you this chance."

Every word coming from Shen Yuan was dripping with poisoned honey. It may sound like it came from compassion, but it was just a disguise to corner her and make her confess.

Shen Yuan was using this cunning method because the CCTV failed to capture the decisive moment that would prove Dai Li's guilt. However, he noticed something in the video—a slight distortion that was not supposed to appear in untouched footage.

It was either edited, or Dai Li used an ability in that moment to put the drug without anyone seeing or detecting.

"What is it going to be, Dai Li?" He asked.

The waitress was already devoid of colour when she finally opened her mouth and said what she knew.

Chairman Mao, who is watching from a surveillance room, almost had a heart attack when he heard the truth. Shit! So messy! What will happen now?

"Good morning, Master Shen—"

"Your boss?"

"He is inside his office. May I know what you need from him?"

Mo Zhu heard a noise coming from outside his office. He was about to stand up from the work she was doing when the door suddenly flew open.

"You are here. What do you—" Mo Zhu went to meet Shen Yuan halfway when suddenly...

Pak!

"AHHH!" Mo Zhu let out a dramatic wail, convinced his soul had just been slapped out of his body. Shen Yuan's welcome came in the form of a thunderous smack across the face—so powerful, Mo Zhu was pretty sure even his ancestors felt it. Every hair on his body stood at attention, like they were saluting the pain.

What the hell?!

Did I miss a memo? Why is my face suddenly public enemy number one?!

Shen Yuan, calm as ever, glanced at him and muttered like it was no big deal, "Stop crying. If I were really mad, you'd be picking your teeth off the floor."

Only then did he feel the moisture forming in the corner of his eyes. He didn't realise he was tearing up! What the hell? What on earth is going on?!

"If you are not mad, then why did you slap me? Out of nowhere, Shen Yuan! Is this your new form of saying hi?" Mo Zhu asked, his cracking voice raised a few octaves.

"So, are we pretending that you and your mother did not do anything?" Shen Yuan pointedly asked Mo Zhu. Still, Mo Zhu maintained his confusion, and it instantly got into Shen Yuan's nerves.

"You and your mum sent a D-class awakener whose power can only bend light to sneakily spike my tea!" Shen Yuan said, emphasizing every word as if he were spelling them out letter by letter. "Damn, your mum even promised to hire the poor working student into your guild once she does as she instructed."

"Now tell me. Are you happy now that you saw me forcibly go into heat cycle, huh?" Shen Yuan stepped forward and nudged Mo Zhu's chest. "Feeling fulfilled that you put me in quite a spot during the banquet? I hope that you guys could sleep well knowing that I was not able to perform my 100% when the Cardinals attacked."

The corner of Mo Zhu's eyes turned bright red. These are heavy accusations, but upon hearing the reason, he steeled himself to accept it all.

The drug in question came from him, but his guilt does not just stop there.

He was aware of his mother's plan and lacked the resolve to dissuade her from pursuing it. He is as culpable as the mastermind.

Accepting Shen Yuan's harsh words is the least he could do to take accountability for his mother's actions.

Mo Zhu lowered his head, "My mother made a mistake, but that does not mean she deliberately did it to benefit the Cardinals. We are all remorseful about the fact that the Cardinals got away."

Shen Yuan clapped slowly, mockery dripping from every beat. "Damn right she should've. If she hadn't blacked out after falling for Bruno Rivera's mind control, we would've crushed the Cardinals and prevented them from escaping."

He folded his arms, and his eyes were sharp on Mo Zhu. "But you must be mistaken. I'm not here to point fingers. That's a waste of time when we're neck-deep in problems thanks to the Cardinals."

"I am only here for one question."

His voice dropped, razor-sharp.

"You drugged and humiliated me—are you really that desperate to steal my husband?" Shen Yuan cracked his knuckles, ready to either punch or grab Mo Zhu by the hair.

Wide-eyed, Mo Zhu tried to deny, "Shen Yuan, I already decided to move on from Brother Tingfeng. I am no longer interested in stealing him from you because I realized that if he were even interested in me, he would have noticed me way before you came back."

Shen Yuan huffed and rolled his eyes. That is a bit hard to believe, but okay. Let's pretend that monkeys are capable of computer programming!

"Oh? That is great. Then, care to tell me about the motivation behind this sneak attack?"

Mo Zhu couldn't answer. Her mother had always been a fiercely competitive woman—someone who despised being challenged or losing control of a situation.

To her, Shen Yuan was a living reminder of failure. His unshakable confidence, especially as an omega, embodied everything she couldn't stand.

Mo Zhu does not feel good explaining this, so he just pursed his lips. Guilt was very evident on his face.

Shen Yuan snorted. Forget about explanation. He did not expect this docile reaction. He was expecting something messy from this brat. It dampened his desire for violence, so he decided to take a step back— or not.

Pak! The sly fox spirit caught Mo Zhu in surprise for another head-splitting slap! They are guilty of spiking his drink! Things could easily become worse for him if he were not an S-class awakener!

Mo Zhu deserved at least two slaps for endangering him!

"Well, whatever. Tell your mother that I am waiting for her recovery. I am interested in doing a duel against her to settle everything for once and for all." Shen Yuan's eyes turned daggers, and his jaws tightened. "I will tolerate no excuse from her."

He worked hard, restraining himself from hurting people indirectly involved. If he could not even strike the face of that damned Mo Lihua, that will sully the honor of a nine-tailed celestial fox spirit like him!

Shen Yuan turned his back but stopped and looked back. One-sided slapping was one thing, but he forgot to be petty. That deserved a look back from him.

"Oh, I forgot to add. Say my thanks to your mom. I had the best sex thanks to the drug. This is what I meant when I said I am not that angry."

"My hole is still sore. Her supposed son-in-law did not hold back and rammed his ten-inch cock inside me." Shen Yuan made a dreamy sigh. "Speaking of, you might want to remind her about my man. The duel was my retaliation, but that does not mean things end there for my husband. His dream son-in-law was keen to retaliate in his own way. Last I heard, he is cutting business with your family's guild."

Shen Yuan clicked his tongue.

"You've just ignited a war that never had to happen."

Shen Yuan finally continued his way out. He threw an unconcerned glance at the shocked secretary before he left Mo Zhu's office, his hips swaying sassily.

Mo Zhu plopped down on the floor. He only has himself and his swollen cheeks to share the grief.

Problems! Problems!

He and his mother made a huge mistake this time! They lost a lot in pursuit of something fickle like a man's heart.

No word can express his regrets.
