Marvel’s Shadowed Knight

Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Peter Parker

"Is that so?" Venom smiled.

Peter Parker assumed his attack stance, his gaze fixed seriously on Venom.

"Yes. Although I don't know what kind of deal you made with Mysterio, or who you've found to be your new host, rest assured, I'll make sure both of you end up in prison."

Peter Parker spoke with confidence.

"Then I guess I'll have to eat you!" Venom lunged at Peter Parker.

The symbiote-formed claws left deep marks on the wall. If those claws caught anyone, the result would undoubtedly be gruesome.

As Venom attacked, both Miles and Peter Parker dodged simultaneously, leaving Venom no opportunity to strike.

However, Venom knew that fighting both of them alone wouldn't yield any advantage.

He was particularly furious at his two allies.

Neither of them was reliable.

They were taken down by someone who didn't even seem to be a superhuman.

What should have been impossible had unfolded right before his eyes.

All because of that unexpected intruder.

Venom launched his attacks at the two Spider-Men.

While they evaded, Venom charged toward the Bat standing nearby.

Bruce simply shot a grappling hook, effortlessly evading the attack, watching Venom quietly from above.

"Wow, when did you debut? Why haven't I seen you before?" Peter Parker was visibly surprised by Bruce's appearance.

The outfit seemed oddly familiar to him.

Before he left his own world, a movie studio had announced a film about Batman and Superman.

Although the concept sounded strange, it had piqued Peter's curiosity.

But why would someone dress like a bat to fight crime?

After all, wasn't he just an ordinary person?

"What should I call you? Batman, or something else? You should at least give me a name to call you by." Peter Parker addressed Bruce, clearly interested in his identity.

Or perhaps more interested in a hero like him.

But Bruce had no intention of responding.

He had already realized that the best way to deal with Spider-Men was to stay silent and let them handle things themselves.

"Alright, looks like you're the quiet type." Peter Parker stopped probing. He was curious, but there would be time for that later.

"So, let's take this guy down." Peter Parker sprang into action, swinging towards Venom with his web.

The priority now was to subdue him completely.

"You've clearly changed skins. I know you can transform at will, but I don't know if my methods will work on you now." Peter Parker kicked Venom away while searching for a position to execute his plan.

His sonic attacks needed something to amplify them in this environment.

Other methods wouldn't work here.

"You can't afford to be distracted!" Venom's regeneration was faster than Peter anticipated.

He lunged at Peter Parker again.

But Miles intercepted him, buying Peter time to set up his plan.

"I don't know if you're my clone or what, but I can sense you're like me... and you're doing the right thing." Peter Parker didn't turn around but his words delighted Miles.

Miles had countless questions for Peter, wanting him to know who he was and understand the responsibility he was trying to bear.

But now, words weren't possible.

Venom resumed his attack.

"Bro, you need some rest—those dark circles under your eyes are too heavy." Miles taunted Venom.

But Venom showed no reaction, opening his massive jaws to bite Miles' head off.

"Whoa!"

Miles cried out, dodging just in time.

At that moment, Peter Parker finally found a device to emit sound.

He inserted his gadget, blasting deafening heavy metal music through the bank's speakers.

But nothing happened. Venom remained firmly attached to his host, showing no signs of weakening.

Peter was baffled. He distinctly remembered defeating Venom before using the same method. Why wasn't it working now?

Symbiotes weren't supposed to resist sound attacks.

"Did this thing evolve?"

Peter was at a loss.

Meanwhile, the heavy metal music tortured Miles.

Peter's chosen track was the kind only die-hard metal fans would enjoy—everyone else would call it pure noise.

As Peter puzzled over the situation, Bruce approached him.

"He needs your help. Go assist him. I'll handle the rest." Bruce issued his instruction without hesitation.

Peter instinctively trusted the Bat, despite not knowing where he came from.

"I really did beat one of these symbiotes before... I don't know why it's not working today." Peter explained as he left.

Bruce ignored him, pulling out the USB stick and silencing the dreadful music.

"Alright... I know my music isn't great."

Peter returned to the fight, using his web to snare one of Venom's legs and hurling him into the wall.

The impact shattered the wall, burying Venom beneath the rubble.

Helping the dazed Miles to his feet, Peter apologized.

"Sorry, I thought my method would work."

"So you're really Spider-Man?" Miles didn't blame Peter at all.

"I think I am... but probably not from your world." Even Peter, no matter how slow, could sense the differences between this world and his own.

A Venom unlike his old enemy, and a Spider-Man who might be his clone—this world was undeniably different.

Here's the translated text with proper grammar while preserving the original meaning and flow:

The most fundamental difference was that in this universe, the abbreviation for the New York Police Department wasn't "N.Y.P.D" but rather "P.D.N.Y."

While Peter Parker was searching for a device to play heavy metal music, he happened to catch a glimpse of the abbreviation on a police car outside.

Peter Parker was certain that the New York police wouldn't casually change their abbreviation. Especially for someone like him, who interacted with them almost daily—if there were any major changes, he would be one of the first to know.

However, what surprised Peter Parker even more was that Mysterio had actually managed to create a device capable of crossing dimensions rather than just using illusionary tricks.

"When I first saw you, I really thought you were the Spider-Man from our universe returning." Miles said this with a hint of emotion.

Peter Parker wanted to continue chatting with Miles, but the noise coming from Venom forced him to shift his attention.

At that moment, Venom was pushing away the rubble covering him.

His black exterior remained completely unscathed. Most likely, his host had already been fully healed by the symbiote the moment his bones were broken.

"It looks like if I want to understand this world, the first thing I need to do is take this guy down." Peter Parker once again assumed a battle-ready stance.

"So, have you fought this guy before?"

Peter Parker asked Miles, considering that as this universe's Spider-Man, he should have some combat experience.

Miles responded with an awkward expression.

"Actually... I've only had my Spider powers for less than three months."

Hearing this, Peter Parker couldn't help but admire Miles.

When he first encountered Venom, he at least had some experience dealing with these kinds of enemies. But now, it seemed that Miles was nothing more than a complete rookie.

"So, we don't really have any way to counter him, do we? And you don't even know his weaknesses." Peter Parker could already sense how troublesome this fight was going to be.

Miles nodded.

"All right, got it." Peter Parker realized that his only option was to approach this fight as if it were his first encounter with a symbiote.

Although he knew that his usual attacks might not be very effective, there weren't many other choices right now.

"He's afraid of electricity—strong electric currents."

Bruce's voice suddenly rang in Miles and Peter Parker's ears, making both of them jump in surprise.

If they remembered correctly, Bruce was too far away from them to speak so calmly.

If he really wanted them to hear him, he would have had to shout.

However, Miles had a good idea of what Bruce had done.

Peter Parker hesitantly asked Miles whether that bat-like guy had superpowers.

"I think he probably planted some kind of communication device on us," Miles speculated, knowing Bruce's methods. He must have placed it on them without them noticing.

Peter Parker wanted to complain, but Venom's voice interrupted him.

"Why? Why are all of you so eager to worship those spiders?"

Venom's deranged voice made it clear that he wasn't in good condition.

Or rather, the symbiote inside him had likely gone too long without feeding and was now preparing to consume its host.

But in front of him stood two incredibly appetizing Spider-Men, making it impossible for either the symbiote or its host to simply let go.

"So, what should we do now?"

Peter Parker didn't care about anything else at the moment—he simply asked Bruce for guidance.

The top priority was to completely neutralize Venom, and if possible, to eliminate this kind of creature from existence in this universe.

"Do you see that exposed cable over there, revealed by your battle damage?"

Following Bruce's words, Peter Parker and Miles naturally noticed the exposed electrical cable, but it was still intact.

"In a moment, I'll overload the electrical grid. All you need to do is lure him there."

As Bruce spoke, he was already manipulating the surrounding power supply, channeling it toward this location.

"And if you want to save the host, I suggest you stay extremely focused and pull him out of the symbiote's body."

"I think you heard what he said." Peter Parker turned to look at Miles.

"Then let's get started."

With a quick shot of his web, Miles closed the distance between himself and Venom in an instant.

He delivered a powerful kick straight to Venom's jaw, but the attack only made Venom stagger slightly.

However, for the Spider-Men, that was more than enough.

Peter Parker quickly caught up to Miles, but instead of attacking Venom's upper body, he aimed directly at his lower leg.

Of course, Venom wouldn't be taken down so easily. With a tendril of symbiotic goo, he yanked himself away from the two Spider-Men's attacks.

But the Spider-Men wouldn't let him escape so easily.

Almost simultaneously, they shot out their webs, keeping up with Venom as he tried to retreat.

In midair, they battled fiercely—Spider-Men swinging with their webs while Venom countered with his symbiote tendrils.

But the Spider-Men hadn't forgotten their original goal: leading Venom toward the exposed power cable.

Perhaps because Venom was too fixated on devouring the two Spider-Men, even though something felt off, he stubbornly continued to chase them.

Just as the two Spider-Men gracefully leaped over the exposed cable, Venom attempted to follow—only for a Batarang to suddenly strike him.

Bruce's timing was impeccable. Right at the moment when Venom's momentum was shifting, he interrupted his movement.

The Batarang released a surge of electricity, making Venom momentarily lose control over both himself and his host, causing him to plummet.

As soon as he threw the first Batarang, Bruce launched a second one, cutting the cable below.

The moment Venom hit the severed cable, Bruce pressed a button in his hand, directing all the surrounding electricity straight into the bank.

Instantly, the entire bank's electrical system overloaded, with appliances sparking and emitting black smoke.

At the same time, Venom, having just come into contact with the cable, immediately realized he was in trouble—but there was nothing he could do.

He could only watch helplessly as he crashed onto the exposed wiring.

The instant the electricity surged through him, Venom's symbiotic exterior began peeling away like a burnt husk, separating from its host.

Quickly reacting, Peter Parker shot out his web and yanked the host away just before he could make full contact with the electrified cable.

But that didn't mean Peter Parker was going to let him go—he immediately wrapped the host tightly in webbing, ensuring he couldn't escape.

"Not bad, kid." Peter Parker praised Miles.

Even though Miles had only been Spider-Man for a short time, his reactions and technique were already impressive.

At this moment, Batman fired his grappling hook and slowly descended in front of the two Spider-Men.

"Wow, dude. If I didn't already know I was in a real alternate universe, I'd think you just stepped out of a comic book."

Peter Parker knocked lightly on Bruce's armored shoulder and was even tempted to touch the bat emblem on his chest.

"I think we should have a proper conversation about why you're here."

Bruce swatted Peter Parker's hand away without hesitation.

"You're right."

Peter Parker nodded. This was, after all, a real alternate universe. But it wasn't his home—he would eventually have to go back.

A loud roar came from outside.

The Batwing's spotlight shone through the window Bruce had previously shattered.

"Whoa!!"

Peter Parker couldn't cont

what kind of person he was dealing with anymore.

"I assume you can keep up." Bruce said to Peter Parker before turning to Miles. "And you still have two essays to write tonight."

Hearing this, Miles froze.

He had completely forgotten about that.
