"Draco, he performed much better than you did last year."

At the second-year section of the Slytherin long table, a short-haired young witch teased the blonde boy sitting opposite her.

The boy's expression immediately turned sour.

"What's he? Just a mere half-blood. Let me tell you, this year I'm going to be the Seeker for the team and win the House Cup for Slytherin!"

Last year, the Bloody Baron had sat next to him, scaring him half to death and becoming a major blot on his life.

"Draco, are you really joining the team?"

The news of Draco joining the team immediately captured the attention of the young wizards.

Quidditch was a sport that few wizards disliked; the annual Quidditch matches were also the most eagerly anticipated events.

"Of course. My skills are much better than that idiot Potter's. He just got lucky."

Malfoy said smugly.

In reality, his father had sold quite a few items in Knockturn Alley, then used that money to equip the entire Slytherin Quidditch team with the latest Nimbus 2001s, which created this opportunity.

As the feast was nearing its end, Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall returned.

Dumbledore spoke a few words of caution, then concluded the welcoming feast with a collective singing of the school song.

"First years! Follow me."

At this point, the fifth-year prefects at the four long tables almost simultaneously stood up.

And the first-year students of the four Houses also rose and followed their respective prefects, heading to their dormitories.

Leaving the Great Hall and arriving in the Entrance Hall on the first floor, the four Houses began to separate.

The young wizards of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw ascended the marble staircase to the upper levels of the castle, while the young wizards of Slytherin and Hufflepuff descended to the castle's dungeons.

Slytherin's dormitories were even further down than Hufflepuff's.

"Let me tell you, among the school's four dormitories, ours in Slytherin is the best, because you can directly see the underwater world of the Black Lake and the magical creatures living in it from your dorms and common room!"

The fifth-year prefect walking ahead, seeing the Slytherin first-years looking a bit uneasy due to the dungeon's cold and darkness, immediately puffed out his chest and proudly began to describe their dorms.

Upon hearing that they could see magical creatures in the Black Lake from their dorms, the young wizards instantly looked delighted.

They had, after all, been deeply impressed by the giant squid that had rescued someone when they crossed the Black Lake earlier.

"Pure-blood!"

Reaching a wall at the end of the dungeon, the prefect loudly called out a password. The wall immediately split open, revealing a large room bathed in green light—the Slytherin Common Room.

"The Common Room password changes every two weeks. The new password will be posted on the notice board."

The prefect explained as he led the young wizards into the common room.

At this moment, the young wizards' attention was completely captivated by the sight inside the common room.

The opulent decorations, exquisitely carved furniture, and the beautiful Black Lake view visible through the transparent glass immediately dispelled the gloom of the dungeon.

Most magically, there was a medieval tapestry hanging, depicting various famous adventures undertaken by Slytherins throughout history, as if watching a grand movie where the protagonists would occasionally greet and interact with you.

"Look, a mermaid! A mermaid just swam past!"

"Alright, you'll see these often in the future, no need to be too surprised.

Now, I suggest you all go to your respective dormitories and get settled. Boys are on the left, girls on the right. Your names are posted on your dormitory doors. Occupy the beds according to your names."

The prefect waved his hand with satisfaction, gave a few final instructions, and then left.

"It's like living in an aquarium!"

George surveyed the common room. He didn't linger to explore it with the other young wizards but turned and walked towards the boys' dormitory.

He quickly found his name on a dormitory door. Next to his name were three other names, meaning he had three roommates.

"Baron Ballantine, Evie Thorne, Cezar Burke. Doesn't seem like any famous families."

He glanced at them dismissively and pushed the door open, entering the dormitory.

Like the common room, the dormitory also had many transparent windows through which one could clearly see the bottom of the lake outside.

"Looks like you weren't left hungry."

On the bedside table closest to the door, George saw Page happily feasting in his cage. Evidently, the house-elves responsible for transporting luggage hadn't neglected the young wizards' pets and had also prepared a sumptuous dinner.

Hoot-hoot!

Noticing George, Page happily responded with a hoot, then continued to bury his head in his food.

After briefly tidying his luggage, George sat on the soft bed and began to read his magic book.

In truth, his diligent study of magic wasn't just to improve his strength for self-preservation; it was also because he genuinely loved magic.

To think that something that existed only in illusions in his past life had truly appeared before him, and he could even wield this wondrous power—how could he not be captivated?

Honestly, in all those years in his past life, nothing had ever enthralled him so much.

If his body didn't absolutely require sufficient sleep to learn magic better, he might even forgo sleep entirely, researching and studying this magical power twenty-four hours a day.

Sometimes he had the thought that perhaps this current life was truly the life he desired.

Rather than commuting like a robot every day, wearing a mask to socialize with bosses, colleagues, and clients, then slowly aging and becoming a pile of ashes buried by descendants in a graveyard.

When he recalled his past life, there was nothing worth lingering over.

"That lowly mermaid dared to scare me through the glass! When I learn powerful dark magic, I'll make her truly feel my power."

"Of course, we are the most noble wizards, pure-bloods! We are destined to become prominent figures in the wizarding world."

About half an hour later, three young wizards chattered as they entered the dormitory.

When they saw George and the massive Page beside him, they were startled. Even they rarely saw an owl as large as Page; their pet owls were only slightly larger than their palms.

"Hey, kid, are you Zhi Qiao?"

"Call me George, or Jo."

George replied without looking up.

The three exchanged glances. One of them, who seemed the most robust, puffed out his chest and said:

"I like your bed. You take your luggage and move to the innermost bed now."

The fathers of these three all worked at the Ministry of Magic. They had known each other since childhood. Upon discovering that the last occupant of the dormitory was a half-blood who had made a slight impression at the feast, they decided to come in and teach him a lesson.

So, they didn't genuinely like George's bed; they merely wanted to intimidate George, to make him understand that they were the protagonists in this dormitory, or even in the first-year Slytherin House.
