"The train will reach Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train; we will have it sent up to the school for you."
Night had fallen outside the window. Beneath the deep purple sky lay mountains and forests, and the train's speed gradually slowed. A loud announcement suddenly echoed through the carriage corridor.
"We should change into our school uniforms."
George took off his jacket and put on his black Hogwarts wizard robes.
Luna, Ginny, and Colin also reacted, quickly changing into their own uniforms.
After the train stopped, young wizards surged out, jostling and pushing in the aisle, afraid they'd miss something if they were a step too slow. Some young wizards' faces were even squashed out of shape.
"Don't rush!"
Seeing the situation, George decisively stopped Ginny and the other two who were trying to squeeze in.
They had already arrived at the station, and Hogwarts, being such a large castle, wasn't going anywhere. There was no need to panic and push their way out.
Unlike the other young wizards, he was also curious and excited about Hogwarts, but he wasn't nervous or flustered.
On one hand, he wasn't really a child. On the other hand, having experienced transmigration, rebirth, soul splitting, and desperate escapes, his inner self was far more composed than that of a normal adult.
About two minutes later, the number of young wizards in the aisle began to thin. Only then did George lead the three little ones out of the compartment, unhurriedly arriving at the train door.
"Follow me closely. Don't go to the upper-year section."
"George, honestly, sometimes you feel like my dad. Very dependable."
Ginny, following behind George, couldn't help but say.
"Hmm, even more dependable than my dad."
Thinking of her father Arthur's sometimes unreliable behavior, she added.
Colin and Luna nodded in agreement.
Although they had only known him for less than a day, George had left them with a very reliable impression.
He spoke calmly, rarely showing surprise at anything, helped them with their luggage, wiped their faces when they got messy eating snacks, and even got up to cover them with their robes when they felt sleepy in the afternoon.
Even now, getting off the train, they felt a sense of security, as if an adult was with them, and as long as they listened, they would be safe.
George smiled at their words. Actually, his actions were just what an adult would instinctively do when seeing children, especially children they didn't dislike.
His body in this world was that of a child, but asking him to constantly pretend to be a child was truly difficult.
So he felt there was no need. Given his background in this world, being precocious was very normal, and it wasn't a bad thing.
"First years! First years, over here!"
Just then, a familiar voice rang out.
George turned to look. It was none other than Hagrid, the gamekeeper, standing to one side of the station, holding a magical lantern and shouting loudly.
Even with several hundred students at the station, Hagrid's three-to-four-meter height still made him stand out immensely; it was hard not to see him.
"Stay close to me."
He turned back to instruct them. George plunged into the dense crowd like a sharp knife, easily pushing aside the older young wizards blocking his way, and quickly reached Hagrid's side.
In terms of strength, even a seventh-year wizard would be far inferior to him.
"We meet again, little boss!"
Seeing George, Hagrid immediately bent down and greeted him.
He vividly remembered this young wizard shop owner who lived in Knockturn Alley and had sold him potions at a discount.
"Hello, Hagrid."
George also nodded with a smile.
"You know Hagrid? Why does he call you 'little boss'?"
Ginny leaned in to George's ear, asking with some curiosity.
She hadn't met Hagrid before, but she often heard her brother Ron mention him, so she guessed his identity.
"My adoptive father ran a potion shop. He passed away unexpectedly some time ago. Hagrid came to buy potions."
George replied casually.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked. I hope you're not sad."
Hearing George say this, Ginny's expression immediately became remorseful. Luna and Colin's faces also showed sympathy.
"It's alright."
George smiled. He really wanted to say that he had personally killed the old man, but he knew saying that would definitely scare the three little ones.
After staying by Hagrid's side for a while, all the first-year wizards soon gathered, about thirty or so of them.
In fact, Hogwarts didn't have many students, usually maintaining around three hundred, about forty per year. When many were admitted, it was in the forties; when fewer, it was in the thirties.
It made sense when you thought about it; after all, the academy didn't have many teachers. For example, Defence Against the Dark Arts was taught to all seven years, but there was only one teacher. If there were too many students, it would be impossible to teach them all.
Once everyone had gathered, Hagrid led them along a narrow path to the edge of the Black Lake. Then, as usual, he had them board boats in groups of four to travel to the castle. This was an essential traditional ceremony for first-year students entering the school each year.
The purpose seemed to be to commemorate the four legendary wizards who founded Hogwarts.
Most people who had become acquainted on the train sat together. George naturally took Luna, Ginny, and Colin into one boat.
However, these were no ordinary boats; they were enchanted with special spells through alchemy. They didn't need oars to row; they could automatically generate wind to propel the boat forward.
To be honest, the process of traveling by boat from the Black Lake into Hogwarts Castle was quite stunning. Even George, looking up at the towering castle, couldn't help but feel a sense of awe.
One young wizard, overwhelmed by the sight, even accidentally fell into the lake midway.
But no accidents occurred, as a giant squid immediately rescued the young wizard from the lake and put him back on the boat as soon as he fell in.
Don't underestimate the Black Lake; it was home to many magical creatures.
After crossing the Black Lake and disembarking at the castle's underground dock, they followed a tunnel through the rock face to the castle gate. Hagrid then handed them over to a tall, dark-haired witch in emerald green robes.
This witch was none other than Professor Minerva McGonagall, the Transfiguration professor and Head of Gryffindor.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. The start-of-term feast is about to begin, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you must first be sorted into your respective Houses..."
Professor McGonagall led them into a small room on the left side of the castle's ground floor hall, briefly introducing the four Houses and the very important House Cup.
After Professor McGonagall left, the young wizards began to buzz with discussion, the topic naturally being the Sorting Ceremony.
George was no exception, as he was also wondering which House he would be sorted into.
He wasn't Harry Potter; the Sorting Hat wouldn't delay for him, nor would it send him to whichever House he wished. Like the other young wizards, he would be assigned directly based on the results of the magical assessment.
But it didn't really matter to him. In his view, all the Houses were the same; each had its advantages. Because no matter which House he went to, he would become the most outstanding and brilliant wizard.
From today onwards, Hogwarts would welcome the most formidable and exceptionally gifted wizarding genius in its history: George.
